I hope the same volume handle will also be implemented to a pitch option, so you can cut a single sample and alter the pitch without making the clip unique, that would be a great addition.
It's about time FL is adding these features. Been an FL Studio user for 10 years until switching to Ableton/Bitwig because I couldn't take not having these basic things lol.
Umm.. No... We did this at Sonic foundry within Vegas video, Vegas audio (2 separate apps until Vegas 3) & acid about 25yrs ago... When 6gb ide HDD,SCSI CD burner's & 256mb ram was enough lolllll Loooong before adobe premier went single timeline & ppl jumped away from PTools over to Acid coz it was cheaper & didn't crash.. The days of the raving bedroom banger... Lolll God I feel old..
The gain lowering and raising volume per clip is huge for fl users!!!! I've been wishing for this change. It can help deeply as a manual way to de-ess vocals

I like how you showed how the audio gain feature can be used, its actually really smart to cut it and lower or boost the volume to make changes quickly. But i would have preferred a baked in audio volume handle like in any other DAW, meaning you can make whatever you were doing (and seeing any changes live), but you can also make curves for the volume changes and complex shapes, which you obviously cant do with clip gain. Clip gain is good but very simple

man, FL studio is catching up really fast to that of ableton, the ability to consolidate almost anything (audio, pattern, automation clips), real time fades (finally) and getting rid of always making clips unique, fl might just be better than Ableton
Thanks, this is awesome These gain, fade and crossfade options save a lot of time. There is a chance that the gain options lead to more mouse clicking and less music producing. But time will tell. For now these are great additions!
A feature I really wanted to see one day is custom slide notes, mainly because I'm not really a big fan of the flattened slopes the current slide note gives, and I don't like making automation clips just for slide notes. Would be really nice to change the curve like you can do with envelopes and automations. Another problem is when working with microtonal notes or something similar, slide notes do not recognize individual note pitch, which could be fixed as well.
seems like FL is starting to compete with logic and Ableton recording wise... if they keep moving in this direction with future updates I believe they may become the best DAW by a long shot

Any updates on when V21 is coming out? Better be an insane update for it to take so long. I wish they would just fully release these essential features that the program has been missing, the stuff we actually need. to be honest ,Fl is an intuitive and fast Workflow DAW . but its also a shame on Image Line , that they need tons Of Years to bring finally Basic Audio Edit Stuff like those ! So Cubase , Logic & Ableton have this Basic Features since their Born . there are still to many missing Features so thats why i was switched to Cubase and finally Ableton . ( Cause Cubase dont work well anymore on my Pc System ) and When Image Line Finally brings a free asignable Keyboard Shortcut Mode for nearly every Function in FL ,where so many currently are so annyoing to handle with Mouse clicking here and clicking there .. and when they finally add a german Program Language . Then i will return fully again to Fl Studio .

Yes, the "bigger guys" had many features we are jealous about since ages and yes because of Gol and very slow development things went wrong a long time... But 1. The grass is always greener behind in the neighbours garden... The big guys still are lacking of tons of features FLS user have since ages and user of them are often jealous of us... 2. The new team has already proven they aren´t Gol and have already done a very nice job... you have to imagine they had to do a lot of housekeeping behind the scenes first to lift the code into the next century and make bigger changes possible... and you´ll be surprised when you see what´s all in the make!
do u think we will be able to cut audio destructively? for example, after cutting one of the parts of the vocal track, if u tried to reverse that specific part, it would reverse the whole audio clip. it doesn't do this in logic and pro tools.
My only complain is that Fl team should just integrate Audio track and saperate midi track for recording in the playlist itself only then it will be the most versatile DAW.
This is already possible. Set a playlist track to be an audio track, and connect it to a mixer channel that has your desired input source selected. Make sure the recording mode is set to External Input Only. You can now arm and unarm the audio track right from the playlist.

I have a question about the audio clips not having to be unique to make changes. Does it also apply to stretching the sliced clips or just for the volume only? If you can stretch sliced clips individually without making it unique every time that that would make vocal alignment much easier.

I have no clue what they are planning in terms of audio clips, but as in track warping is planned I guess audio clips will get the feature wished from you ... otherwise the planned integration will not be possible...

