Im picking up Lars as my second after getting decently familiar with Yoshi, this is so intuitive and I love how you provide the setups associated with the moves. My biggest issue is Lars is ugly as hell

At which part are you getting that input. If it's at the start of the combo, at the While Rising 3 input. What you need to do is right after you press the 3 button, press and hold down. Lars will do a little twist, then press the 2 button. So it's While Rising 3, down, then the 2 button. Not While Rising 3, then down and 2. If this is not the issue you're having, no worries, let me know we'll figure it out.
I just came across this guide (a couple minutes in) and I just want to say that this is by far the best one I've seen so far. Nice and clear pace, good sound and PUTTING THE ACTUAL INPUT ON THE SCREEN! THANK YOU! I've watched far too many where it sounds like a guy sitting in a dresser talking through a potato and just rambling buttons "oh yeah use thisthisthisandthis for jabbing" and you cant really tell where one input ends and another begins. As I main Lars I will come back to this video again and again to try and improve.

always hated tekken but my buddy brought tekken 8 for the PS5 today and as soon as i picked lars, things just clicked. immediately bought the game and once it arrives in a few days, i'll be coming back to this video to watch it again. super informative!
Sorry for the delayed reply. You get access to the stage by doing this. Go to DESCENT INTO SUBCONSCIOUS Stage. Then go to Restart Settings: Restart Position. Select Default 3, then reset the stage.
Thank you for this vid, helps a lot, for the first few combos you showed the entire string at once, but near the end you showed the buttons as they were executed, might be easier for people to absorb if all the combos shown were shown like near the end, appearing as they are executed. But overall great video my dude.
You can play him similar to what he was in T7, but they made him more confusing for his opponent to understand. It's still risky to do a lot of stuff, but its made better by a lot of real, and fake mix ups.
Magnetic Knee is an S tier move. As a noob who can't do long combos but can react fast, I win against triple S+ players by doing magnetic knee after my incoherent attack strings. If it works against them then it'll work on anybody lmao
Ngl I was considering learning Lars but I main Yoshi and Yoshi takes a lot so I was feeling lazy about also learning a second character but after watching this I feel like I already know how to play him now. You deserve credit for the quality here it was easy to digest
I will tell you the real reason why this video was a good tutorial. Instead of going through all the nonsense moves, you straightaway mentioned the best moves and how and when to use them and what to do with them. This makes it easy to remember and actually apply in the matches. Good Job!
A good tip for beginners too if your having issues hitting forward in time to go from a silent entry move into dynamic entry move while doing the silent entry move you can hold forward the whole time and it will read it immediately and go into dynamic entry

So far you do a greater job than most creators that just take streams from their clips with no further explanation on the combos, I know that most people are familiar with the tekken numeration and terminology, but there are some people out there that don't know jack shit, good shit.
I felt that the community was missing a certain way of showing Tekken, I know exactly what you mean. It's why I started the channel. Hope the guide was helpful.
Everyone in this game is beefier roided up version of their Tekken 7 selves. It's difficult to tell, but I will say Lars relative to Tekken 7 is stronger despite losing a few strings. It's now more about 50/50s. True and fake. He can be honest, or hyper frustrate his opponent with perceived trickiness. Even if the tricks, aren't real. If someone were to say top 15, I wouldn't argue with that at the moment.
You know its so beautiful when creators actually care about newbies who might not know the difference of WR (which comminly known as While Standing as Tekken community terms and shown as WS) and WR(commonly known as While Running). You corrected any new players, trying to do a WR3 from crouch block and scratch their head why it didnt work. Kudos. Keep going Emperor, godspeed. PS, maybe try and upload some clips of your Lars gameplay.

The market of Tekken gameplay videos is oversaturated, I think it would hurt my channel and take away from a unique experience. So I'll hold off on that for now. This is EXACTLY what I'm looking for in a starter guide to a character. Here's some good buttons, here's how you might use them. Here's a few combos at a couple distances. If I were to offer a criticism, and you did this a little bit, maybe offer some advice on the combos. "You can mash df2 here, don't worry about timing it", "You have to input f3,1,2 really quickly to get it to come out", as some examples. Overall fantastic video, great work dude.

