@Detour Shirts 3 things that make your site the best: 1. You're actually an artist and this shows in your designs. 2.your transparency ppl are getting tired of 'get rich scheme' videos that make POD seem so easy
3. You explain extremely clearly, you actually teach technical and art skills. 👌👌👌👌
Thank you... Great 3 points... I hope to keep it up
The only POD channel that is real, thanks juna
Thank you... Glad you like it
I really appreciated the process of starting from almost “nothing” and enriching the design little by little. It seems to be easer that trying to hit the sophisticated version in the first place ;-)
Glad that was helpful
Look up 'Informal Balance' or 'Formal Imbalance'. Plus 'Uniting' a 'Variety' of Elements. Negative space plays a part as well.
Juna you're so good at this brother.
Wow... thank you
I just wanna say a BIG THANK YOU for your generous sharing of knowledge :)
My pleasure!
Thumbs up. Your process of explaining is top notch.
Thanks... I'm trying to get better... it's a process like anything else
You’re meeting needs of a unique niche of ppl who aren’t designers and want to learn how to design great shirts

Yay! Brilliant tutorial. I stink at circle design and this is just so much easier. I also apricate when you name the font. I stink at finding good fonts (I'm not artistic).

Great tutorial,!

Dude, really nice content!
Glad you liked it! Thank you
Awesome video. Best POD RUclipsr out there. Thanks for the info!
Wow, thanks!
@@DetourShirts thank you. You are always talking about bringing value, in whatever you are doing and you definitely live up to that with your videos. You change it up a lot, and go into detail for an average joe. Like even your Bernie video, that is unique and something that I hopped on right away so it was good to see I was doing the right thing but not going against copyright like others. Keep up the great content.
Another great video bro, love the way you share your knowledge def paying it forward. Really liked the coolers site, never heard of that one. Thanks again.
Happy to help!

Ehrenmann 💪💪 really good tips
Thank you
Thank you so much
You're most welcome
You Da Man Man, this is the longest part of my design process I make the design in an hour or two then I spend 2 days just looking at it thinking "what the hell is wrong with it? I know there's something wrong" I think I doubt myself too much ha!
It comes with practice... The more you do the better and faster you will get... keep going.... I have the same problem sometimes... a lot of times I just say, "this is good enough" and upload it so I can move on.
give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime
Exactly.... now get those fish
You got the new mic, I see! It sounds great man. Good work❤
Yes! Thank you RJ. It's a Blue Yeti...Trying it out
Thank you

