@@dustinjones7458 well now that I've passed chapter 4 in maddening difficulty (BL), I can confidently say that the death knight is even easier when he comes to you. Pull him with dedue, kill him with Dimitri's knight kneeler. The only risk is that he crits Dedue, but you can easily pulse and try again next turn.
I’m picturing Hubert in the Blue Lions route except every time he comes back he’s more injured than the last. You get to Enbarr and he’s just in a wheelchair with a full body cast. Dimitri looks on pitifully.

Even with the leadership gone there would still be agents planted around Fodlin, let alone the base with zombie nemisis and his boy band on ice.
Which makes no sense considering she isn't an important character, that's the only time in BL you fight the Alliance, and literally every other Golden Deer student there can die by your hands. I guess Claude just couldn't let his waifu die.

Tbh its not just 3H, its been absurdly annoying in Fates and somewhat Echoes aswell - Awakening feels like they started it there but didnt commit too much into the "haha not this time young man" and mostly kept people alive for the missions shortly before endgame only. It is absurdly annoying tho.

Hubert doesn't pick fights he can't retreat from. I mean I was kinda ok with him retreating since he is Edelgard's right hand man but for a game that punches you in the gut if you kill any other student it doesn't really do that with Hubert, probably just cause he's not recruitable and so is basically Iago 2.0 in terms of gameplay albeit much better written.
Trish Doyle Edelgard says in the map that the people of Brigid need her but then again she can die on Hubert's map, although is out of the way a bit and I'm not sure if she rushes you later on in the map since I killed her early. If she does do that then it's kinda stupid that she was even brought back besides being a challenge.

The truth is characters only die when they’re ready to play dead and yell out loud with the most depressing monologue possible. Hubert doesn’t think that suits him so instead of tapping out for good, he runs away hesitantly.
Nothing will ever outlive the maximum number of times you can defeat Hubert in Three Houses only for him to retreat. My theory is that he retreats at the end of the game as well, but just says that he was dying to get you to stop hurting him.

that Julius theme at the end got me good. Reminded me of a Certain character in FE4 who you literally fight three times, but gets teleported away by Julius, TWICE :)
I especially love that in the first encounter, you recruit a character that can literally just turn around and one-shot her the same turn as he’s recruited, making her feel like a complete joke.

This made me remember a dream I had. In my dream, I saw a cutscene in Three Houses where Hubert strangled one of my units to death (I think it was Sylvain). I don't know how I made up a game cutscene in a dream, but I did. I think it was on the Blue Lions route, because I think Dimitri was there, and he and a few others reacted to his death.

Retreating is the "get out of death" card in FE, all you have to do is utter the magic words to escape death.

Nothing will ever outlive the maximum number of times you can defeat Hubert in Three Houses only for him to retreat. My theory is that he retreats at the end of the game as well, but just says that he was dying to get you to stop hurting him.
Except despite being twice as many in numbers, they appeared less times than Hubert and DK combo