All others do have that... but FL Studio had it not... This is a new feature to FL Studio but not a new feature for the rest of the world... FL Studio got in the past thousands of features others do not have... now they are bringing in the features others have... The advantage: we are getting now most of the stuff the others have but they still do not get all the unique features of FL Studio 🙂
Now if they could tack on a noise remover for surrounding (atmosphere) highways, hum, hiss, and all that unwanted computer static when recording that would be nice. Not necessarily a plugin but sort of just kind of built into the audio clips as an option inside the clip menu. A good noise remover that actually works! I lose so many recordings because of my damn computer humming. And no, I don't a have a professional studio. Not even an ideally recording space. They should like actually record these sources and let the techs built a vst that removes the sounds when recognized. Our technology is far advanced enough.
The new Waves plugin, Clarity, $29. Works very well, but heavy on CPU. Just have to be creative on how it's used and your vocals will be clean of background noise without losing the clarity of the vocal.

Looks like FL has been reverse engineering Sonic foundry/Sony/magix... Not an insult, I just thought this was a staple.. Just putting it out there, Sonic Foundry were doing this nearly 25yrs ago with Vegas & Acid. And thats with audio AND video.. Hell, i still use this function in pretty much every video or audio master.. I dno why its a bug deal... Mind u i eas a beta tester for some prominent Dev houses.. Buuuuut as nice as this is, There's no key framing here on the cross fade,nor a gain/volume envelope on the global track output to finitely adjust the inherent gain increase which will ensue during that cross fade (depending on ur ramping of course..) Go grab Vegas pro or Acid & see for yourselves wot I'm talking about.. Actually Trimming clips (nondestructively) & sliding Crossfades like this been available Long before fruity loops was a thing, & keyframable cross fades been around since Vegas 6 around 2003.. I remember well coz i was the guy Sonys paid to beta test & demonstrate the suite after Sony bought out sonic foundry at the time HDV kicked off... Gawd the memories.. Lolllll I'm surprised you didn't include a "right click drop down menu, & in there we find a "normalise" option which takes gain wherever it needs to be per split clip.. Like I said, chk out Vegas.. Or Acid.. Interesting.. I really thought this was a staple... Well done either way coz I know this is ram& buffer & hdd cache dependant ..so glitchy drives or flaky/low/off page file configs could be an issue.. Ie u need fast page file to get this going...at the basic level.. Last time I used fruity, u were up to version 3 or 4 & Ableton was at v2 with no hardware interface like push... So I stuck with Yamaha hardware units to sequence live & record on the fly...Still using hardware actually coz these PC/Mac loop based sequencers could/would never interrupt a loop/phrase/scene or allow for launching scenes on the fly (at say a quarter measure)... oh & scene /mute memories were a godsend ....Nothing worked this well at the time until Ableton & akai hooked up & before that Ableton automatically recording your live Jam performance as a linear multichannel timeline.. Now THAT was neat... So many memories.. Good luck with FL!!
real time fades as an update feature in 2022?? really?? this should be a MUST in any BASIC daw from the scratch. it is hard to take fl studio seriously..
updates are free in fl so it doesn't matter when the features are added so long as they're added. fl has had real time fades for years, they just didn't operate like how it does on other DAWs because FL only used "audio clips system" & not "audios tracks" like in standard linear DAW.
after two years we will get ara in fl . and after 3 years we will get newtone ara editing in playlist. and after 5 years we will get audio warping similar to ableton live without making it a unique sample. and after 6 years we will get again new pluging rather making it a fl more faster and more usefull ! 😊 and after 15 years music producer will understand the we where waiting for free updates and daw to improve more ! and after 20 years the producer will die without any produced tracks ! 😅😭😭😭😭☹☹☹☹
If Gol would be still envolved I would be with you... but this new team has already done a fantastic job and don´t be surprised if big features now drop much faster than you expect...

fully agree with you ! Other DAWs do have those Basic Audio Edit Stuff at their Born .. so Image Line needs tons of Years to bring this Features finally
FL had crossfades it just didn't work like how it does now. FL has always been a non-linear DAW so you can't compare it to linear DAWs workflow. FL uses "audio clip system" not "audio tracks system" like in standard DAWs, so they're had to figure out a way to add these features without breaking the audio clip system(which btw offers a unique way of dealing with audio that you don't find in other DAW). They only now adding these "traditional" linear features because users don't want to switch to other DAWs for audio recording & editing.
@@AizenIPlannedIt I get it, I understand that fl studio is a completely different paradigm than other daws, I love fl studio for what it is, I use it to make my beats, but for any extensive mixing or recording, I use studio one, fl studio is just very difficult to use from an organizational and mixing standpoint.

