That was a brilliant review. I have just driven the Mazda 6 Touring, Grand Touring and the Accord 1.5T in the past couple of days. Every bit of information you shared resonated strongly with my opinions as well. Mazda is just simply more luxurious and makes you feel very special on the driver's seat. That being said, the Accord coming from Honda is hugely surprising. Yes, the seats weren't as great and there's way more plastic in the Accord than in the Mazda. But you could trade that for the newer chassis and the responsive base engine. Again, great job with the review. Enjoyed every bit of it, especially part 2. I am considering the Accord Sport 1.5T and the Mazda 6 2.5T Grand Touring. Depends on which dealer offers me the best deal from here! Your comments on which is a better choice would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Adithya Vignesh J I am personally going for the Mazda6. Very close tie with Accord. The Accord beats 6 in infotainment and tech (way better) but I love the Mazda6s exterior and interior much more. Accord looks very... safe. Mazda6 handles better but just needs better tires. Mazda is notorious for having horrible stock tires. I have a friend who had to get new tires for his 3 at less than 20k miles. Good tires really help the car put the power down.
If you're comparing the 1.5T Honda to the 2.5T Mazda, I'd go for the Mazda for the extra power. If it's between that and the 2.0 Accord, that's a tough choice. I've always had good experiences with Honda products.
I personally don't really need the extra torque and hp of the 6 GT or the Accord 2.0T, but I also don't want an engine as sluggish-off-the-line as the 2.5 naturally aspirated in the Mazda 6 Touring trim. So for 25k, I feel like the Accord is better value. Also, the fact that Mazda 6 has had the chassis for almost six years now concerns me. I feel like it is possible that Mazda brings in a new 6 in say, two years from now. Wouldn't want my car to feel outdated that soon.
Mazda makes you feel special. I can't stand Toyota's and Honda's hideous over-design exterior wise and interior (Toyota's) included. Driving wise, the rear will gently step out in the Mazda to accommodate turn in performance. I just bought my Mazda unit this month. Very happy with the car.
Im driving the 2018 accord sport 1.5T. If you want a good and quite drive, i reconmend the Mazda 6. Honda interior is little noisy with the wind noise, rattle from the dashboard. Also many big gaps on the exterior.
As someone who is cross shopping the Mazda 6 and Accord, I can't stress how valuable this review was for my decision making process. Thanks for making such a thorough review
Mazda gets my win. It is the most elegant and premium looking of the 3. Best bang for your buck and the style will outlive both of the other two cars. When Mazda gets android auto and Apple carplay, they will be unstoppable.
This is one of the most phenomenal reviews I have ever witnessed. I am just now seeing the review but you ,represent the Dallas ,Texas enthusiast's, and consumers very well.
I have test driven the three cars in the same trim as this test and I agree with the review. The Mazda6 is the prettiest inside and out. The Camry is the smoothest and the least exciting. The Accord is the most impressive in the drive and tech. I am still deciding between the 6 and the Accord but I am leaning the Honda way.
That was my experience 15 years ago. Loved the Mazda 6. Great gearbox and looks, overall great. The Camry was solid, but just not for me, not exciting either. The Accord 6 speed manual though was way more refined and responsive and felt more luxurious. I really wanted to love the Mazda. Kinda feel the same now, but I haven't driven the newer ones. Also Honda got a bump for holding resale value better, but I'm still driving it.
@Austen Hernandez except that Honda is having the oil dilution problems in their engines. Plus you know at 100k miles you will have to replace those turbos and it's going to be expensive. I like the looks but Camry and Mazda way better in reliability
Austen Hernandez, I know someone who got a new 2018 Accord with the 2.0T engine and 10-speed tranny. It was in the shop for 2 weeks as Honda had to overhaul engine as one day it just shut down and wouldn’t start....owner regretting buying the Accord. Talk about Honda’s reliability....I think that was in the past but not anymore and Mazda has made ground on reliability ranked next to Toyota and Lexus...
BRUH! I bought the 2018 Accord 2.0T Touring, and was thinking of returning it for the Camry XSE V6 or the Mazda6 Signature- SOLELY because of it's looks, and all the criticism of how ugly it is compared to the other two (criticism online, people in person think its beautiful). A lot of it was getting to my head, but after a couple weeks of driving it.. it became more and more apparent that this was the best choice. Your review put the nail in the coffin. The POV comparison of the three, the side by side 0 to 60s, you can't get any better than this. You are the man for this review! No one else did this on youtube.
The accord has grown on me ever since it has been released. I still think it looks too gigantic, it's not a midsize, closer to a fullsize car, but it's not a bad looking car when you get used to it. The interior is lacking though, it's just too simple, even compared to the Camry. The 6's interior is the best in that class, no questions about that.
Swa Sho I soooooo agree with your point. You’d think there would be several comparisons of these three cars on RUclips. But, no. Forrest’s is the one and only one I found.