This is probably the best character guide I’ve checked out,I’m still learning tekken and I’ll probably just learn Lars and stick with him but I love that you use the term shadowboxing 😭 it called me out so bad but I’m learning my spacing and to pay attention to my opponent, now I need to learn my character!

Id love something like this for Kazuya. This guide is so easy to learn with and read you've done a good job at explaining things in simple terms. All the other Tekken guides act like I've been playing the game for years and just know when to combine what moves with what.

His df4 has never been listed either I feel like lol
One million thank yous for your words first and foremost. And I guess at one point Lars DF1 was considered/still is considered to be a generic move. But Paul's DF2 was unlisted in T7, yet it's listed now, so who knows right? Haha. I hope DF4 is replaced with something more useful, but yeah also unlisted for some reason.

What would anyone suggest for learning all of this. do I just pick one combo route to take and then keep practising until I’ve mastered it until I move on to the next one Also with things like down back 2,1 on d-pad I find it miss inputs a lot for me, is it a case of me just having to learn how to feel it out or are there any little tricks to make sure it’s consistent. Separately this was quite a good guide, I’ll be working my way thorough it gradually
Firstly, thanks for the kind words and checking out the video. I'd say pick one combo and work on it. Work on doing it in a real match, and if you're having trouble with a certain part, like with down back 2,1, don't worry about the whole combo, just that one part first. After a while, you will naturally have the timing down. I personally tend to slide my thumb across the 2, 1 buttons when doing combos, however, this isn't a trick as much as it is finding what works for you to get the combo consistently. Try out slightly direct timing and perhaps the way you press buttons. This can also help you correct errors.

This is actually the most informative guide i've watched for Tekken 8, and i'm a beginner who has watched SO MANY. You talked about when to use or insert, what exactly makes these moves special (forces crouch, crumples), what to do when it gets blocked, and most especially frame advantages. Shit made me rethink how I play Lars just following other guides cause they only tell me what to do but never told me why I should do it.
Your words are exactly why I started making guides. I too, often find guides will tell the player what moves are good, what not why they're good, and why the player should use them and where. It's so awesome that guide came across as intended! Thanks for checking it out.

The problem with DEN 3 even if is +3 on block oponent can easily micro ssl in to block all the options of Lars making all of they wiff or get blocked. So isn't that strong imo. And now him lost a lot of CH tools him had before like ws2,(2).
Side stepping Lars is still a weakness of his, point taken, but at the beginner level, even intermediate and above, most folks challenge Lars buttons or if they ssl, Entangling Ejector, Electric Volley, and Lightning Axle will be there to greet them. However those who really know how to play against Lars at high level, give Lars trouble for sure. I miss the CH stuff, but he is still fun.
I have an intermediate look at some things next. And then a guide for advanced players dropping after that. So I hope it all helps you in ranked! Go get em.
Lol. To be fair, unfortunately in terms of effective combo paths, these are the easier combos, however, I got cha covered, go through the combo challenges in practice mode, that will really help you get started!
@@essential67 I get it, Tekken is filled with these types of inputs, and it can be difficult to get your fingers used to the inputs, but the combo challenges in practice mode do train the fingers and the mind to sync up. Another method is just doing a part of the combo, not the whole thing, but maybe the first few hits, and then add bit more little by little as for get more comfortable and timing down.
@@NewWaveTEKKEN I did one of those and remember it. It does 65 dmg (its not as good as what you got here dmg wise), but man some of these combos on him be having hella diagonals and shit. Keep droppin em. Kinda thinking maybe I should have picked someone else

The market of Tekken gameplay videos is oversaturated, I think it would hurt my channel and take away from a unique experience. So I'll hold off on that for now. But Thank you for your input, and thank you for being a member.
This is EXACTLY what I'm looking for in a starter guide to a character. Here's some good buttons, here's how you might use them. Here's a few combos at a couple distances.
If I were to offer a criticism, and you did this a little bit, maybe offer some advice on the combos. "You can mash df2 here, don't worry about timing it", "You have to input f3,1,2 really quickly to get it to come out", as some examples.

