Quite a few people getting their heads in a spin over the ring. If you don't want it, don't buy it. I've ordered it because while I do have a Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, I don't want to always wear it to keep track of my metrics. I have quite a few mechanical watches ,I'd like to wear to work and on other occasions, so the fact this ring can be worn with them is ideal. Wearing the ring while I sleep instead of my watch is definitely a big plus for me. If it doesn't fill a need for you, that's fine, but there are other people out there, for who it does. It's called choice.

I'm with you on this one. I have an engraved watch I got for my 21st but I never wear it anymore because of my galaxy watch. The ring would allow me to swap around.
You're one of the first videos I have found to do some preliminary testing of the ring.
The double pinch will be extremely useful. It can set up to answer phone calls, delete email, dismis notifications, zoom in/out,....its up to Samsung if they want to implement more features.
exactly. and those double pinch features already available on samsung Galaxy watch 7 ultra. so it's possible will be on galaxy ring soon

I think it can be most useful when you are surrounded by samsung ecosystem like washer airconditioner...
Id love to use it to skip tracks with a double tap, or a backtrack last played track with 3 taps...pause play music with 1 tap
the value proposition of the ring feels low to me at this time. Samsung suggesting wearing a ring +watch = better reading is akin to suggesting we wear one smartwatch on each wrist. (which begs the question, why is accuracy poor in the first place). ;)
Its more of "the ring can be used as an external battery for your watch so that it can last longer off charge"
It can also be smartwatch vs ring. Some people will definitely prefer the ring. Also, having two devices measure health metrics gives you more precise readings. Health is very important so I definitely see the value proposition
Ordered the ring immediately! Well the sizing guide first. I wasnt gonna get a watch cause my Watch4 classic is still good but the white titanium ultra looked so good i got it. Also ordered the pink Fold 6 but i am definitely not getting the buds i hate stick buds my technics are still my go to
Cant wait to add this to my collection i dont like wearing a watch when sleeping, will be intresting to pair this with my S23, and Watch 4 classic

I pre-ordered just for the sleep tracking I have never found wearing a watch to track sleep comfortable. I like wearing some nice watches to special events with this I will be able to now . I hope they never put a screen on it it would completely defeat the purpose of a ring I do hope they start giving customized options like engraving and making it sleeker
I have a question, can the heart rate be instantaneously shown through the phone for zone training or hiit training purpose or does it show a range?

Great video, thank you! Question... Samsung says the sensors should be on the palm side of your finger and when I wore my sizing ring for 24hrs I found that the ring rotated quite a bit, to where the sensors wound up being on the side of my finger. Did you run into any issues with that?

What does it mean when they say it charges 1 to 1 and a half times? Doss it have a really good battery life or do you need to buy a new one?

Allowing to attend calls and end calls should also be added for the pinch 2 fingers feature.
how sick would this be if we could enhance tracking to use the gestures to control vision pro or quest 3
not sure if it was mentioned but when it comes to sizing it's good to consider if it will be used for work outs as our fingers get slightly bigger when the blood starts flowing. It may feel ok when putting it on but will get tighter as you go, I personally hate this feeling and I never wear rings on hikes or any exercise.
I have a doubt ' how the phone detect the Ring quickly when your phone is opened ? Does it connect with Bluetooth or any other connection option exclusive for Ring'

I bought size 7 to wear on my pinky finger and it works perfectly and way more comfortable.
Does it not have NFC? Disappointing, could be handy for smart locks and contactless payment

Does the ring lose all of the tracking data if your phone isn’t nearby? Does the app just consider that dead time? Or does the ring remember that data and transfer it when the phone is in range?
It tracked my workout without my phone nearby. So ring likely remembers the data and transfers when in range

Wish you would’ve said what ring size you normally are as well as what size you ordered.
My normal ring size is 7.75
I doubt the ring would use more battery for "tracking" more workouts... The ring only collects sensor data. The phone itself then computes the data to output results. The ring itself is completely passive. Battery drain should be consistent the only big battery drain would be syncing the ring with the phone.
Can you set the ring to airplane mode
Will the ring work without a smartphone for a while? Like if my phone is completely off or just not connectet, will the ring store the data for a while and then transfer it to my smartphone when they are connectet again?
Yes the workout I tracked in this video was without my smartphone nearby
Would be a must buy for $100 and a great buy at $200. But at $400 it's pretty much e-waste in gen 1 stage. Definitely needs an OLED panel on the front for time, weather or activity indicator. Might be a solid buy in 2-5 years of advancements

You can't get enough radio waves and microwaves running through you body
Yeah, it uses both sensors to get the most accurate results, or you can have it disable the sensors on ur watch to save battery

The ring sizes for these galaxy rings are different than conventional ring sizes. My normal ring size is around a 7.5

If I remember right raw, it will work on all Android devices. The pinch thing he showed off is only thing exclusive to Galaxy phones. At least that's what I remember from different video on this

Aaaah, thanks for showing us the fit of the ring on your finger, as the ring has a (Thickness Problem). Your the first one online to point this out. Also, Samsung has a history of inaccurate readings, which is another reason why I'm on the fence.

I did not have my phone nearby. The galaxy ring tracked the workout entirely on its own

There is no scrolling option,next track,volume adjustment,silent mode... They have to add more functions ... Other than its Just a normal ring... There lot of good ring

Samsung's health-tracking products always measure sleep too bad. I don't know how accurate it is, but regarding it was a good night, It always detects some wakefulness, shorter deep sleep and more REM. Typically at least 30 minutes of awake a night! That alone gonna drag your sleeping score way down and may obsess you why did you sleep felt really good but the overall score was bad. I transfer to a Garmin watch and notice way better sleep tracking. Hope they can fix this in the future and the battery as well :) as I really like their product (I have been using 4 galaxy watch generations till now). For me, it is more like a tech watch than a health-tracking device !

I don't like that it's so thick and you can't close your fingers properly. It would also probably be felt while holding stuff in your hand.
the thing about this ring, you want the biggest size that will fit you if possible. because the bigger sizes will have a longer lasting battery.
however, you can't ignore comfort and preference. But as long as you are aware that the bigger size have more battery charge, then fine.
just wanted to point that out in case some people did not yet realize this.

I mean these useless devices anyways which 99 % of the people will not use . These are only curiosity devices which people would buy and after few days they will throw it .

This is what I thought when I saw the retail price. Brand new watch 7 is $300, then this is $400 for way less stuff. 1st gen stuff is always the most expensive sadly