Give me that accord if you don't want it. Basically the driver who doesn't know about its car was the worst one. Who cares about what others think, just be on yourself or you'll lose to them.
Great review bro.. my wife and I test drove the Honda Accord Touring 2.0T and we both loved it.. when you put it in sport mode.. omg.. you will really enjoy the drive and the interior I must say is really classy and nice. We will definitely go for the Touring 2.0 since we've always had CVT's..Again, thanks for the great review bro
I bought a ‘20 Accord Touring 2.0T a year ago and could not be happier with it! Such an amazing car! I love almost everything about it. Even now after a full year of ownership, I still look forward to driving it every single day.
Picked up a 1.5 EXL Accord 2018 a month ago. I have averaged 37 mpg on two long trips and am loving the car. The 2.0 is awesome, I am sure, but unneeded as the standard 1.5 is more than powerful enough for regular driving.
I'm not sure what Honda did, but the 1.5t is a gem of a motor. The 2.0t is better, no doubt, but the 1.5t is no slouch; the base engine does not punish you.
No it's not. You need to do research. Zeroto60times dot com 2017 Mazda 3 w/ 2.5 NA 0-60: 7.1 - 7.3 seconds 2017 Civic w/ 1.5Lt 0-60: 6.9 seconds 2016 Mazda 6 w/ 2.5 NA 0-60: 7.5 seconds (virtually same engine in 2018 model) 2018 Honda Accord w/ 1.5t 0-60: 7.3 seconds You're probably the 4th or 5th person to call me out on this, and you are now the 4th or 5th person I get to say this to: DON'T LOOK AT HORSEPOWER NUMBERS!!! Honda's turbo engines have a lot of torque down low, which allows them to pull hard from a stop.
Internet make it seems you need 500hp to pass a semi. Anything with 180hp 180 torque is plenty fast. Especially first and second gear which amplifies torque by 3x
Man your reviews, are by far the better ones, very descriptive, clear to understand, and the POV angle is awesome. Great job, I hope your channel grows.
Honda. The only criticism is looks from biased mazda/toyota fans and that is purely subjective. In my opinion Honda Accord is gorgeous and I love the New design.
i've been waiting for someone to do this review with these three.. i had a feeling the Camry wouldn't win because i cross shopped it with the Accord. The Accord is miles better than the Camry in my opinion, but i was curious about the new Mazda.. They're all great looking cars, they all have things i could nit pick, but i bought the Accord 2.0t sport couple weeks ago without driving the Mazda. I'm super happy with it, and i get so many compliments on it daily, i have no buyers remorse. They're one of those cars you have to see in person to appreciate. Great review as always Forrest!!
I very much appreciate the quality of what you've done and the effort that went into it. Kudos. I especially appreciate your attention to driving dynamics. But a question: You focused almost exclusively on the issue of getting the power down. If you pretend the Mazda was the Accord's equal in that regard, how would you compare the two on other aspects of handling? Whatever comes to mind will be great. If you draw a blank, help yourself to any of these... Which one of the Honda/Mazda would you rather be in: * On chewed-up city streets when you're in a hurry? * In a decreasing radius turn that you accidentally entered too fast? * Going over railroad tracks lickety-split? * On patched-up or grooved major highways that have too much traffic on them? * On perfect winding 2-lane blacktop on a perfect day with nobody else in sight? Thanks a bunch (regardless of whether you respond).
Thank you, Forrest! You were the 1st to really get some seeable information out on the Mazda 6. Also, putting the 3 head to head is awesome as I’m a weeks away from making a decision and seriously this review helps a TON!
I just got the Mazda 6 last Sunday - and I am so happy I got it! It's 2018 and since the '19 just came out - it was $5k discount so it was a good deal. So far I've loving the car! The interior is so clean and simple and the body is elegant.
I put my money where my mouth is and got me a Mazda 6 GT, it's such a beautiful car inside and out (got a bunch of compliments on it's looks 😁) plus I have people looking the car over from time to time while in traffic. The car drives fantastic, it has a great sound system, it's built in Japan and it makes me feel special when I drive it. I LOVE! my car.
Mazda 6 with turbo is enough for me, the interior is amazingly beautiful to touch and it looks better outside plus very quiet, that's only my own opinion but i agree that you cannot go wrong with the three they're both very good..
Great review!! I just got my wife a 2018 Honda sport 2.0 t , I’m super impressed with that vehicle took it on a 1500 Mile road trip this weekend and had a blast driving it
The most honest and the best review, I've ever had. Love the way of your judging of the car, your angle of thinking. I too think Honda is the best out of three. Overall, all three are the best in the market. Thumbs up for this video and you have a new subscriber.