Jeah Juna with Timesteps so thankfull for you input
Glad I could help
Thanks for sharing such valuable info .iam new at Tee designing , seeing this video really giving me more perspective .Still i feel my design is not good enough but i can't point myself what's missing ,also for starter which POD site will i pick in 2021 ?
All the best
thank you for your great tips, can you please teach us the effective way to find trend niches and mix them with evergreen ones? also do you recommend to use all of the 5 variations or just the colored one ?
Great suggestion! I recommend you put as many as you can... Each tip can add more to your design. You can stop at any point you want.
@@DetourShirts thank you :)
Composition is important! Great tips. Can you do more on how to draw designs? Thanks.
Absolutely! Coming soon
@@DetourShirts Cool, thanks!
Great tutorial, thank you. It would awesome if you could make a video on how to draw your graphics maybe a little complicated things like cats or dogs, thank you
Sure thing! I have a few already if you look through my old video... but I will make more
@@DetourShirts sure i will :), thanks
Another great video. Thanks Juna. I have a question though. On RB, while positioning our designs, do we top align always? Say, my design is not actually utilizing the whole of 4500x5400 px, what do I do then? Align it center or top alignment?
I usually top align and then bring it down to make sure the design is over the chest... I will depend on the design so you will have to eyeball it
Hi Juna! Another excellent video! Would you mind sharing why you choose to work with CMYK since RGB has a larger and brighter color range? Does affinity designer only work with CMYK? Thank you!😃
Good question! It's because eventually the colors will have to be CMYK when it goes to print. The brighter colors in RGB will have to be turned into something not so bright. I rather know what I'm getting.
@@DetourShirts yes, agreed. So Redbubble and Amazon only print in CMYK? Printful requests their files in RGB but I know some other POD companies only print in CMYK.
Great tips thanks! Where is the best place to get T-shirts printed?
Good question! If you are talking about quality then I would check out Shimmy Morris's channel and all his work on testing quality....ruclips.net/video/dA5WrazF2r8/видео.html
Hi! Great video and trend credit. Do you have a video about how to get that trends tshirts? Thanks!
What do you me "get that trends tshirts"?
@@DetourShirts Sorry, How to find the trends tshirts.
Great video. Is there a place that lists the exact colors of Redbubble shirts? Thanks for all your tips.
Not that I know of... I might have to make a cheat sheet
🙏
Thank you
Thanks Juna, awesome tips. Im going to buy affinity designer based off your videos. I know you show how to use affinity designer in your videos, but do you have any beginners guide to affinity, or starting out in affinity tips and shortcut type videos? Thank again for all your help!!!
Awesome, thank you! I'm working on a beginners guide to affinity
Can't wait for it!
Juna, I wish I could your videos are always so helpful! You've been in this business for quite some time. So, maybe you know the answer: I came across a redbubble shop, opened Jan. this year (not even a month) with 12.000 likes! 250 designs only with geo. patterns, all in the same style, nothing special. Is it realistic, to have such results? Maybe there are ways I dont know.
Sure.. If you know how to drive traffic to it...Yes... 250 designs wouldn't take that long... you get a max of 60 designs a day... It would only take you about 5 days to upload that many.... completely possible.
@@DetourShirts Thanks for the reply. One can upload even more designs in this period. What surprised me A LOT was the number of likes. More than 12.000 likes in max. 25 days for a very medium quality and the same style designs... Even if they got the traffice, I cant believe so many people could like those designs. And almost no followers... Anyway, thanks
@@tinam.9810 I have 1300 likes but only 8 products sold and my likes are from fellow redbubble artist ...I don't know how likes can make a difference..you should see how many people he is following
Very cool. Can I ask how you add the multiple art boards in Affinity Designer so it’s all one one page and you scroll to the right? I can’t figure out how to do this.
Easy. Use the artboard tool..and click insert artboard... you can create as many as you need.
@@DetourShirts Thank you so much. Have a great day!
Hi, I want to ask I'm an artist I have a few artworks I want to put on some shirts but the problem I'm in tier 10 on MBA the only way to get out of tier 10 is chasing trends or I go to upload my artworks to shirts because I see your store you have a lot of Japanese styles art ramen kawaii, etc... I want to do some art like this but is saturated my question is I put my artworks in shirts and wait until get some sales or just do like others do chasing trends ?? and thank you
It's not the only way to get out of tier 10... You could buy your own shirts, you could make shirts for family and friends, you could do evergreen designs and wait. You can design what you want but just realize that just because you like it, it doesn't mean other people will want to buy it. BTW, I don't think the Japanese art is saturated... you just need to have something else that audience will want to buy.
@@DetourShirts thanks man I think about evergreen/holidays
Thanks Juna! When I do text for a shirt, I usually end up with white text having a black outline so that the text will show on all colors of shirts. Is there another way around this problem?
Great question... I like to make 2 versions... I use dark text for light color shirts and light text on dark color shirts
@@DetourShirts Do you make a reference in the description to the other version where they can have a dark/light shirt color? Or do they just figure that out for themselves?
Hi Juna I have followed your advice for my designs let's see now hopefully it should work...I really wanna get a sale all my recent work is much better than what I started as and should I message u my shop name bcoz earlier u said u wanna have a look at it can't post it here as I did last year on some other channel and my shop got closed still don't know why I had only 10 designs that time.
Best of luck!
Hey Juna, do you have a Printful affiliate link? I would use yours if you have one. I'm currently using Printify but would like to try Printful.
I don't have one.. never thought about getting one until now.. Just applied. Thanks for the tip.
@@DetourShirts Okay well I hope you get it, I'll check back on your next video.