They still need to automatically assign everything to a mixer track, no matter where you place it. Having to do it manually is horrible

These changes just apply to fades and clip gain... for everything else you need to make the clip uniques as always...

Buuuuut as nice as this is, There's no key framing here on the cross fade,nor a gain/volume envelope on the global track output to finitely adjust the inherent gain increase which will ensue during that cross fade (depending on ur ramping of course..)
Go grab Vegas pro or Acid & see for yourselves wot I'm talking about..
Actually Trimming clips (nondestructively) & sliding Crossfades like this been available Long before fruity loops was a thing, & keyframable cross fades been around since Vegas 6 around 2003.. I remember well coz i was the guy Sonys paid to beta test & demonstrate the suite after Sony bought out sonic foundry at the time HDV kicked off... Gawd the memories.. Lolllll
I'm surprised you didn't include a "right click drop down menu, & in there we find a "normalise" option which takes gain wherever it needs to be per split clip..

Interesting.. I really thought this was a staple... Well done either way coz I know this is ram& buffer & hdd cache dependant ..so glitchy drives or flaky/low/off page file configs could be an issue.. Ie u need fast page file to get this going...at the basic level..
Last time I used fruity, u were up to version 3 or 4 & Ableton was at v2 with no hardware interface like push... So I stuck with Yamaha hardware units to sequence live & record on the fly...Still using hardware actually coz these PC/Mac loop based sequencers could/would never interrupt a loop/phrase/scene or allow for launching scenes on the fly (at say a quarter measure)... oh & scene /mute memories were a godsend ....Nothing worked this well at the time until Ableton & akai hooked up & before that Ableton automatically recording your live Jam performance as a linear multichannel timeline.. Now THAT was neat...
So many memories..

real time fades as an update feature in 2022?? really?? this should be a MUST in any BASIC daw from the scratch. it is hard to take fl studio seriously..
I know, honestly I don't know why it wasn't implemented like 20 years ago lol.
updates are free in fl so it doesn't matter when the features are added so long as they're added. fl has had real time fades for years, they just didn't operate like how it does on other DAWs because FL only used "audio clips system" & not "audios tracks" like in standard linear DAW.

after two years we will get ara in fl . and after 3 years we will get newtone ara editing in playlist. and after 5 years we will get audio warping similar to ableton live without making it a unique sample. and after 6 years we will get again new pluging rather making it a fl more faster and more usefull ! 😊 and after 15 years music producer will understand the we where waiting for free updates and daw to improve more ! and after 20 years the producer will die without any produced tracks ! 😅😭😭😭😭☹☹☹☹
If Gol would be still envolved I would be with you... but this new team has already done a fantastic job and don´t be surprised if big features now drop much faster than you expect...

Fl studio adds bog standard features and everyone goes crazy. I love fl, but any other daw would get roasted for not having basic shit like crossfades
fully agree with you ! Other DAWs do have those Basic Audio Edit Stuff at their Born .. so Image Line needs tons of Years to bring this Features finally
FL had crossfades it just didn't work like how it does now. FL has always been a non-linear DAW so you can't compare it to linear DAWs workflow. FL uses "audio clip system" not "audio tracks system" like in standard DAWs, so they're had to figure out a way to add these features without breaking the audio clip system(which btw offers a unique way of dealing with audio that you don't find in other DAW). They only now adding these "traditional" linear features because users don't want to switch to other DAWs for audio recording & editing.
@@AizenIPlannedIt I get it, I understand that fl studio is a completely different paradigm than other daws, I love fl studio for what it is, I use it to make my beats, but for any extensive mixing or recording, I use studio one, fl studio is just very difficult to use from an organizational and mixing standpoint.