Best review of a comparison of 3 top models at once! I've been searching for exactly this! Accord vs Mazda for me but I'm sold on the Mazda. Gonna get it next weekend hopefully!!❤️
Bought the Mazda 6 2.5T and couldn't be happier. I've never liked the Camry or Accord and I've rented both of them multiple times. If you know how to drive there is no wheel spin, you can't slam the pedal down and expect wheels not to spin. That is not practical at all. The accord is so cheap inside its not even funny and they're infotainment system is terrible. As for the transmission I would much rather have a tried and tested 6 speed than a 10 speed which will be in the shop in 120,000km guaranteed. 10 gears is way too much shifting for me, they are constantly shifting and its an awful feeling. The 6 speed doesn't even need to downshift in most gears to give passing power. Mazda is worlds ahead of toyota and honda with this sedan.
I own a 2016 Mazda GT, which was the highest trim in 2016 & 2017, and it still turns heads with it's beauty! It's aging fantastically and still so much fun to drive- even without being turbo charged. Driving mostly in city traffic in Chicago, it has more than enough power for me. Although I'll always love Mazda's exterior styling, I much prefer my 2016 exterior to the 2018 and above exteriors. Not a fan of the meshed grill- got to be a bear to keep clean. I like the fog likes separate and not integrated in the front lights. And why they did away with the light that runs along the grill, is puzzling. At night, that light is so frickin awesome and makes the car stand out in yet another, visually satisfying way! Well done review! I could guess the order from the excitement level you had describing each car lol. Just so happy that Mazda is getting the love and recognition the car deserves. So in LOVE with my "ZZ!!"
I honestly do not comment on videos because it feels like a waste of breath....but i have to say - I am in the market for a mid/large sized sedan & I had been looking at all 3 at one point - and thanks to you, I have been able to lock a decision in!! Once i got looking and researching, the Camry was an easy decision to get rid of based on the features it lacks. For the past few months I have been torn between the Mazda & Honda. Seeing Part 1 come up the other day and i was like Omg. Perfect. Just what I need because there arent any videos out there that COMPARE the two. Both have its advantages over the other and being such a Mazda lover, I think thats why it was hard to decide which car. I like the Honda (however wasnt totally sold), mostly because I know so much more about the Mazda. That is because up until 2 weeks ago, I wasnt sure we (Australia) were going to get the Accord. But thanks to your video, i found out valuable information and was glad that Honda came out on top - now im so much more confident in my decision.
Charlie Chirapuntu see thats what i thought. Based on our current 6, yes its an extra 10k, but that 6 (in the video) has alot more compared to what we have now. So when the new 6 comes out in Aus, the price will jump - just no word on how much yet which is ridiculous because it releases within the next 3 months! Plus the Accord is probably gonna end up being in the same ballpark to remain competitive. Honda Australia havent finalised what our version will be like (regarding features, engine type etc..) so that can also alter the price. I just hope its as similar as the US model as it can be lol
Great reviews. In depth plenty of detail and gave a great view of what each car is really like. I would buy the Mazda6 in a heartbeat and I do agree with your criticisms - the screen and lack of AWD add these and the Mazda6 would be an unbeatable car 🚗
As much as people have been hating on Accord styling...everything else about it is really impressive. I haven’t been in the Mazda6 but I’d have to agree with you Forrest. Can’t go wrong with any of them!
Legion Z I’m with you! Love the idea of the V6 and 10 speed...I was bummed to hear about the new turbos but I drove the Accord and it truly surprised me
Excellent reviews Forrest! You've made me reconsider how I've thought about all three cars. It's also great to have someone here in dfw giving us quality reviews. 👍
Mazda wins in overall ratings. So the Honda is a half a second faster. You won't be thinking that a couple of weeks after you purchase. What you will notice every day is the cabin that your sitting in traffic for hours. And Mazda takes on so many different levels. Not just comfort level and sophistication, but how it's so obsessively ergonomically designed, pulls away into premium surpassing Audi and Lexus. Keep up.
I have a 2014 Accord touring and it looks brand new and is gorgeous still. My first car was a 2004 Mazda 6 and I loved it so much. It handled amazingly well, but when I went to test drive the newer model around 2011, it was horrible. I’m glad to see that they are getting back to the level they were, but until I got my Accord I never knew I could love a car more. Even my 6 ft 3 hubby who was a “never car” person makes every excuse to drive my car. The gas mileage is also amazing. On long trips I can get anywhere from 40-50 mpg. Much better than our gas guzzling, kid toting SUV. Plus, it fits us and our three kids comfortably! When you said the Camry was a family car I laughed. Because I test drove a brand new one and chose to purchase the older Accord because there was no comparison. Great review!
