      Hi Ashray,
Thank you heaps for checking out this video. It's a powerful little pedal, which a decent amount of options. Hopefully you find my other videos helping and informative.

Thanks Animal Mother, it's a pretty rad pedal for such a tiny pedal.
I haven't brought it out for a while now, I think I'm due for another video with it paired with different equipment to see how it can sound.

i play 8 and 7 strings and detuned 6's ever since i picked up guitar, and the djent tone for us teenage metal heads in the early 90's late 1989 etc. was this 'djent' tone , in the stores trying to find amps to play it and produce it store owners and associates noticed the tone, they said it was kind of 'jenty' and we looked and said yeah that sounds like the word that it sounds like, i just wondered how they knew of this sound as we were always trying to capture it, they said it was "kind of - jenty" when you make the sound of the word 'j-e-n-t' sound it out. . .sjhjugh eeeehhhhh nnnnntttttttt' that is literally what the guitar tone sounds like shjjjjughhhh eeeeeehhhhhh nnnnnttttttt. it has the chug that is vowel like, and the eeeehhhhh that is vowel like and the hit and percussive and textured violin pick attack and bite at the end and there is clarity all between and palm mute and ringing singing tone so all bases covered it is the most dynamic flexible in use one all sound, just saying, that is why we tried so hard chasing it with everything literally made that we could try in a music store, hard to find if looking for an end product like this one, it is usually fabbed with things like dimebag put things on a randall to get it to do what he wanted. This is the best way. however i am suprised at how usable this pedal seems to me right now, so i am going to give it a try through a 2x12 and my solid state 15 watt head. thanks..

Thanks for sharing, tones have gone through such a long journey. Let us know how you go with pedal through your 2 x 12. That's what I use and I like the tone. I use it more for my drop c tuning compared to using my 7 string.

I'd be willing to bet that this pedal's circuit shares some components with the pre section of the (now discontinued) 5 watt Hotone Heart Attack micro amp head. I'd love to open one up to see if there are any internal trim pots.

I didn't realize the Hotone Heart Attack was discontinued... I'm glade I got one when I did then.
The Djent pedal is a pretty powerful little pedal, I've gotten some pretty rad sounds out of it using it under different circumstances. I'm not confident enough to open them up and know what I'm looking at...

I'd love to open one up to see if there are any internal trim pots. If you want something that absolutely djents in this price range, for about $10 to $15 dollars more you can get a Biyang Metal End, which completely smokes this pedal in tone and features. This one actually is pretty good for it's size and simplicity through.

I didn't know they discontinued the heart attack... I'm glade I got my hand on one...
I haven't tried the biyang metal end pedal before, I'll have to keep my eyes out for it.

Biyang Metal End does not smoke this pedal because it doesn't sound djent at all. The metal end is a metal zone type of pedal. a great pedal but it does not djent.

Great video. I bought this pedal because of your video. Thank you for the review.
My two cents, it isn't easy to dial the hotone djent and because of the low end boost and saber knob being small, I feel like the changes in presence are subtle.
You need high volume and a good speaker to really notice the subtle changes. the tone switch also has a subtleness to it. You can hear it in this video, when he changes the knobs but the changes are very subtle.
I think it needs an eQ boost for the high end in the end. layering the different selections would fill out the sound in production.

The Djent pedal has a lot of punch for such a small pedal.

For all around music, not just metal

That is a really good question! I think the Djent has more settings are variance to it compared to the whip... My first thoughts would be to go for the Djent pedal.

I haven't used it on bass yet. If I were to use it on bass I would have to roll back the gain a lot.
I use the dark glass pedal for my bass tone. :)

Its a pretty rad little distortion pedal. I like its shaping options it has. It's not quite as punchy or boosting to really push the djenty sound, as a saturated distortion... it's really rad.

It's nice to put them through the test to see how the handle different situations. :)
And it didn't go to bad. It has enough saturation, so you would just need to dial it in slightly differently and add some delay.
