Nelson, I'd love to start seeing more care videos! Obviously, you're doing an amazing job at caring for your collection, and a lot of us could benefit from seeing what you do day to day to care for them. Just a thought, but what do I know?😊 Thank you, Nelson! Your collection is unbelievably magnificent! 😍
Thank you. I don’t really do allot of care and maintenance like before. Orchids tend to be less maintenance the longer you keep them. But I am planning on doing some care videos this year. 👍🏼
Who is this guy? He's amazing. I've only just found this site in the last few weeks. Can't stop watching 😊. Keep it green, Nelson. Love from the UK 🇬🇧 ❤
I’m giving you a compliment bc you’re right up there with Mercedes, everything is just stunning. How you do it all I’ll never know, it’s just dedication to something that you love. Thank you 💚💚💚
I have such great respect for you and how you are dedicated to your orchids. Your farm is big and your collection is huge. I can hardly keep up with mine small collection.
Como siempre Nelson tus orquídeas son un sueño! Me encanta la organización que tienes entre todas las variedades q tienes! Súper buen trabajo👏🏻👌👍FELICIDADES!!!
Everything looks so happy and healthy. You're literally in paradise. The phal house OMG. I swear I heard a cow and a rooster in the distance. Thank you for sharing all this beauty with us. ❤😊

Hope to see you soon at the Apopka Spring International Orchid Festival. Many thanks.
Hi Nelson 😊💕Hope you are doing well. I spent today catching up on your videos. I enjoyed every one. I was blown away by your phals 🤩 I've improved a lot with cattleyas but I'm still killing phals though 😅 Happy 3rd anniversary🥳 and Happy birthday 🎉🎊 I look forward to seeing another year of your awesome videos. Thanks so much for all that you have given to us, your viewers. I grow and learn watching every video. Saludos desde Trinidad y Tobago 😎🌴☀️💕
Hi Nicole! Don’t worry too much about killing the phals. I had to kill thousands before I could figure them out. Ever since I put them in my Quicktent, I’ve seen a huge improvement. Also not water too much. Only once they dry out do I water. Most people keep them moist 24/7. That’s the big mistake. Let them dry out a bit and water agiain. They do love to be fed so feed throughout Spring and Summer.
You will love that orchid in your collection. Mine is always spiking and blooming. The flowers last a long time and the fragrance is intense. One of my top favorites. 💚
Gorgeous, gorgeous gorgeous😊❤, your hard work is really paying off. I agree with you. I love phal.💖. and I think that how my orchid obsession started . thank you for your beautiful video and your precious time.😊
Wow , your orchid collection is absolutely beautiful ❤ your orchids bloom often. I do feed mine every 2 weeks but they don't bloom ygat often. I think I need to change to weekly. Thank uou for sharing. I live your channel 😊
Lighting is key. The brighter the light, the bigger and more abundant your blooms a will be. No direct sun tho. Some orchids will blister and dry up. Specially Phalaeonopsis and Bulbophyllums. Vandas and Dendrobiums can sometimes handle direct sun when acclimated properly. 💚👍🏼
Great video the den anosmum cross that you got as a gift love😍. And the phals are really putting on a show that phal schilleriana is what dreams are made of 🥰 amazing 🤩!
I’m still learning a few things on the aquacaping. It’s not as easy as one thinks. But I will tell you I got some beautiful fancy guppies that have bred over 300 babies so far in my 40gal. breeder tank. I can’t wait to see what new colors I will get. Perhaps I’ll sell some to fish collectors.
Awesome video. The orchids are beautiful. How do you get your phals to bloom so well. I killed about 10 last year. I have one now so I am still trying. Help !!!!
I’ve. Even growing Phals for over 35 years. I’ve killed so many that I should have gotten a life sentence at orchid court. But it’s how I learned. Observation is key. Water when needed. Leave alone when moist or wet. Do not place in direct light. Basic factors. Feed in Spring and Summer.
Your Phalaenopsis schilleriana is breathtaking. Would you consider doing a highlight video on it and some of your other large phals, e.g. Mok Choi Yew, amboinensis, etc? If you could go into details about the history of the plant in your care, you current growing conditions and practices etc, that would be awesome. You are an excellent grower .
Thank you. That’s in the future plans. There is so much I want to cover but so little time. The future looks bright and your wishes may be granted very soon. 🤗💚👍🏼
All my phals are spiking right now 😊 my pinlong cheris has two spikes which I’m so excited about lol it smells amazing. Also I’m like you with the cranberry and yellow….except it’s gold and purple for me. I’ve been searching for years trying to get a Miltonia Sandy’s cove but no luck. But I just ordered an epidendrum wallisii lol not an oncidium but the flowers are yellow and purple 😌❤️👍
Such a coincidence today .. before watching this video I checked on my Phal. schilleriana, which, as you describe this when it was new, has been sulking along with only 2 leaves and no obvious growth all winter. (It's New York, after all .. I silk all winter too.) But today, she has the tiniest little suggestion of a new leaf starting! So, seeing your schilleriana and hearing your reassurance was so timely! Can I feature her in my blog? It will be funny and illuminating to place her next to a pic of my tiny, shy one and see what can happen in a few years. Beautiful blooms, as always, Nelson! Thanks and congrats on a rich, varied collection!
