- The 2023 Dell Inspiron 16 Plus seems like the dream jack of all trades laptop with a QHD+ 120Hz display, 45 watt Core i7 and Nvidia RTX 4060 graphics. I have a bit older version of that laptop, but the casing is quite the same. A major disadvantage are the hot air vents to the back. When you flip the screen up, hot air hits the lower frame of the screen. As a result, it comes off after a while. Also the screen mounting is a weak spot. While the casing appears to be quite sturdy, the joints are covered by plastic wraps which are affected by the vented hot air and break eventually.

Explains a lot of things i couldn't find elsewhere. Mine came with a usb-c charger ONLY which as you said takes up that thunderbolt. I want a barrel for it but i didn't know if it works with this computer.

You can charge this beauty with a split dual cable usb-c and barrel adapter cord connected to a fast charging 90W brick as an alternative charging method.

what you you guys recommend to me (3d job) Inspiro 16 plus or acer triton 300?
It's nice to have some overhead when you have Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign open, each with multiple files open and at various levels of completion. I do prepress and graphic design at a print shop and it's not always advantageous to only have one file open on one app. Constantly shifting priorities means that a lot of files only get a few minutes at a time. I would definitely make use of that second RAM slot. I dream of 64GB of fast memory 😴💭

Hi!! I’m looking for a computer for my mom… she does office work and internet navigation mostly. No big programs and very light games (like sudoku or like older games)… would you think the dell inspiron 16 with i5 or i7 and 16gb ram + 512 gb will be enough ?

Depends on the size of your ram sticks. Usually come in 8,16,32gb sizes.

Currently using 7620 and now this 7630 screen resolution is a bit downgrade from what I had got (3K vs 2.5K)

Is 16 gm of RAM enough or should you go with 32gb setup? Learning python and occasional gaming?
Maybe a little late, but if you are planning to do programming and spin up some docker containers, VMs etc. I would go with 32 gb. But with this laptop you can upgrade the ram later

I purchased this laptop at the and of the 2023 have all updates for BIOS and all drivers, and what can i say its most glitching laptop i ever had, u cant use fast start or hibernate cuz in this case u just cant turnoff the laptop, its frizzed in turnoff process, fans start spinning at 100% and processor i dont know what he doing but its hot as hell. I already tried everything, windows restart from the scratch, all the updates everything possible last versions. So i`ll return it crap back.
When I first tried it at the store, I could feel the heat at the tip of my fingers even though it just started a few minutes. So it is hot then. Do you have any update on the laptop?
@@nguyentuankiet8534 Yes, they already changed a BIUOS few times, now its version 14, in RUclips or using Browser average temp is 35-38 on Quite mode. In Quite mode i play in Cyberpunk 2077 temp newer was more then 70C. Sleep mode sometimes still glitching but this is more Intel and Microsoft problem.
This or the Inspiron 16 2-in-1 Laptop?
Thanks for such a great review. I just ordered this configuration for $1099 using my employee discount though Dell. It seems like such a good deal considering it is only about $300 more than the low end machines with onboard RAM and built in video cards. My question is if I wanted to upgrade the machine would I have to buy 2x32 mb chips to get to 64, or could I just buy a 32 and add it to my 8 to have 40? I can't remember if you have to buy and install the RAM cards in pairs?

@@ShainAndrews Apparently you haven't experienced it. It makes everything smoother and more fluid. Even moving the mouse cursor on the desktop feels better. And for browsing the web. And since this has a GPU, obviously for gaming

You are right, this is precisely QHD, so 1280x800 x2 (x4 area). QHD+ would be something like 2880 wide, or more.
HD : 720p
QHD : 1440p (16x9 aspect ratio)
QHD+ : 1600p (16x10 aspect ratio)

@@constantinosschinas4503You're probably reading it wrong. It's usually the smallest dimension before a "p". HD+ is 1600 x 900, making it 900p. QHD+ is 2560 x 1600, making it 1600p. You get?

Does it work with Linux?
Works with Windows, I don't see why it wouldn't with Linux.

I have this model. It's an absolute turd. The fans constantly run under little load and it runs extremely hot. Avoid.
