Yeah mine doesnt have a basin nut. It doesn’t look like your neat and tiddy set-up. Thanks lowes for a comprehensive video. It reminds me of videos that over simplifies and then at the end offer installation service because it really didn’t show you much at all to begin with. Again, thanks.
+Javed Ahmad nope, didn't need it here but we've covered it and tape in our DIY Basics video: ruclips.net/video/DAi0qfk5lLA/видео.html Thanks for watching
Typically in this case where on the faucet is being replaced, putty can be used beneath the trim ring so that if any water accumulate on the sink surface, the putty will prevent the water from seeping down into the cabinet area. I use clear silicone. Form a small bead on the sink surface, place the ring down, wipe away any excess with my finger. Makes a nice, tidy seal.
@@superandy2k13 some people don't have the desire or know how to do it even when things are laid out with clear instructions. Also some people just don't have the time for others we are more than glad to learn something new or just do it ourselves.

Not rocket science, but even if everything goes right (and plumbing often does not), this is definitely over simplified! He made no mention of the contortions that you sometimes have to do on your back, IF you can fit inside the vanity/cabinet, reaching three feet up (eye protection and flashlight suggested) in a tight, often congested spot to get to the hold down bolts with a basin wrench, which btw, most of us don't have in our tool box. Nor did he mention the complexity (for a novice) of finding the right shutoff valve in Lowes/Home Depot (there's a myriad of choices) and actually installing them. Sure, plumbers typically overcharge for this service, but they make it seem light anyone can easily replace a faucet. My guess is that its probably well less than 5% of the population that will ever try and succeed.
I wish I could give you a thousand thumbs up. Nearly everything that could go wrong on mine went wrong. Needed to replace the shutoff valve and there are like a thousand choices and it took forever to figure out which one I needed.
@@B.Elliott LOL! Touche', sort of. I'm a Boomer. I've watched many faucet replacements over the years. or if there's so much rust or corrosion or hard water deposit that the nut is a lost cause. i had to use a hack saw to remove mine because the nut on the bottom was so calcified! there's no basin wrench on the planet that could've turned that one.

There's not enough swearing and frustrated dad's in these intructional videos.
I literally spent hours on the parts they skipped.
I’m about to start a string of Christmas Eve f bombs.
Surprised my hubby when he got home. He works too hard for me to bug him with these things. Great video.

The music made this video hard to listen to the instructions
Do you need plumber's putty for the spray handle? I didn't see you put any, but I wanted to make sure.

you did not mention plumbers putty.

Whats the name of the tool to remove the nut that hold all the hose to the bottom of the sink?
The tool at 1:08 is called a basin wrench: www.lowes.com/pd/BrassCraft-11-in-Basin-Wrench/999903617
What is name of the background music for this video?
It's a stock track. Thanks for watching.

What brand/type faucet was this?
Nathan Fisher sorry, we don't have the item number for the faucet in the video, here's one that looks similiar: low.es/2r5lmCB. Thanks for watching.
How repair leaky main valve
The one they put in was a delta faucet
The one thing that was not said was can you install the tap with the handle on the left
I did mine on the left. No reason why you can't turn it around the way you want it.
u dont need caulk or putty?
Yeah.... I think I will just call someone to put it in....
Yeah it's better to spend $300 than to turn a couple nuts yourself.