Don’t loose the faith. Mine was so tiny when I got her. Also she went through the wringer during the heavy cold spells we had 3 years ago. You may use my Phal in your blog. 👍🏼
Thank you for the thumbs up on using part of the video! I imagine the schilleriana did not like the cold, just like all of us with Filipino blood . . . I'm going to try to be brave about putting my plants out as soon as nighttime temps allow it here, but it's like sending your first child off to nursery school 😅@@naturenel
That was me asking about that phal fairy tale joy Ur aussie mate haha , I hear a cow near by haha, thx for sharing nel, ps can u send me a piece of fairy tale ? Can't get it in Australia grrrrrr😂
@@naturenel haha unfortunately the only way growers can import from Taiwan is flasks , I've contacted several growers none can get one 😆 about that cow is it next door ? 😄
Yes! Take them off the mount and do that. I’ve saved so many that way from mounts. Like my Tejas Giant. I had it on the same mount that I now have the yellow dancing ladies Oncidium. Turned out the Oncidium went from death to thriving on the mount. My Tejas went from death to terracotta pot, Spag moss, and styrofoam bits, and thriving.
Nelson, when you show your blooming plants, can you share what medium do you use please. In some of them you actually do show and it’s helping out big time. I have many species and some of them are very finicky😢
Nelson great blooms video, enjoyed it a lot! Love your P.shileriana, so many blooms and I could imagine the scent must be amazing! Can you show us whenever you want to repot or remount it or have done it since you put it on mount few years ago?
I will be doing Phal repotting very soon I’ve been busy with the new improvements in the greenhouse. Once I’m all settled in, I’ll be doing that episode. 👍🏼
I do have a professional water buffer for the house. It’s an $8K system. We have one of the cleanest drinking water as per the inspector. I need to invest in another water cleaning system for the garden pumps. But with this crazy inflation it will cost me double. As per now I’ll have to deal with water spots.
Hey Nelson, your quick tent is exploding with blooms. So beautiful! What's the name of the piano tune playing on the video when you were in the quick tent? It's an appropriate tune for showing all those lovely blooms. Great growing.
Interestingly enough the piano song is called “Orchids” by Diamond and Ice. I did invest last year in buying the licenses of hundreds of songs. That’s why you now hear more music in my episodes. These songs are made by very credible artist so the music is very well produced and doesn’t sound amiture. Super awesome music company. I was searching for music titled “orchid” and that piano song came up. It’s perfect. 🥰
Beautiful video as usual . I learnt so much everytime I watched them. The phalaenopsis that has the outstanding appearance is called phalaenopsis wild peach. Check it out. By the way I would greatly appreciate if you can do a demo on your repotting of phalaenopsis. I am a hit and miss with them and I have been growing them for the past 20 years. I am in South Florida like you maybe what you do may help me. Thanks and many blessings.❤Happy growing On Vd
Thanks for the identification 👍🏼🙏🏼💚 You will be seeing repotting of Phals very soon. I have to repot a couple that are still in plastic. Surprisingly they are doing well. I just have to wait for the blooms to die off in summer.
You have so many blooms! They are all beautiful, love your dens and you phals omg what a show congratulations! You are doing an amazing job taking care of your garden 💚. Viendo tus phals veo tantos de los mios que perdi. Me pone feliz ver los tuyos tan lindos y floreciendo pero me da tristesa a la vez pensar q perdi tanto. No me recupero 😢 I saw your bulbophyllum graveolens and I noticed some yellowish or discoloration on the leaves. Mine has it too. Any idea what it might be?
Hello Niury! How are you? Thank you for the th compliments. My Phals have been a working process. I’ve lost so many as well in the past. But the Quicktent and my repotting made a huge difference. As far as the yellowing on Bulbo leaves I believe is normal. Mine shot 4 new bulbs and that’s when one of the older leaves began to yellow.
@@naturenel hi Nelson! Im good, mas perdida q la carne de vaca en Cuba 😁 how are you? My bulbo too has given me beautiful gigant leaves and I see the oldest with that discoloration. I guess it is normal then. Thank u 💚
Another great video! I really enjoyed seeing all the blooms, and i liked the addition of the background music. It is suttle as well, which is perfect. May i ask, does the greenhouse allow rain to fall through the ceiling, or is it impremeable? How do you keep the potted orchids' roots from staying too wet when the daily rains begin in a few months?
Thanks for your feedback. I’m adding new elements to my editing to make it more engaging and professional. The tent is solid. No water goes in there. That’s why they do well there. Outdoors Phals can not get too wet in the rain. It will rot them. Unless on tress mounted. But not in pots.
Hi Nelson, I too have a phal and have left the keiki on the top not unlike yours. Both mother and keiki flower for me. Word is you should remove the keiki or the mother plant will die. Goes to show, you never know unless you give it a go. 😁
Yes. Always remove the keikis. I’m doing all my repotting after blooming season. That’s when I remove all keikis and pot them. All my keikis are blooming together with the mother plant. It’s amazing.
