Will be using this extension on a cross vault ceiling. By flattening the faces of my Sketchup model, I'll have templates for making the architectural model out of cardboard.
hey bro, how can I make tabs whe the object is unwrapped, I know an easy way that is by a plugging called flattery but cant downloud because i have sketchup pro and i think is not compatible, thats why i want to know about tabs with this extension you explained
Hi, I have been designing some papercraft projects in the uMake app (which can export in .stp, .iges, and .obj). Now I'm looking to turn them into .svg or .dxf files for my Silhouette papercutter. I'm thinking SketchUp plus this Unwrap and Flatten plugin is going to be a good program for me to use. I'm on a Mac. I just wanted to make sure: can I use this plugin with the free version of SketchUp? I'm just a hobbyist for now, not making money yet, so I need to stick with the free version for now.
You cannot use it on the free online version, which doesn't support third party extensions. However, you can use it in the Free 2017 Make version, which is available for download on the SketchUp website here - www.sketchup.com/download/all . As to exporting in the right format, I'm not really sure if you can do that in the Make version or not. Hope this helped!

its useful when you have to make kind of wrapping, like a sheet - canvas - fabric of a tent.
Thank you so much - was wondering there was no extensions menu created and couldn't find the function.
What tool did u use to bend the plane over??
Thank you so much.
The squared dome, where you add horizontal bars to the surface, looks like it shows back faces instead of front faces.
