Its not that what he plays is particularly difficult , its just that every note he chooses is the right one . His taste is impeccable . In Zeppelin , onstage he was always doing soemthing interesting if you listened closely . Jones is one of my favorite musicians
Take any of the 4 members away from Zeppelin and it would not have been the same. But, I think JPJ was the most important and most underrated of the 4. Take him out of the equation and it would have been just as different if Jimmy had chosen Terry Reid instead of Robert Plant. I wonder if anyone there recognized that JPJ was 'loosely' playing the Going To California riffs? Yo!