Woah! Those blooms! Speactacular! I really want to have this kind of set up when I grow up! Like a big lot with a decent sized house and lots of garden space for Orchids and other plants! 🤩💚 Also I Think the tolumnia from 8:55 is mislabeled? I recently got the Red Spread Variety and it's not like this~ It's a Bright Red with white spots along the edge of the lip! I also double checked that by researching! I suspect yours is a Tolumnia Big Bang? You can check it on the internet if ever! Just my observation~ 💚
Hi Nelson, please if you don’t my how big is your green house and where can I buy one like yours, I will really appreciate if you will provide the information it will be very helpful. Thank You 😊
The only greenhouse we did not make is our Quicktent where I have all my Phalaeonopsis. You can find them in the link below. www.quictents.com/. The other shade houses we build ourselves.
Because I now have 4 cats that are always in the garden. Morris is not friendly to other cats so he moved back next door. He’s really my neighbors cat. We both feed him. lol!
Hi i love your orchids and the set up i was wondering i have a vanda that i wanted to try and grow i live in South Carolina we have high temperatures in the summer and the winter nights go down to 20's/30's do you think if i can grow the vanda outside year round any advice will be much appreciated
Hello. Unfortunately Vandas will not grow year round outdoors in any other state but Florida. And even in Florida it is limited. Only from the southern point can we grow outdoors. With that said you can grow Vandas outdoors if you are able to bring them indoors during cold spells. They can handle down to the 50’s for a very short period. Leaves do yellow when it’s cold. I know of people growing them outdoors in Canada. But as soon as fall comes in they take them indoors to a greenhouse temperature controlled in the high 70’s to low 80’s. Humidity is important to so humidifiers at a must at no less than 60% to 70%.
FYI that 'hiccup' is the phone changing cameras lenses. When you physically move the camera closer, you surpass the normal focal length and it has to switch to a lens with a shorter focal length in order to focus. If you 'zoom' in, that switch is less noticeable.
Nelson, I love how you share videos of your growing life, your orchid care videos are so useful to me!🥰 I would like to invite you to try our product. I have sent a message to your IG or email. Please reply if interested.😃

@@naturenel hi Nelson! Im good, mas perdida q la carne de vaca en Cuba 😁 how are you? My bulbo too has given me beautiful gigant leaves and I see the oldest with that discoloration. I guess it is normal then. Thank u 💚
Hi Nelson do you keep your dend’s in lava rock?
By the way I just looove your gardens and your videos are awesome. ❤
Yes I do! I use lava rock and charcoal. Sometimes I like to add sponge rock.
Hi Nelson, Do you water or fertilize your orchids on the tree, thank you.
He’s. Everything gets fertilized and watered.
thank you,@@naturenel
Hola Nelson, I love your orchid collection. Where did you buy the phalaenopsis at 51:42 and what is the name? Gracias.
I actually got that giant Phal at a place called A Heavenly Garden on Krome Ave in the Redlands. Very hard to find tho. I got that 6 years ago
Also I Think the tolumnia from 8:55 is mislabeled? I recently got the Red Spread Variety and it's not like this~ It's a Bright Red with white spots along the edge of the lip!
I also double checked that by researching! I suspect yours is a Tolumnia Big Bang? You can check it on the internet if ever! Just my observation~ 💚
Thank you so much. I will check online. I do know sometimes if their grown from seedlings the flowers do differ.
Hey Nelson ❤❤❤❤ I hope you do an anthurium video soon I have killed many King and Queen Anthurium and I just lost any chance or hope of growing them 😢
👍🏼
Hi Nelson, please if you don’t my how big is your green house and where can I buy one like yours, I will really appreciate if you will provide the information it will be very helpful.
Thank You 😊
The only greenhouse we did not make is our Quicktent where I have all my Phalaeonopsis. You can find them in the link below.
www.quictents.com/.
The other shade houses we build ourselves.
Hi Nelson how often do you water your shilleriana that is mounted ?
Every single day. Mounted orchids dry up quickly.
Awesome video! How do you differentiate between Vanda and Mokara?
Vanda pedals are rounder in shape. Also their leaf formation is usually thinner. Thinner leaves on a Vanda or Mokara means it’s more sun resistant.
why i didn't see morris anymore?
Thank you I will bring it inside when the temperature goes down in the fall
FYI that 'hiccup' is the phone changing cameras lenses. When you physically move the camera closer, you surpass the normal focal length and it has to switch to a lens with a shorter focal length in order to focus. If you 'zoom' in, that switch is less noticeable.
I know exactly why it does it. My argument is why have they not fixed that annoying glitch that no one likes. 😖
Oh thanks a million Nelson for another What's in Bloom! It was simply amazing also loving all those amazing phaleanopsis!
55:40 the way it actually looks like a face with glasses and a mustache 😂
Lol!🤓
Do you have grammatophyllum too?
I have a couple including a mini gram that bloomed allot this year.
That first Tolumnia is mislabelled. It is most certainly not a Red Spread. It is a Big Bang.
Thank you! I will relabel it👍🏼
That vendor is hiding. He couldn't risk you showing h8s face on air .
😂
