Placeit also has a built in image resizer! It's quite handy for beginners. Thanks for the great content!
Thanks for sharing! Yeah.... I should have used that in this video... still learning
Thanks, Reza!😃
Thanks great tip!
Can I resize in PlaceIt or do I have to go to Affinity designer every time to do so ??
Love Placeit! Haven’t had time to explore it all yet, thank you for the tutorial! As always, valuable content!😃
Thank you
Thanks so much. It takes me over an hour to make a design. I can't wait to try this.
You can do it! I should take way less than an hour
This was great. Thank you. I've had Placeit forever but never knew all of this.
Glad it was helpful!
Exactly what I needed to see today!! Been struggling with constantly comparing my poor design with other amazing ones and keep getting discouraged but this will be so helpful! Ty!!!
Happy to help!
Thanks for the video Juan! I haven’t been using my subscription to its full potential! Gotta try this out!
You should! I haven't used it very much either but there is so much potential there.
FINALLY, a tutorial that opens to the same home page my placeit opens up to! The only thing different is I can’t see all the little categories along the top black bar like we see in yours. I only have the top 5 categories that you have above those, but under each of those, are drop downs with tons of stuff.
I think Placeit updated their UI again... sorry
Your videos are the best! The pace with which you teach is perfect! I am about to purchase a laptop and start designing:) A big thank you 🤗
Happy to help! I'm sure you will do well... let me know if you need a specific video
Great tutorial, I'm subscribed to place it but found it a bit overwhelming so would love more videos like this x
Awesome! Thank you! I will make more
How did I miss this one! Very good. I already have the paid plan. I just did a couple for fun in a few minutes. Thanks!
Fantastic! Glad I could help
Great content juna🔥🔥🔥
Will like to see other tutorials on place it 😀
More to come!
Great tutorial easy to follow-thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome info. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
No problem... I won't be adding any design regarding the trend credit, because somehow on weekends I don't seem to get any design approved, it stays under review the hole weekend. Being in tier 10 sucks 😂 The logo designer is also a good place to make designs. Good Video!
Yeah, I think I need to do a video for the logo designer too. Thanks
Great Content, Juna 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Thank you
🖌️🎨🌻Heard about Placeit from somebody else as well but have not tried.. Will surely try now..
There are some freebies to start if you want to test it out
Thanks for this video. I wanted to start creating and posting designs on Placeit but was not sure how to go about doing it. This video helps a great deal. Could you please do an updated vid on using Placeit for designs this one is 2 years old and the site has been updated? Again, thank you.
Glad it was helpful! What POD do you want to learn how to upload to? Let me know and I can do a video
Thank you so much. It is much helpful for beginners like myself
Glad it was helpful! More to come
Hey Juna another great video thank you!! Would you be able to do a video sometime to explain jpg to png, aspect ratio etc? Sometimes I convert and then resize and sometimes it doesn’t work and sometimes it does. It’s Graphic Designer language to me lol and I’m a beginner. 🤣🤣🤣
Great suggestion!
Good content , Thank you for your efforts .
Thanks for watching!
Man, I love placeit, i use it to the fullest, the only issue I have is they have so many styles (specifically typography), i often spend hours locating the style I want or I make a variation of what's in my head.. also some allow certain # of letters and certain # of add text lines, but I figured ways around it.. also they have an image cropper/resizer it's awesome,, thank god for placeit I suck at photopea/photoshop and inkscape, trying to still learn tho.
Awesome indorsement for placeit. Sounds like it should do another video on the other stuff.
How do you work around the limitations to the # of letters or text lines? That is one thing that has always bothered me with Placeit!
Cool. Love place it
Very cool... I love it too
Hiya June - I love your videos as they are super informative and easy to follow along with - keep up the great work. Question: It seems like some tee graphic templates will permit additional text and others do not? The other day I was attempting to create 7 lines of text and the "add additional text" menu would not appear after I created 4 lines of text. So my question is how do you add say 6 or 7 lines of text using their tee design templates? Thanking you in advance - Michael
If you are designing on Placeit you are limited to what they can do.... those templates are cool but they have their limitations.... If you really want no limitations on the amount of lines you may have to pick up an graphics application like Illustrator or Affinity Designer.
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
Very nice video !
Thank you very much!
Great..
Thanks
thanks man :)
No problem!
Very helpful Thanks 🙏❤️
Glad it was helpful!
Great tutorial.
Glad you liked it!
I know you are pretty skilled graphic designer so do you use placeit often or regularly? I try to use it in a creative way, taking the graphics to different places/taking canva graphics there and vice versa, use vintage effects with placeit because i'm so bad at using photoshop/photopea :D..