Buy the Camry if reliability is your #1 priority. The 3.5 v6 is a tried veteran, it uses both direct & port injection which eliminates some of the issues associated with DI, anddddd most importantly NO TURBO! I've been around turbos for 20 years; as they age you run into issues with boost leaks, vacuum leaks, oil & coolant leaks, they tend to sheer engine oil, etc etc! Having said all of that... I'd buy either the 6 or the Accord... whichever dealers gives me the most incentives $$$$$.
rockn roll The turbo shares oil with the engine; it is fed oil either via the filter housing or via the head and it drains back into the oil pan. The turbocharger is also fed engine coolant btw. You're likely thinking of a supercharger like a Rotrex for example, this type does not share lubrication with the engine.
I agree. I'll stick to my naturally aspirated engines. The Mazda 6 also comes with a 2.5L i4, the Camry a 2.5L i4 and 3.5 V6 but the accord is all turbos. If I were to get an accord I'd probably trade it in at around 100k. From what I know the only reason for these turbocharged engines is to meet the EPA's emission and mpg standards.
Direct injection is the worst. These engines suffer from internal carbon build up and when they get older that causes extremely expensive problems. Their injectors are fragile and expensive too. Plus their emissions are different and extremely harmful to humans, enter directly into blood, brain and organs. No matter how nice a car seems a direct injetion engine ruins it. But no car channel talks about this because the reviewers only talk about what they see and feel but know nothing.
That's why between these 3 cars. Id buy....... None of them. I'd get a certified 2017 accord v6 touring. That engine is a gem, and ifs the best looking
I've owned a Mazda 6 from 2014 and loved the car. I test drove the new Turbo Mazda 6. I bought a Honda 2.0 Turbo with the 10 speed over the new Mazda Turbo due to the on the road price I got on the Honda and am getting 35+ mpg in the Econ mode. I am impressed with the power and the economy of the new 2.0 Honda so far. Thanks for a great detailed review.
I knew u were going 2 choose the Honda accord..This was a tough 1- 4 me..I heard sometime ago a man n Maine owned 1 & got 1,000,000 ml.out of this car..Hwy.ml.& Honda give him a brand new 1..I wld.have chose it 4 that reason..Toyota..Made n Japan r fantastic also..Mazda is just gorgeous..All wonderful cars..Luved this review..TU 4 sharing..Enjoyed..U did a wonderful job also..TU..
I own a fully loaded 2021 kia k5 gt-line and the 2021 honda accord 2.0t 10speed sport. The accord has great performance, infotainment system supporting wireless apple car play and android auto, best steering feedback of any car I've driven. . Fastest car of the three reviewed. Honda checks all of the boxes for me. Btw in 2021, honda accord is rated no. 1 among mid-sized cars by top car magazines and auto reviewers.
Thank you for such a good review. I tested both the Mazda 6, Accord Sport 2.0T, and Buick Regal Sportback. At 6'2 my right leg/knee was jammed into the console/dash of the Accord with the seat all the way back. Since you are 6'0, it still looked as if you had more room in the Camry and Mazda 6. The Accord Sport 2.0T ride was simply rough without handling particularly well. The Touring may be a touch softer. Again, thanks for the review.
When I was looking for a new 2018 car, I narrowed my choices down to the Honda Accord, the Toyota Camry, and the Mazda 6. At first I was leaning towards the Honda Accord because the Mazda 6 and Camry did not have Android Auto. But, after driving the Honda Accord, I discovered that the sound system was abysmal. Not long after that test drive, Mazda announced they were adding Android Auto to the Mazda 6. Suddenly Mazda 6 jumped to the top of the list, because it had great styling and the sound system was better than the Honda. I went ahead an purchased the 2018 Mazda 6 and I am very happy with it. There are some things that I would like to see improved, but overall I think the car is fantastic and it has a very sleek look both inside and out.
varnk, you went with a very good choice! You can’t go wrong with any of the three compared here...all really good vehicles just comes down to personal preference! Same here looked at all 3 and all good reliable mid size cars. Went with a 6 due to the better ext and int design and mat’ls and got a really good deal on it which sealed it for me. Yes other 2 had higher resale value but I don’t buy cars due to resale value...I buy cars that I like to drive and value to me is the perceived value when you drive the vehicle (feeling of getting more car for the money and what you paid for)!
Great follow up! Love that Mazda 6 ... FYI Mazda Sky Activ Transmission is not really a conventional automatic. There's definitely some special things going on with it. Look at videos where the engineers talk about it... I came across a lot of that when I was doing research on my Mazda 3
Great point Genius. It has a lock-up clutch that is engaged for around 90%, which far more than the average transmission. It would want to be good. They spent a LOT of R&D on that transmission just as they did the crazy engines. R&D is where it's at for Mazda. Toyota and Honda spend more on advertising than R&D while Mazda puts almost all their profit back into R&D. But they have to.... they're only 10% the size of the other two giants.