This video is beautiful. Put my Steve down cause I’m new and he makes my brain overheat. I practiced with Lars using your video and went into rank and went on a 12 game win streak off three moves 2,1 mix up, b4, and db4 LMAO. I still suck but I’m addicted to tekken now thank you good sir.

This is probably the best character guide I’ve checked out,I’m still learning tekken and I’ll probably just learn Lars and stick with him but I love that you use the term shadowboxing 😭 it called me out so bad but I’m learning my spacing and to pay attention to my opponent, now I need to learn my character!

Id love something like this for Kazuya. This guide is so easy to learn with and read you've done a good job at explaining things in simple terms. All the other Tekken guides act like I've been playing the game for years and just know when to combine what moves with what.

Also why the hell is df1 unlisted 😂 weird in the game that lists so many previously unlisted moves, Lars’ df1 of all things is unlisted.

One million thank yous for your words first and foremost. And I guess at one point Lars DF1 was considered/still is considered to be a generic move. But Paul's DF2 was unlisted in T7, yet it's listed now, so who knows right? Haha. I hope DF4 is replaced with something more useful, but yeah also unlisted for some reason.

What would anyone suggest for learning all of this. do I just pick one combo route to take and then keep practising until I’ve mastered it until I move on to the next one Also with things like down back 2,1 on d-pad I find it miss inputs a lot for me, is it a case of me just having to learn how to feel it out or are there any little tricks to make sure it’s consistent. Separately this was quite a good guide, I’ll be working my way thorough it gradually
Firstly, thanks for the kind words and checking out the video. I'd say pick one combo and work on it. Work on doing it in a real match, and if you're having trouble with a certain part, like with down back 2,1, don't worry about the whole combo, just that one part first.
After a while, you will naturally have the timing down. I personally tend to slide my thumb across the 2, 1 buttons when doing combos, however, this isn't a trick as much as it is finding what works for you to get the combo consistently.
Try out slightly direct timing and perhaps the way you press buttons. This can also help you correct errors.

This is actually the most informative guide i've watched for Tekken 8, and i'm a beginner who has watched SO MANY. You talked about when to use or insert, what exactly makes these moves special (forces crouch, crumples), what to do when it gets blocked, and most especially frame advantages. Shit made me rethink how I play Lars just following other guides cause they only tell me what to do but never told me why I should do it.
Your words are exactly why I started making guides. I too, often find guides will tell the player what moves are good, what not why they're good, and why the player should use them and where. It's so awesome that guide came across as intended! Thanks for checking it out.

As a result of what you do, you've actually introduced me to the concept of frame traps in a very non-technical, frama data threatening way. Kudos to you man.

The problem with DEN 3 even if is +3 on block oponent can easily micro ssl in to block all the options of Lars making all of they wiff or get blocked.
So isn't that strong imo.
And now him lost a lot of CH tools him had before like ws2,(2).
Side stepping Lars is still a weakness of his, point taken, but at the beginner level, even intermediate and above, most folks challenge Lars buttons or if they ssl, Entangling Ejector, Electric Volley, and Lightning Axle will be there to greet them. However those who really know how to play against Lars at high level, give Lars trouble for sure. I miss the CH stuff, but he is still fun.

Lol. To be fair, unfortunately in terms of effective combo paths, these are the easier combos, however, I got cha covered, go through the combo challenges in practice mode, that will really help you get started!

@@essential67 I get it, Tekken is filled with these types of inputs, and it can be difficult to get your fingers used to the inputs, but the combo challenges in practice mode do train the fingers and the mind to sync up.
Another method is just doing a part of the combo, not the whole thing, but maybe the first few hits, and then add bit more little by little as for get more comfortable and timing down.
@@NewWaveTEKKEN I did one of those and remember it. It does 65 dmg (its not as good as what you got here dmg wise), but man some of these combos on him be having hella diagonals and shit. Keep droppin em. Kinda thinking maybe I should have picked someone else
