@@barrymantelli8011 While your opinions are your own, why be so Control Orientated toward one's fellow Citizens? There are several States which have Open Carry. Constitutional Carry however is not Open Carry. The State of Florida went to Concealed Carry (Without a Permit) recently with out a "Permission Slip" from our Over Lords, and there is no over whelming rise in incidents of Human Violence. There is a Reality - and it is that an Armed Society is a Polite Society. In the 29 or so States where there is Constitutional Carry, then there is a science and a history and one which will be on going into the future. Even 35 years ago it was estimated that one in every eight women in Florida were carrying a pistol in their automobiles for self protection. If you actually think that Criminals care one bit about "Laws" then I have some Dry Swamp Land in the Everglades that I would like to sell you that is Python Free........

Michigan has had open carry for a long time and the constitution is what prohibits cops from questioning people that haven’t committed a crime. Criminals already walk around with guns and they won’t open carry, they don’t in Michigan, they like to tuck them. The only thing this will change is law abiding citizens will be able to protect themselves and each other when criminals do what they’ve been doing regardless of law. Gun laws do absolutely nothing to deter criminals from having them, the only people restricted by gun laws are law abiding citizens. The media and our representatives conveniently forget that criminals break laws, it’s what makes them criminals.

This is great news because law-abiding citizens will be doing exactly what they were allowed to do because of our constitution. @@oo7-ro6bu driving is not a right in and of itself, but neither is it something you can't do, and so its your right to do it the same way as anything is your right to do. A 10 year old can drive a car for the very first time, without a license, without supervision, drunk, high, and on a highway, and they are totally able to do so - they're just wholly liable if something happens unless what happened was gross negligence and/or intentional harm on the other party's part alone. The only way you wouldn't be able to drive is if like, you're driving onto someone's private property when they don't want you to
Also OP is wrong - a gun's primary purpose for self-defense is most certainly NOT to kill someone, but rather to ensure that they don't harm you.

Chief Holbrook and Leon Lotz both of you guys are out of your mind if you think law-abiding citizens need your permission to carry openly or concealed. The Constitution of the United States of America is our permit and didn't you hold your right hand up and swear to an oath to the Constitution of the United States of America.

These laws should also include a rider: “ any journalist stoking up public fears by alleging there will be an increase in gun violence because of open carry in SC, shall be forced to surrender their journalistic credentials and become a hair stylist or nail tech, at the one year anniversary of the passage of this law, when it is statistically demonstrated that they were wrong. This is in accordance to ensuring truth in journalism, for the next generation. Unfortunately, hair cuts or nails may suffer as a result of the career transitions that will undoubtedly take place next year.”

In Florida you can open carry when you go fishing.
In a tightly packed fishing pier, somebody asks an old man about his gun.
He pulls it out to show.
I was passing him, as this occured.
That was when he goes to put it back.
His hands were shaking so much, he could barely get it back in the holster, it seemed for sure, he was gonna shoot his foot off.
But open carry is definitely better than concealed.

Unlike the misleading title to this video or content focused on "open carry" the bill also covers concealed carry. Here is what the bill ACTUALLY says:
    1. **Constitutional Carry and Concealed Weapon Permits:**
    - The bill allows individuals to carry firearms without the need for a concealable weapons permit. It removes previous restrictions that required individuals to have a permit to carry concealed firearms, making it easier for law-abiding citizens to carry guns for self-defense.
    2. **Amendments to Gun-Free Zones:**
    - It revises the places and circumstances under which handguns and firearms can be carried. While it still respects federal laws and certain sensitive areas (like schools, government buildings, and places where alcohol is consumed), the bill modifies some of the existing restrictions.
    3. **Changes in Penalties:**
    - The bill introduces graduated penalties for violations related to the unlawful carrying of handguns, aiming to ensure that the consequences of such actions are more clearly defined and enforced.
    4. **Firearms in State Parks:**
    - The act allows individuals to possess or carry concealable weapons in state parks, broadening the areas where citizens can carry firearms.
    5. **Expungement and Legal Protections:**
    - It provides opportunities for the expungement of criminal records for certain unlawful possessions of firearms or weapons offenses, helping individuals to clear their records under specific conditions.
    6. **Training and Safety Encouragement:**
    - The State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is required to offer a concealed weapon permit training course, although carrying a weapon without a permit is allowed under this bill. This encourages gun owners to receive proper safety training voluntarily.
    7. **Age Requirement Adjustment:**
    - The bill states that individuals at least eighteen years old may obtain permits, lowering the age requirement from the previous law and allowing younger citizens to carry concealed weapons with a permit.
    8. **Firearm Transportation:**
    - It specifies that individuals are not prohibited from storing firearms anywhere in a vehicle, offering more flexibility in how guns can be transported.
In simple terms, this bill makes it easier for individuals in South Carolina to carry firearms for self-defense by removing the requirement for a concealed carry permit, adjusting the legal age for obtaining a permit, and modifying some restrictions on where firearms can be carried. It aims to preserve the Second Amendment rights of citizens while encouraging responsible gun ownership and safety training.
