Well it was perfectly legal to carry a long gun in public in South Carolina before this bill was even passed. Don't get all upset just because our great governor of South Carolina decided to sign the bill into law that anyone who is legally allowed to possess a firearm can carry a pistol openly without a permit. In Florida you can open carry when you go fishing. In a tightly packed fishing pier, somebody asks an old man about his gun. He pulls it out to show. I was passing him, as this occured. That was when he goes to put it back. His hands were shaking so much, he could barely get it back in the holster, it seemed for sure, he was gonna shoot his foot off. But open carry is definitely better than concealed.