Glenn Stewart yeah I think that’s a good benefit of not being to big ... it seems like some of these companies lose their way when there are too many people making decisions. I have a Mazda 3 GT and I absolutely love the power train in that car! I can’t wait to see what sky activ X brings
Glenn Stewart Which makes it that much more remarkable they are able to engineer the kind of competitive cars they are able to as small as they are in comparison. I just wish that that their efforts were recognized in $$. Mazda is killing it, about time the general public realizes it.
Honda won it for me. That 2.0T Sport in the blue. Don't forget Honda is more customizable with aftermarket parts and the Hondata Tunes👌. Look at the Honda RUclipsr's builds.
Great review. I bought the Accord 2.0 touring, added Manicci car mats and love the car. Thanks to reviews like yours, I didn't have to waste my time test driving those other cars and feeling guilty walking away from a disappointed sales person. Up voted.
Give me the toyota reliability, smooth ride, mazda attention to detail and looks inside and out, and accords fun and newer well done tech. They are all winners, there are no losers in this group. Except manuals.
Thorough review. I did my homework and researched several cars earlier this year. The Accord Touring 2t was hands down the best vehicle of all cars driven. The Euro cars have nothing to compete with the new Accord for the money. I bought mine in February 2018. It is the finest and smartest car I have ever owned. My advice is to buy the Accord and keep $30,000 in the bank for a rainy day.
First time viewer and I have to say the effort you put into this review is astounding. I was waiting for an in depth review of the newly released Mazda 6 Signature and you did a great job. I've now subscribed to your channel and more people should, I highly recommend this review for people shopping for this type of family sedan.
Great review..Hava a ex Honda 2018..Bought a 2015 ex in 2015.thought the car good but was disappointed in the ride..felt every bump.. Went to Honda to check out the 2018..Thje car drove so smoothy that I immediately put my order in..love the roadability..stearing and ride in this car..this is my 4th Accord and the best
I’ve had accords since my ‘91. Have a 2012 now that’s been bullet proof. But they Toyota is the way to go if you want to put hundreds of thousand of miles on a car. Love Mazda and their design. But accord is still the best overall. Don’t like the direct injection and turbo for long term reliability though.
This was phenomenal I really enjoyed the entire review, everything was in great detail it really helped with my decision. Honestly I think ill go with the Mazda because of the interior and because I hear the cooled seats are better. And here in texas that summer sun aint no joke. But I can definitely tell a lot of time and effort was put into this video, thanks Forrest to you and your people 👍 😀 awesome job man!
With the way CVT is continuously show issues, I think Mazda is the way to go. I love how they have completely revamped their design and manufacturing. Good job reviewing the three cars. Unbiased and thorough. I love how you said hard earned money needs to be spent on cars that are manufactured by those who understand us.
Awesome body of work reviewing these vehicles. Surprisingly my car search lead me to these three cars and your review was right on time for me. Very comprehensive for real world use. Thank you. I have now subscribed to your channel.👍
Appreciate your efforts with this 3 way comparison. Feedback/insights came across as objective. I definitely concur with the ranking results and justification. One thing that should have been mentioned is Mazda still made in JAPAN unlike others. Earned a sub! Keep up the great work!
Thank you for your detailed comparisons. We have looked at both the Camry and Mazda so your review was very helpful. We liked the Camry at first but then started looking at the Mazda. I decided that I didn't care much for the Camry's chisled exterior design but liked the more timeless and understated look and feel of the Mazda, as well as it'[s quiet interior. After owning and loving a 2003 V6 Accord and a 2007 Odyssey (still have it), I have been really disappointed in the newer Honda products. They seemed cheaper and plastickey. But after your review, I will definitely have a look. Still probably will go with the Mazda. As for your question below, I do not like Tesla. I don't want any car to do any of my driving or decision making for me. I like your reviews, thanks again.
jmasoncar s I wonder how much longer it will be until Toyota4Life chimes in and accuses Forrest of how wrong he is and being an incredibly biased fanboy. And also PLATINUM chiming in trying to say how Honda paid him off to make the Accord the winner (which in itself is such a ridiculous accusation in itself). 😂😂😂
Great job Forrest. Thank you for your detail. I wish though that at least on of these reviews would look at the base models. Much of the review time is spent on high end options that only a small percentage of buyers and your viewers will ever get.
Great review!! I agree 100% with your assessment. I have driven the Camry and the Accord, but not the Mazda. I fell in love with the Accord. The Camry was a very nice car to drive. The Accord was actually FUN to drive. Good job.
And even then you have to look at how far Mazda has come! It offers a nice luxary style car for almost 10k cheaper than the accord. And previous customers complained about the humble 150hp motor so they offered the 250hp engine with 300lbs of torque. I've been looking into a new car for a while and I think I'm personally sold on the mazda.
Seriously, all this hype for the Mazda and it can't even break six figure sales. I thought people were talking about the return of the RX-7 or something.