I use it mostly for mockups but I thought this would be helpful for those that follow me and are not graphic designers. After doing this tutorial though I'm thinking about using some of this stuff.
Thanks for the video.
Are all of PlaceIt's graphics and fonts freely available for commercial use... or do we have to read the small print somewhere??
I believe that's what they were designed for... so yes, available for commercial use if you have access to Placeit.
You can resize your design in placeit itself. It have free resize tool in the extreme right of the top bar.
That's right. Even better. Thanks
hey thank you for the video.I have placeit over a year and didnt knew about it.
can we use the picturs of animals they put there on t shirt?
If it's on there t-shirt maker I think you can
4:10 Hello Juna, do you have any idea how to use the different variations available when hovering a t-shirt design template? I don't really get why they make a variations if they not letting us to use the variations.
I think you get the first one you see before it changes and shows the variations... but yea I wish you could scroll through the variations they show you.
I'm about to start doing print on demand on Amazon, Tee spring and Redbubble but I'm not exactly sure what type of designs to go with. Do I sell shirts with designs that take a while for the first while then switch to simple texted based with a graphics? Also, would it be worth it to buy the "100 Scalable T-Shirt Quotes" for when I get the ball rolling on Amazon? EDIT: One more thing, are there any stores that I should keep niche specific?
When starting out I would do the style that you are most comfortable with. Your style will depend on the audience you are designing for and the competition. It's not one size fits all. Scalable designs do the best on Amazon when you are in the higher tier. Remember the print on demand business is a slow one. Many people jump in thinking they can upload 1000 designs and get it going faster. It doesn't work that way. It takes time to figure out what works for you. Then you can scale. I don't think you need to be niche specific until you find a niche that really works. Hope that helps.
How do you place one logo over the other, like placing a desired layer on top or behind other logos? There is no option to this and some logos i want to add, i have to place it behind default logo.Is there a way to move layers in front or back of other designs on this editor? thanks
If I remember right there isn't any way to move layers... but I could be wrong
Hi Juna. Great channel! I'm using PlaceIt templates for some of my designs. Question: I can't make some of the design lettering and image really big and bold. I get those elements as big as I can in the PlaceIt template. Will the person printing the TShirt make the design appear bigger? Hope you understand the question. I'm new to designing and learning along the way. Cheers from Canada!
How ever big you make the design on the upload is how big the design will be on the shirt. Sometimes it can be bigger than you think.... It good to order a sample if you are concerned with the size and want to get it just right
Hi Juna, affinity designer and affinity photo, are they 2 different things? I mean does the 1 time payment includes affinity photo?
Yes. It's like the difference between Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
Hi thanks. What is the best way to transfer the image on to a shirt and file type?
I only use print on demand .... do the easiest way is to upload it to a shop like RedBubble and get it printed... save your file as a PNG
Unfortunately, It looks like someone trademarked the phrase "Will You Shut Up, Man?" for t-shirts and sweatshirts yesterday. Do you think we can still use the quote without the comma and question mark, or should I take down my designs from MBA?
Ugggh... I wouldn't take it down but I probably wouldn't add any more.
Currently I am using a windows laptop, There is no "Add Text" feature in the place it design templates, what to do?
That's weird... there's got to be something on the left side there... might have to ask in the Facebook group I don't have a Windows machine to test it... sorry
Can u please make a video about the required dimensions for tshirts and other products on teespring ,merch by Amazon ,redbubble..
And if we can have a single image which we may scale down to diff products ..please...
I'll look into it
thank you for the video but placeit designs do not have 300dpi are there any solutions for that?
I believe it will still be okay even though it's a little lower... but you could always get Affinity Designer
Hi, should i keep anti alising on or not, and which color scheme should i make my designs in,? RGB, or CMYK
I keep anti aliasing on to keep it smoother... I like to use CMYK just to make sure that all the colors I pick can be printed.
@@DetourShirts thank you,
It's 44.95/year now through Black Friday :)
There you go
I got the placeit account but I don't seem to be able to get the side bars that are off to the sides in your tutorial. Help!
Not sure why that happened... interesting. I wonder if they changed the way they do things?
Thanks 🤗 may I ask you is it copyright safe to use some pictures from placeit for etsy?
The ones they say you can use on shirts yes.... I believe some are for mock ups and some are for design.
@@DetourShirts Thank you🤗
i got a few questions though. i am just curious
1)if i used placeit from what i understand you can resize to 4500 by 5400 which is for merch by amazon using the free resize tool correct?
2) placeit designs default comes with rgb or cmyk?, does it matter? and should i try attempt to change it using converter from rgb > cmyk?
