Might put the ground wire on a WOT switch... Or use a 1 psi boost switch to activate? I wouldn't want that solenoid pulsing constantly. Will wear it out fast. Also suggested max operating temps are like 122*f. So mounting it on a WG by the turbo isnt the best idea.
Sloppy Mechanics "Kids you listen to Ole Matt here, you keep buying shiny go-fast bits and you'll be passing by the poor house on the way to your home inside a VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER!"
I plumbed my wastegate like this and I couldn't build that much more boost than wastegate. I ended up just running the tube from intake>boost controller> dome and it works very well. I want to see you test it to see if it was just something weird going on with my setup. I was thinking the boost was equaling out when I did this like 6psi on bottom and 6 on top would cancel out?
thanks for the videos i would like to know how you overcome oil consumption with high mileage engine does honing the engine with stone solve the problem? can you add ac/heater to the Colorado how to make DIY anti lag how to put 4L80E with 5.3 as far as i know it has different connector
Does the boost controller connect to map for feedback? Maybe I missed this? I would have thought you would define boost level then let the processor calculate pulse width necessary therefore closing the feedback loop. Why pulse the solenoid when not necessary, since this could affect spool times. I look forward to seeing how this dynos.
Matt, just a quick idea.... instead of screwing the dash cover on and off, how about using some stick on velcro on the cover? You could also use another panel (no screw holes!!) at the same time (clean...) and have super fast and easy access instead of having to screw it on and off every time you need to get in there. Just a tought!! Liking everything you do!! Keep it up!!
Starion Slider LOL!! Thats for sure... but its a bonus! I mean, when its under the hood its a thing but when its in your face all the time...... or your better half's.
Also, really wanting to buy a SCSB and do a sloppy setup. Thoughts on towing with a turbo? I just worry about heat soak if i end up in boost constantly.
Hi, I'm attending school to become a mechanic. My passion is precisely that of tuning, but to get there you have to start from the basics, or not? How did you start to approach this work?
MasterDuo Don't know about you or anyone elses approaches, but I basically just started tinkering my own cars and bikes a bit over 10 years ago. Now I tig weld basically everything I want, basic machining skills using lathe and mill, built my jzx100 that I have been working on for 2 years now almost. Standalone ecu, did new wiring harness, built the motor etc. Now I'm at the point of self learning the tuning and have got a pretty ok working base map for idle and vacuum. Just need to finish some things still, and wait for the snow to melt here in Finland lol. Oh...and I'm just a electrician who hasn't done a single day of those works after finishing school back in 2007 lol. You do what you want and what is your passion. When doing something what you really love to do, you get good at it. I love welding and ecu tuning so these are my current goals in the future where I want to aim my career.
I prefer to run the grounds to the switches, run your hot to the controller then you don't have hot wires running all over the place jmo ..... everyone does things different though but imo less risk
@@SloppyMechanics hmm, my agp twin turbo instructions had me plumb a tee between the manifold and BOV and run it to the bottom of the WG I’ve removed it and now putting the electronic boost controller to the bottom of the WG
@@LuisHernandez-lm9is yes sorry the first time i read your comment, i got it wrong, im not sure what part you are talking about but i run an electronic boost controller vac line to the top, not sure what you saw
That light is so awesome! Definitely need to get one.
lmao the sidewinder mention inside the truck was great
Good stuff!!
Need that "wiring your car" video soon if possible please Matt. :)
Matt looks like he's getting ready for a bank heist and tapping into the security system
Awesome way to start the morning. Debating going with a sloppy setup on my project car.
Pull the trim around the ducting. Come on man. 👍 we know you don’t give a shit about that dash board. Your the Man. You’ve inspired me my friend. 🙏
Another clean wire install. What size vacuum hose would one need/want if they was running low?
Very informative video again. I love it.wake up and learn something from someone trying to help me out

lol at that Intro. I call that the Sloppy Stage 2 Taylor Ray intro
thanks for the videos

this video means so much to me
Nice work as always.Off topic but do you have both front narrow bands connected to one sensor?
Brpd Brpd yes he does
You are making this way too complicated Matt,
Just get an old school choke cable and hook it right onto the gate, fully manual FTW. 👍

I just need to move to PA so I can do turbo LS stuff with you guys. lol

Oh and check out the 3m dual lock for stuff like this. It's amazing
You're In the wrong neighborhood.
Please don't taint Matt's Chanel.
That's a high heat area right off the turbine housing that turbine gets glowing red are those heat-resistant solenoid
i doubt it will be an issue but lets find out together shall we
Sweet, half hour video to kill time before bed lol. Grave shift problems..
masimpson86 it's a struggle I know, no sleep Sundays make for a long 12hr shift Monday.

you should do a dyno test of a turbo blanket, before and after.
for additional hp? i doubt it will do anything at all
keeping the heat in the hot side improves thermal efficiency, ive seen it help.
Check out Engineering Explained, he recently did a test on turbo blankets!
That creative commons jam at the start of the vid was a real foot tapper

Which turbo was on the truck at this time?
That perriwinkle intake tube though...
thats what makes all the power
Sloppy Mechanics I knew it was some witchcraft!
Wont the heat from the gate transfer up into that MAC valve and kill the board?
doubtful but lets find out together!
we have done plenty of noids and sensors directly on waste gates like this without an issue
Good morning!
late to the part... where can i find these?
Isn’t your blow off valve suppose to be connected to that bottom port on the wastegate ?
no

Thanks guys, Matt have you ever played around with motec fuel injection
I’m sending you some 4.8 rods. I’m thinking you are going to need them soon.
yeah time to tread lightly on the ignition scale
Will be in the mail tomorrow. They are Gen 3. Only 7, as one has already been sacrificed to the gods of speed.
