2 Excellent barrels for an excellent price. If you watch the video you know that they are just a little over gassed for what they need, but function has been 100% and the 12.5" is exceptionally accurate as well. The highest value barrels currently on the market. I paid a total of $205 for both of them. If I had to pick I would keep the 12.5" as it was more accurate and generally pleasant to use.

I had an 11.5 inch bloodline barrel and it was seriously overgased. I installed an H3 buffer and a heavy duty red buffer spring and still was getting 2 o'clock ejection. I swapped the barrel out for a ballistic advantage

I didn't check it, It was my first roscoe barrel so I just assumed that's how they came. Maybe I just got a bad one that made it past Roscoe's QC but I've been reluctant to buy another one from them
@@RickJamesGhostGuns How long ago did you buy that barrel? I've heard that a couple years ago they had some QC issues but they have stepped up their game now. I was hesitant to buy a Rosco over a BA because I have 2 BA barrels that are excellent tack driver's(.223 Wylde hanson and . 223 Wylde government). They are both 1/8 twist 416r SS. I just picked up a 12.5 and a 14.5 Rosco but haven't shot either yet. This video as well as garandthumbs video really make me comfortable with my decision. 😎
Edit: I also have a couple PSA freedom barreled uppers that are excellent shooters. One is a SS and the other is a 4150 nitrided. They are both pretty accurate but the BA barrels are noticably better.

Was just looking at 12.5 barrel setups. If someone is looking to buy a complete AR pistol with a 12.5 I recommend the IWI Zion. I've tried the rifle out, and it's a great value. The pistol version is one of the few 12.5 ar pistols I've seen, and the feature set is great

Just wanted to add some specifics to a statement. Good for up to 26k rounds…most of us don’t have access to such numbers. 4/1/23 5.56 in bulk orders, for quick math purposes, including shipping costs, 1k rounds shipped @ $500= $13,000 worth of (the cheapest) ammo to run through said $130 barrel. You are 110% correct sir…I do have access to this barrel ($130+ship), but, I definitely don’t have access to 26+k bulk ammo. But, I do shoot Winchester m193 and m855 from my local shop. Also, I base my build off of the fact that I primarily shoot these 2 examples (55g&62g) but I’ve recently learned these are not the ammo to be using for defensive purposes. Could y’all commenters recommend (with specific info) the correct ammo to be using to facilitate 1 shot fight ending results. Up to this point, being an obvious civilian noob, all I’ve heard that comes to mind is 77 grain. Plz help! Comments

Construction-wise, however, looks solid. Certainly hard to tell much of a difference from the BA in my Aero at least.
Love rosco barrels, best bang out there next to ballistic advantage. On point with the gas port. Their bcg are pretty good.

Your recent content has been on point. There's insufficient information about form 1 suppressors outside the obscure corners of the Internet that a lot of folks don't know how to navigate efficiently. I've been considering putting together an up to date FAQ/collection of links for further reading on the topic, I'll definitely be interested to see additional videos in that series.
I'm all about some budget kit, I watch the hell out of 704 tact sales alerts. With AR prices through the roof and complete rifles/uppers sold out all over, building has become the only available option to obtain certain configurations somewhat affordably. These Roscoe barrels have been the cheapest nitride barrels I've seen in stock fairly often lately, but I seem to recall seeing them around the $120-135 range on PA, AT3. Bare unlined phosphate barrels are a no-go for me and have prevented me from picking up a BCA. High humidity region, ime good nitride barrels stand up far better than phosphate or stainless to damp environments; even in temperate climes you can end up with the outside looking mostly fine but the bore/chamber starting to corrode. Phosphate considered only if chrome lined, and that hikes price up a lot. A bare phosphate chamber will also extract less reliably than a nitride or CL, and you get faster gas port erosion. So good on them for that, nitride extension is a nice detail. Would prefer 1/8" twist, tends to do better with the 55-62gr that constitute probably 95% of production but can still stabilize 77s, but that's really splitting hairs.
I value mechanical accuracy much less highly than a lot of shooters do- if you're a 6 moa shooter, you're gonna shoot 6 moa whether you have a 0.5 moa or 2.0 moa gun. It's not a multiplicative relationship as some assume, and you rapidly reach a point of diminishing return on investment. Chasing marginal accuracy gains before your current barrels are actually holding you back from improving is mostly a waste of money, and I think a lot of people have an unrealistic opinion of their own ability.
My biggest complaint about the Roscoe barrels, and I think the biggest oversight, is the gov profile; the "gunner"-esque barrel (gov profile out until gas block, stepped down to 0.625" gas block (less weight) and pencil out to the threads) as developed by Faxon handles noticeably better, it cuts almost half a pound off the most critical area with no loss of performance in semi-auto. Especially with the increasing prevalence of suppressor use, shaving weight off the muzzle end is getting increasingly valuable. ounces£s.
At only $25 MSRP difference between the Roscoe & Faxon, I don't see the value proposition; however, if I came across these for $100 as mentioned I would consider it, that's ~$45 less than current (April '21) price on the Faxons. It just seems like a missed opportunity, given that this was a recently launched line of barrels and several improved mid-lightweight profiles (i think BA has one, pretty sure bcm too. Aero might.) were already well established and highly sought after. It's not that it's a bad barrel, the specs are fine, but they're essentially identical to PSA barrel specs other than the gas ports. Just my thoughts, and why I haven't purchased one yet.
A long comment but I agree with almost everything in it. I haven't tried out any faxon stuff but I would be interested to see if they are as accurate or if they have a larger POI shift if you attached a suppressor on them since they are a thinner profile.
@@FocusTripp Turbo k w/ yhm brake presented no issues, but that's like an 11oz can. I haven't had an opportunity to try a heavier design yet, waiting on form1. Inrange did a video or two on faxon pencil barrels, their focus of testing was rapid fire heat-induced poi shift from rapid fire, but my gut instinct says muzzle device poi shift would likely correlate with those results. Your mounting system is typically going to have more to do with poi shift than the weight, from what I've read, and that repeatable shift is more important than having no shift at all.

Good info. I have a Rosco 12.5” with an H2 buffer and it is gassy and snappy but runs solid. I have been thinking about throwing an adjustable gas block. Think I will and hope it makes a difference.

The barrel that SOTAR checked was Rosco's own test barrel....I believe a lot of those 26k rounds were also full auto.