3) i tried using the free account today, i only see the DPI is set to 72 by default. apparently it doesn't support to 300 dpi which is for fine printing. Does it matter on my print on demand products or it will look pretty bad when i print out on a physical product?
Thanks for the questions. I'll try to answer them.
1) Yes you can resize your design using their resize tool. I didn't show it in the video but placeit has a resize tool.
2) It in the end it doesn't really matter. Just try to stay away from the really bright colors. There is no good way to print those.
3) It says 72 DPI but if you resize it to 4500 x 5400 you will be fine. It's a transparent PNG which is exactly what you need.
ty bro
You are very welcome
hi juna hope you doing well please I have a problem in my adress emal instad of typing .com i type .ccom .
is there is any possiblity to change it in redbuble.thank you for helping
I'm pretty sure you can. You can also create a new one if you need to
How to add stroke to designs from place it?
Hmmmm... I don't know if you have that kind of control.. you can add colors but those colors parts are kind of set
Anybody know about the DPI? I know March by Amazon uses 300 DPI só was wondering if there is a way to download from place with 300 DPI? Thanks
The DPI works fine if you increase the size with their sizing thing
Thanks!
In Canvs, you can go to "position" and have a design element "sent to back." Can u also do that in Placeit? For instance, in your video, could I send the US map to the back of the texts if I want to?
Nice... thanks for the tip
@@DetourShirts Tip? I don't think you really read my message because I was actually asking you a question regarding if placeit has the "sent to back" feature...
Whoops... I misunderstood... sorry.... Yeah, I don't think Placeit does have a send to back button... I haven't found it anyways.
Yea :( when I download, even though I chose no background, its downloading with a white background. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?🤔
Not sure... if you choose no background it shouldn't give you a white background... Sorry
@@DetourShirts yea, frustrating...may have vfc to just go back bv to my vhf other design tool...I'll try again today. Was excited to learn this tool...maybe just a temporary glitch. Thanks
Placeit designs are 72dpi. Are they good enough for tshirts etc. ?
Yes... You will have to save them at the right size ...5400x4500 but the 72dpi shouldn't be a problem because it's saving it as a PNG file
I just typed in bad things happen in Philadelphia on merch informer and it’s giving an F with 501 products and 0 BSR. That’s odd if the shirts are selling.
Maybe the trend didn't show up yet? I should have checked Merch Informer. Thanks for checking
Hey the dpi on placeit are 72 DPI, while to print a good quality we need at-least 300 dpi. So please do tell using placeit designs will have good quality print in real on the T-shirts?
Yes, correct the png file is 72 DPI but the size is by default 4000px x 4800px which can be scaled up to 7500px x 7500px in their image cropper. That should big enough to get all the rough edges out.
Detour Shirts Okay so does that mean we can use placeit images by scaling up pixels and the print quality will be good? Thank you for the reply :)
No you can't scale up pixels. I believe placeit is scaling up a vector file before giving it to you as a bigger png.
Does anyone has a discount code for place it?
I have this one for new customers...Try Placeit: 1.envato.market/c/2333241/629767/10168?subId1=october&subId2=hyperlink_description_txt&subId3=https%3A%2F%2Fplaceit.net%2F%3Fpl_coupon%3Ddetour&u=https%3A%2F%2Fplaceit.net%2F%3Fpl_coupon%3Ddetour
I joined Placeit last night and I am a little upset because I can not find a blank template for t-shirt like on Canva. I do appreciate it is easier than Canva but I wish I could find a blank template.
Yeah... That's a little different... You have to start with something... You can delete it all and that would be a blank template but you can't start there.
I check the text on trademark cheking website. It website result was it was trademark quote.
Ah man... I didn't see it on USPTO... must have been recent. Thanks for checking
can you upload your own design and use their own fonts?
I don't know if you can upload your design but I'm sure you could download a Placeit design and switch out the graphic with your own graphic after.
@@DetourShirts thank you sir..
Sir most of your links, provided in the description are paid. Are we trying to earn money or spending money????
Both.... If you are starting out you probably want free... but as you grow you may need to spend money to make more money.
two years later... I need to know how the sales on this design withstood the test of time. ;)
It did not hold up well for me.... Didn't get a sale
Is that saying safe?
I think so... I didn't do a design for it yet but I checked USPTO and it was okay
@@DetourShirts not about Tradmark , about copyrights and any other amazon policy?
Ooops sorry JUNA!
No worries
ummm, how in the heck do I upload my designs
To what POD site?
Biden said a lot of nonsense btw
Yes... I agree...politicians in general say a lot of nonsense
