When I am “alone” I am ALL One. The moments I felt lonely is when I was in a lack mindset. While I was feeling incomplete/lack and separation from Source. Rumi said it best: “The minute I heard my first love story, I started looking for you, not knowing how blind that was. Lovers don't finally meet somewhere. They're in each other all along.” Why are you seeking outside of yourself to feel whole? You are that which you are seeking. What you want is already within you. After all, there would be no Universe without a YOU. I started seeking who I am, and why I am. Then I spontaneously stumbled on the pathless path of self Inquiry- it did something unexpected- it showed me that my true nature is limitless, eternal, untouchable, undifferentiated and infinite. It is important to get along when being alone, but it is also important to find someone. Being single all your life is a really stupid, even dangerous, idea because this will destroy society in the medium run. We're already seeing it all around, and we need it to stop.
I’m more than happy being single (again). You need to experience at least a few longer term relationships to really understand who is going to compatible for you in the long run. First rule: be your true self from day one 🍻

It was his birthday not long ago and I wished him happy birthday, and I said I know he doesn't want a hug so I'll give him a distance one, and he said, "I don't need one because I already have everything." I think he misheard me and heard copine (French for girlfriend) and not câlin (French for hug) as his first language is French. He has been single for a long time (last relationship was in his late 20s) and he just turned 35. He doesn't need to be in a relationship to have everything. Thanks for explaining it better. I'm going to be 42 this year and I told him my true feelings for him after I was diagnosed with cancer (been in remission for two years now as I type this), and he knows he is the man of my dreams, but I also respect his vow to remain single. His parents have accepted that he will remain single but they know I love him more than anything (I have been in love with him for YEARS) and also know I respect his wishes to remain single. It wracked my brain as to what he meant, but when I contacted my Mum to discuss it, it took me the whole night while I was sleeping to understand what he meant. Not wanting a hug because he has everything? So when I contacted my Mum the next day, I told her that he got the words mixed up, we had a miscommunication. Now I understand. We love each other, even though he loves me as a friend. He doesn't need to be in a relationship to have everything. He does have everything: love for his family and us friends and fishing, work, independence. We're both single by choice but for different reasons. Although I did try dating but would always end up as friends or they wouldn't bother due to how I look (so I haven't had a boyfriend/been in a relationship), but I found self love at 37, and I feel GREAT!!

If you have something to focus on and master, a labour of love, then you can more happily cultivate a loving relationship with yourself. Then add your bliss to another's bliss for a bliss explosion. 😊
You are correct, maybe we are tough from a young age that having a wife and children is what life is all about. After I divorced from 25 years. I do feel that necessity of having a partner, but at the same time you are correct, maybe is not about finding a perfect partner, I do wish I could find the way of breaking that belief, this would make me free and finally happy.
I'm single and very happy with myself! I can do whatever and whenever I want! I can go on Vacations anywhere I wish, if I choose not to cook I can dine at restaurants or even order in, I can sleep and get up whenever I want. I DON'T need a man for ANYTHING! I please myself in EVERY way! This IS my happiest and best life with my two beautiful birds!
I'm gorgeous, well educated, have a great job, in amazing shape, I still can't meet anyone I want to build a life with. I'm starting to surrender to the idea where I just need to have a bunch of lovers I'm not close to.

If your only passion isnt being in love, God can give you other things for you to realize he can give you what you want to be happy, alot of the time its the people who want something to confirm they can have the highest thing they have in their values to know tht something thats as important, usually as an aesthetic, is possible. Its the people who want perfection to be possible, tht want something to prove it in some sort of destiny, or some destined perfection in life, that either allows them to settle for that, or make the rest on their own.

I agree, it is called unconditional love, where you accept the person as they are, flaws and all.