Exactly. They look great but people avoid them. Dont see that changing any time soon. Maybe if the cars stayed away from service would be a good step. Put 20 years of proven reliability behind them and it would be a different story
I currently own both the Toyota Camry and the Honda Accord. The Honda handles best, feels more planted, and has the best (more usable for me) gadgets. Toyota has a better, more comfortable seating position and less road noise. Both vehicles are historically more reliable and hold their value better than the Mazda.
Another point to add since the Mazda6 was tested with 93 octane fuel. Hondata (a tuner shop) dino-ed a stock Accord 2.0T and found that Accord produced about +9 hp and +10 lb/ft torque when 91 octane fuel was used versus 87.
In my decently long battling between the Accord and the Mazda 6, you've helped me finally come to a firm decision on the Accord. Thank you. Fantastic two-part review that answered anything I may not have already known. The Mazda 6 Signature seems like an amazing interior to be inside of, but the Accord just has those extra benefits that seal the deal. And going with the Sport 2.0T over the Touring 2.0T adds the cost benefit as well.
Thank you for your two very thoughtful, thorough reviews of these three cars. You confirmed what I already THOUGHT was the case; the Honda is, ultimately, a better all-around vehicle of the three. I’m subscribing!
It would be great if you could do the same comparison with the base engines and less equipment since that is what most people actually buy. $ 25.000 comparison.
Excellent review. I have an older V6 Camry that has been very reliable and I am now looking to get something a little more sporty. The Honda 2.0T looks good and this video review, along with other reviews, suggests that this would be the pleasing car for me. The sticking points for me though are the potential problems with carbon build up from the GDI and the turbo enhanced engine in the Honda. Your video however shows that the Honda would bring a little more excitement and enjoyment, especially with the manual, which is what I am looking for. I guess a test drive is in order to aid in making a final decision.
Great review on three great cars. After extensive research between all competitive sedans I bought a 2018 Accord Hybrid Touring (in Modern Steel), and LOVE it. The engine is smooth, it is plenty powerful when needed (I unintentionally spun the tires pulling out into traffic), the eCVT is smooth and always ready, and this car is quiet. However, I will say that the 47/47/47 mpg rating is not accurate. I got 55.7 mpg city mpg today and average in the HIGH 40s and low 50s when combined. It has so much technology. Everyday I'm learning new things it can do. This is a FANTASTIC car. Great looks (MANY compliments on the color and the car's looks from friends and strangers), superb quality and a quiet and luxurious ride. And it's a FUN car to drive. I may have to add stabilizer to the gas tank since I go so long before filling up.
In mid July I bought a 2019 Insight Touring Hybrid and it's absolutely incredible. It drives super smooth in the city as well as the highway. We have rough roads up here and I barely feel them. I also get incredible mileage especially in the city and my tankful of gas seems to last forever even with the small gas tank of 40 liters (10 US gal). I probably would have purchased the Accord Hybrid if my dealer would have had one, the Honda dealers here in Northern Ontario have a very hard time getting a hold of hybrids (I still have the only Insight in Northern Ontario). Enjoy your new hybrid as I sure love mine.
Thanks for awesome review, your comparison helped me locking my decision on Honda Civic! accord and civic has so much in common, at least for a commuter..
I am very impressed with the way you analyzed the placing of the 3 cars. I only came across this comparison now, but I think the Mazda 6 has been updated since that time. I'm leaning toward a Mazda (although I love Honda) but will replace the tires with stickier summer tires.
I'd be interested which one you end up choosing.
me too
hope you got the honda :-)
The honda is really nice
I bought Mazda6 ..it’s the best in design and drives smooth nd i am getting compliments everyday..People ask me about the car and say it’s beautiful
What color did you get? I want a pearl white or silver.
Bro planning to buy 1.. just curious if had any major or minor issues with it till now?
Arshkamal Singh bro no issue , it's a madza , they up there in reliability
@@mikexcanxjerk thats a joke
@@Mrtellitlikeitis your opinion good day. Before maybe as not much , definitely now yes
Mazda gets my win. It is the most elegant and premium looking of the 3. Best bang for your buck and the style will outlive both of the other two cars.
When Mazda gets android auto and Apple carplay, they will be unstoppable.
Pfffffft never
@@EmperorVrax Had it since 2018.
@Abubakar Abdullahi tell that to their World Car Design of the year Award.
Charlie Chirapuntu what did you end up buying, if you did?
He didn't get anything
I have a 2018 mazda 6. So happy with it and it’s a beautiful car. Drives smooth, has lots of torque, premium leather quality and mechanic.
Im a honda guy. But im very impressed with Mazdas interior quality.
Exactly !!!
Go camry👍
Nobody does the review for these three cars as detailed as you did, with heart!!!
Mad Pistol naturally aspirated Mazda 6 4 cylinder is quicker and quieter than the 1.5t. Do some research
No it's not. You need to do research.

