Now I am good at guitar. Also performed in many stages and won colors. But this was the first video that helped me in the past when I didn't have tuner. I was almost quit. This video saved my musical journey. Thank you once again.
Hi !!!! I am just a beginner guitar player and i am learning guitar online most rather than reading book !! Since reading is not my favorite one ....!!! I had watched a few of your guitar tutorial and i found that they were very helpful for beginner like me !!!! The reason i like your tutorials was you had explain every steps very basic, clear, and patient....!!! I wanted thanks to your since after i had watched some of your tutorial but anyway i did it !!!!! Thank your very much and always supporting you for your upcoming tutorials !!!!!!!!!!!!
I looked for so many people to teach a beginner & you're by far the BEST! You're very comprehensive & it was super easy to tune even though I've never played guitar! :)
This tutorial was so helpful! I've never played guitar, I just got one, and when I first sat down I was really daunted. Like, what am I doing here, I can't do this! I'm so glad I found your video - your tips and tricks were helpful, easy to understand, and just very encouraging. Thank you!
Really nice and sweet teacher and really well explained. This is all really basic for me because i already know all of this but it's really good to know there are people out there who are capable of explaining their knowledge real clean so everybody can understand what they're listening so, great stuff lady and kee it up.
hello ellen, thank u so much for your videos. i am a beginner and i love watching your guitar tutorials. i cant suggest whats next to your videos cuz i dont have ideas yet cuz im a beginner. thank u so much again. i am from the Philippines.
Hi I'm completely new at the guitar and I can't afford lessons so I'm trying to teach myself. I'm stuck with the tuning. I can never get the strings to exactly match the tuner sound. It's either slightly too high or slightly too low. And then when I use the by-hand/ear method (fifth fret should match the sound of the next string) to check if I've tuned it right, I'm completely off from the tuner method. How do I fix this problem? Am I only supposed to use one method?
Id recommend smartChord app, which has a tuner that also shows you which note corresponds with which peg and you can choose the type of tuning. Its set to standard tuning by default but theres tons of other ways and theres more features that can be helpful for learning too. PitchLab and Waves are good tuning apps too.
very helpful tutorial. I have been using DA tuner downloaded from Playstore on my android it works just fine. You don't even have to listen to notes and match them, the tuner shows the noted on the screen.
This was an Excellent video!! Thank you so much for teaching how to tune a guitar. I've been playing for a while but never knew how to tune a guitar by ear. ❤️🙏🏼😍😘
I have a built up guitar tuner and I didn't really know how to tune my guitar strings ( beginner ) but this tutorial really helped. Thank you Ellen! ^·^
I really appreciate your way of teaching... Very helpful, you make it very interesting and easy... Even if I can't turn my guitar yet by myself, I'm sure I'll.. Thanks very much...
I dont know if you know this, but in Norway its a little bit different. "B" is called "H" in Norway. I dont know why its like that, but i dont care :P To remember them, i used this: En Annen Dag Gikk Hun Ensomt. In English that means: One Other Day She Walked Lonely (Im not that good in English, but i think that will be right translated :P So, now you know how its in Norway :)
I really want to be good in this thing. I can't afford to go to school with guitar lessons that's why I'm learning by my own, I thought it was easy but God its really hard.. I'm so desperate but watching this really inspires me to be patient and hopefully someday I could get there... It will be a long journey for me, but like what you've said, "PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT" and I do believe that.. Good luck to me. Lol #KeepBelieving #KeepLearning
I used a website to tune my guitar, but when I strum it, it doesn't sound like yours. It almost has the same melody, but not quite. What website did you use?
Hi. Just wonder if the string wind toward inside. Will it put tension on the string ? cause my Strings keep breaking while trying to tune to the right note or chord.
very good tutorial for most beginners, thanks for sharing. If you guys use Mac Os and have Garage Band installed, you can tune your guitar using the Tuner part in that software, it'll be easier
I found a bunch of guitar tuner apps in the play store on my galaxy phone. It helps when you're in a pinch and it is really close to the actual sound. The color changes and turns green when ur on key. The app was free too. Hope that helps
This was a great video. I'm new. But I'm still confused what if my string is a G and then guitar tuner says it is an A. Each time I tune it, it changes only to A or E. I'm confused. Same goes for B and high e, the guitar tuner thinks it is another letter key note. What should I do? How do you fix this? Thanks!
Ok, (almost) total beginner here and i have a question about changing strings. I have a bass guitar that i'm learning to play and i would like to change the strings as i want to try flatwound strings. I have an electronic tuner and my question is this. Once i have changed the strings and i'm starting to tune the bass. Lets say the E string. When i pluck the string and look at the tuner, how do i know if it is the correct E that i am seeing on the tuner and not too low or high, if you know what i mean? I'm not explaining this very well, and i'm sure i look like a bit of a gimp asking, but hey, if you don't ask you never learn anything right? Like if the tuner says "D", do i tune past D# and stop at the next E i come to? How do i know that is the correct E and that i don't have to go past it and all the other notes (F, F#, G, G# ETC) until i get all the way to E again?
Thank you this was so helpful I would have never thought of looking up a guitar tuner on the internet. Not to mention i didn't need to use a piano......which i don't have so thanks
One tip of you are a beginner !! Have extra strings around because I had a problem where I didn't recognize if the cord matched and I broke most of them and I waited 4 months for new strings. So I recommend for beginners to have extra and yea 😃
There's an extremely complicated and technical reason digital tuners aren't 100% accurate, but unless you are a professional musician, it is probably going to be just fine.
Hi guys, I just bought a guitar and I wanna learn online but I found it really hard especially how tune it and how to know if your guitar need to be tuned . Can anyone help me please

hi cutie ellen, what if i just stretch all the strings and put on the capo is my guitar tuned already? if the other strings are new and the others are old is it more harder to tune my guitar?
Now I am good at guitar. Also performed in many stages and won colors. But this was the first video that helped me in the past when I didn't have tuner. I was almost quit. This video saved my musical journey. Thank you once again.

the online websites that i found do a different sound as yours, does it still works anyway?

What about using a digital tuner? I already have one but I'm not really sure how reliable is it... ;_;
From my experience its just as accurate :)
There's an extremely complicated and technical reason digital tuners aren't 100% accurate, but unless you are a professional musician, it is probably going to be just fine.
