As someone who just played for the first time (in person at a real table) I’m 24 I lost $200 after playing for about 2 hours and stopped myself from playing more because I’m poor enough. You’re not wrong for the most part I’d say the highs of making money or even just breaking even beat all the lows. All I’d say is just have the self conscious to leave when you know you’ve lost enough. To many people just keep going after that.

If you stay in 16 when the dealer has a Jack showing, you will lose more times than win. If the down card is a 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K, or A, you lose automatically. If it’s any other card, the dealer has another chance to take a card to beat you. You only win if the dealer gets a 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6, followed by a card large enough to bust.