You're probably the 4th or 5th person to call me out on this, and you are now the 4th or 5th person I get to say this to: DON'T LOOK AT HORSEPOWER NUMBERS!!! Honda's turbo engines have a lot of torque down low, which allows them to pull hard from a stop.
Internet make it seems you need 500hp to pass a semi. Anything with 180hp 180 torque is plenty fast. Especially first and second gear which amplifies torque by 3x
Mad Pistol Car & Driver got a flat 7.0 second twice for the 14 and 16 Mazda6 (2.5 auto). Numbers vary with the source.
Ended up buying Mazda6 signature and it’s everything I can ask for, from comfort to luxury. Also, it’s doing perfect in Toronto weather.
Man your reviews, are by far the better ones, very descriptive, clear to understand, and the POV angle is awesome. Great job, I hope your channel grows.
Honda. The only criticism is looks from biased mazda/toyota fans and that is purely subjective. In my opinion Honda Accord is gorgeous and I love the New design.
codykh imo. Accord is the best looking by a mile
i've been waiting for someone to do this review with these three.. i had a feeling the Camry wouldn't win because i cross shopped it with the Accord.
Which one of the Honda/Mazda would you rather be in:
* On chewed-up city streets when you're in a hurry?
* In a decreasing radius turn that you accidentally entered too fast?
* Going over railroad tracks lickety-split?
* On patched-up or grooved major highways that have too much traffic on them?
* On perfect winding 2-lane blacktop on a perfect day with nobody else in sight?
Thanks a bunch (regardless of whether you respond).
Thank you, Forrest! You were the 1st to really get some seeable information out on the Mazda 6. Also, putting the 3 head to head is awesome as I’m a weeks away from making a decision and seriously this review helps a TON!
Good job on the review. I am in the Mazda camp but Accord has a pretty decent offering this time around. I really wish it looked better though.
I just got the Mazda 6 last Sunday - and I am so happy I got it! It's 2018 and since the '19 just came out - it was $5k discount so it was a good deal. So far I've loving the car! The interior is so clean and simple and the body is elegant.
This is gonna sound so random but can you add some ads? I don't feel right getting such quality content for nothing.

Lmao, I couldn't agree more. Oustanding quality review.
I LOVE! my car.
Aww
real comment.. the actual sound difference between the mazda and the toyota is really noticeable.
Mazda 6 with turbo is enough for me, the interior is amazingly beautiful to touch and it looks better outside plus very quiet, that's only my own opinion but i agree that you cannot go wrong with the three they're both very good..
I bought a 2018 Mazda 6 Touring & I absolutely love everything about it. So classy & elegant. It's a head turner for sure.

Thats the big question. Mazdas years of making junk service call cars
Great review!! I just got my wife a 2018 Honda sport 2.0 t , I’m super impressed with that vehicle took it on a 1500 Mile road trip this weekend and had a blast driving it
I dont care what Honda haters say the accord is sexy
Forrest.. you're gonna be a RUclips star. Calling it now.
That was an amazing review, part 1 and 2 is just so knowledgeable . Love how you just drove all the 3 cars and explained everything. Well done
For the frequent +12-hr road trips I take between Nevada and Arizona (very hot summers), the V6 Camry is just right.
Love the Honda Accord 😍
Isn't the Accord absurdly more expensive in Australia when compared to other comparable mid-size cars?
The 2.0T sport is the best looking Accord trim. The dark blue is sooo sexy.
I'd prefer the Accord with a chain driven V6 10 Speed but now they are all turbo 4 cylinders. lol
Legion Z I’m with you! Love the idea of the V6 and 10 speed...I was bummed to hear about the new turbos but I drove the Accord and it truly surprised me
Prime Autotainment it's ugly... what are you talking about
maurice benton didn’t say it was good looking, just that the car overall is really impressive
Excellent reviews Forrest! You've made me reconsider how I've thought about all three cars. It's also great to have someone here in dfw giving us quality reviews. 👍
I like mazda 6 more. Interior/exterior is better then the other once(in my opinion:), drives very good.
Thank you! Finally Ifound the next car to buy with YOUR review ✌
just brilliant review! I can feel the effort you put into these videos, good job man!!
I love my Accord 2.0 touring. So much fun to drive!
How’s your gas economy been? Is it a good daily driver with the 2.0 engine?
Most reviewers don't have a car long enough to encounter any of these problems.
Forrest, thank you for an excellent auto review. You are one of the best.

Bought a mazda 6. Very happy with my purchase.. was a bit nervous with a 4 cylinder. But it did surprise me.
How's it holding up?
@@uploadtime1780 great! Still very pleased!

Great follow up! Love that Mazda 6 ... FYI Mazda Sky Activ Transmission is not really a conventional automatic. There's definitely some special things going on with it. Look at videos where the engineers talk about it... I came across a lot of that when I was doing research on my Mazda 3
GENIUS
Best of both worlds. Added elements of a dual clutch with the smoothness of a torque converter.
Exactly! It could not be that awesome and be "conventional" Genius sounds more like it ;)
Great point Genius.
Glenn Stewart
Which makes it that much more remarkable they are able to engineer the kind of competitive cars they are able to as small as they are in comparison. I just wish that that their efforts were recognized in $$. Mazda is killing it, about time the general public realizes it.
I agree with you on all aspects!! Test drove a Camry and Accord today. The accord did it for me. The 2.0T is a gem of an engine.
Honda won it for me. That 2.0T Sport in the blue. Don't forget Honda is more customizable with aftermarket parts and the Hondata Tunes👌. Look at the Honda RUclipsr's builds.
Yessir!!!!!
Great review. I bought the Accord 2.0 touring, added Manicci car mats and love the car. Thanks to reviews like yours, I didn't have to waste my time test driving those other cars and feeling guilty walking away from a disappointed sales person. Up voted.
I just got a 2018 accord touring but the 1.5 engine due to the better gas mileage! I love it. Really glad I got it over the Toyota.
The mazda is killing it. That interior..... And that exterior 'still' looks better than the accord or camry.
Give me the toyota reliability, smooth ride, mazda attention to detail and looks inside and out, and accords fun and newer well done tech.
They are all winners, there are no losers in this group.
Except manuals.
Mazda so impressive on a old design 6 speed transmission. Wondering what it can do marrying Mazda 6 with Honda’s 10 speed transmission!
So happy I found your review!!! Trying to decide on the exact 3 and this brought it into focus. Thanks so much!!!
Hey Forest, you’ve got a future in this. Your reviews were super informative. You gave me all the information I wanted. Great job!

For the Life of Me ...I cannot understand why Mazda does not sell more of these 6 Sedans...Just a Great Car !!
You do some of the best auto reviews I have ever seen. Keep it up!
I want to be known as the guy that says “I want MAZDA and HONDA to have a BABY!!” Lol it’ll have great looks, best handling and a badass engine!!!
1st. HONDA. 2ND. MAZDA. 3RD TOYOTA. Accord looks beautiful inside out AND Sound great! 10 speed RType TURBO . Honda even offers Stick !
Forrest, Great review! Your reviews are amongst the best I have ever seen. Kudos to you for a great job!
I feel so bad for you man, another channel just did a race on these cars and its blowing up. Meanwhile, you did it 2 years earlier and no respect.
Damn... Another win for the Accord. Now if they can just do something with that rear end. I appreciate the hard work put into these videos. 👍
jmasoncar s ...and front end
jmasoncar s I wonder how much longer it will be until Toyota4Life chimes in and accuses Forrest of how wrong he is and being an incredibly biased fanboy. And also PLATINUM chiming in trying to say how Honda paid him off to make the Accord the winner (which in itself is such a ridiculous accusation in itself). 😂😂😂
Toyota4Life and PLATINUM are the biggest fanboys on RUclips
I'm sure they're in part 1 of this review before the *L* came
jmasoncar s What's the "L" mean?
Great job Forrest. Thank you for your detail. I wish though that at least on of these reviews would look at the base models. Much of the review time is spent on high end options that only a small percentage of buyers and your viewers will ever get.
Way to go Accord! I have the 2.0T Touring, and really enjoy driving it. All three are good well rounded cars. Thanks for the in depth review. 👍
Great review!! I agree 100% with your assessment. I have driven the Camry and the Accord, but not the Mazda. I fell in love with the Accord. The Camry was a very nice car to drive. The Accord was actually FUN to drive. Good job.
I tested the 3 of them. Honda just won me over. The Accord is on a different level. Amazing. it puts luxury cars to shame.
Great job on the reviews. This helps my buying decision.
At the end of the day, the camry is still number one, mazda this mazda that but you hardly see any out on the road
THANKS FOR THE PART TWO BRO.
Robbie Hernandez it’s still an ugly car!
That's your irrelevant opinion.
Another point to add since the Mazda6 was tested with 93 octane fuel. Hondata (a tuner shop) dino-ed a stock Accord 2.0T and found that Accord produced about +9 hp and +10 lb/ft torque when 91 octane fuel was used versus 87.
Honda always underrate their engines. lol
Exactly. But no one listens
Great Review! Extensive and thoughtful detailed comparisons.. Very interesting and challenging car reviews. Thank you !
Mazda 6
As Usual the Honda Accord "Destroys" the Camry !!!!
Great review, bro. I knew I made a good pick with my New Accord.
I am very impressed with the way you analyzed the placing of the 3 cars. I only came across this comparison now, but I think the Mazda 6 has been updated since that time. I'm leaning toward a Mazda (although I love Honda) but will replace the tires with stickier summer tires.
