When Page faced Michael Lee in the beginning of the song it was Jimmy saying you are a Rock n Roll Drummer.....never saw him do that except with Bonham.....Page and Plant knew that Michael Lee on drums brought Zepp back from the dead after Bonzo's passing.....
Walter… interesting observation! I saw Michael twice, once with Plant Page and as Thin Lizzy’s drummer. Both times demonstrating he is of the top guys around at a young age. Taken from us far too early on his 30’s…. At home alone on a Saturday he experienced an epileptic fit and lost his life. RIP Michael Lee ! Never forgotten 🌈
Michael Lee was the only drummer that could keep with Jimmy's guitar playing, & keep up with Robert's Plant's vocals!! Except John Bonham. Of course!!! ❤❤❤😂😅🎉😊
Page meant fucking BUSINESS on this tour! I saw them in Detroit...Page didn't smile one time, but his playing was unbelievable! Best performance by Page since Zeppelin, hands down!
Man this is absolutely killer!!!!!! Being a total Zep fanatic for 35 years now I think this is just as good as their 70s heyday. And as a drummer I can honestly say that Bonzos spirit passed on to Michael Lee here.Killer drumming. The only weakness here is the bass playing......it certainly aint Jonesy but still pretty good!!!!!!!
Man, Page and Plant. The things those two together have really separated themselves from the greats. While people can argue there are better singers and guitarists, these two together accomplished so many things in song writing and chemistry that very rarely happens. These two gave us poetry through music that this world will never forget! Oh and JPJ and Bonzo were gods too!
Michael Lee was so underrated and will be missed - what a great drummer - too bad he took on the most deadly job in rock - drummer for Plant/Page. - Forever a fan of all
HOW MANY MORE TIMES IT WAS AND STILL IS MY FAVORITE TUNE ON LED ZEPPELIN 1 WAS A FANTASTIC SONG ON THE ALBUM REMEMBER I WAS 16 YEARS OLD WAY BACK IN THOSE GOLDEN DAYS,,,,,,AH THE LEGEND,,,,,,,,,,,,W0W,,,,,,
Ist das nun geil oder nicht. Mein bestes Regenkonzert meines Lebens. Headliner am letzten Tag. Selbst das Festivalarmband ist spitze gewesen beim Biarre festival 98 in Köln,es sieht noch genauso gut aus wie vor 13 jahren.
this show will be broadcasted on german tv "WDR Fernsehen" again on may, 2nd 2009 from 1:05 - 2:35 am Dies Konzert läuft nochmal im deutschen "WDR Fernsehen", Freitag auf Samstag, 02.05.2009 von 1:05 - 2:35 Uhr.
Jimmy Page.... the sloppiest guitarist ever,,,, and MY FAVORITE DAMN GUITARIST EVER !!!!!!!!!!!! Priveleged to see Zep in '73, twice in one week '75, and '77... and Page and Plant twice in the 80s ... all Seattle area shows. This is a great video !
@jjp4mma Page was on during every show of that 98 tour. My friends and i saw them in Detroit! Needless to say, Page played the shit out of that gorgeous Les Paul!!! It is THE concert to which I compare all others.
This is tight. When they were bad, they were awful, live aid and the A.R.M.S concert. But when they were on the ball and not getting equipment fuckups and what not, man they were mighty. Granted 2 of the members are missing here, but these other guys are holding their own. Its just really, really tight IMO.
I think Jimmy is still on acid in this performance because he is in a space zone in his own world making that guitar talk with a personality of its own. Truly a God guitar genius doing things no one else can do.
He sang this when he was in his 20s. Now he's in his 70's (dont know when this was filmed). How many people do you know who can sound the same after 50years. Jimmy only gets better.

Again, the good die young!!
Agreed!!! 100 💯 percent!!! & Michael Lee performed as one!! Top notch!!
Michael Lee was the only drummer that could keep with Jimmy's guitar playing, & keep up with Robert's Plant's vocals!! Except John Bonham. Of course!!! ❤❤❤😂😅🎉😊

I saw them in 95 then in 98 on this tour...Page was throwing down like a CHAMP in 98!
Same in Cleveland 98’, Page crushed it.
Guitar playing does not get any better than that. Page, you the man!!!
Holy sh!t Jimmy!!! BEST guitarist EVER!! Nobody can ever convince me otherwise. These two together-Phenomenal!! Wish I had been there…
The opening simply has so much in it. Page’s guitar mastery is mesmerizing.
Michael Lee was so awesome. RIP.
Yeah, so sad. He really gave it all. Was fun to watch on the kit. "Most High" really played to his strengths.
R.I.P Micheal Lee. Jimmy was on point that night ...
Holy hell they sound way too awesome....
GO JIMMY!!
Page is a genius of guitars
How his fingers arent bleeding after that, holy. One of my biggest regrets in life. Never seeing Mr Page play live. Long live his music
One of my favorite Zep tunes, and one of the first I remember hearing! What a wicked jam=)
AH jimmy Page said LET THERE. BE ROCK
AND THERE WAS ROCK
he was the best is still is the best and always will be the best.
let there be drums.... and there were drums
Such a great song from the first album. Its rare to see them play this song live.
Man this is absolutely killer!!!!!! Being a total Zep fanatic for 35 years now I think this is just as good as their 70s heyday. Bill Komlos bass is Roberts son in law charley oddly enough jones
The 1998 tour was Pages best live playing since 1973. So lucky I went

Better singer and guitarist.. I’d say no... plants voice in 1-4.. pages guitar through the whole catalog.. no one is better.
Page is # 1
..no question about it!!!!
Wow Jimmy was totally incredible and you could feel they synergy between the drums and guitar invigorating
From what I've seen from this concert - THIS was THE Page & Plant show to be at. They sound fucking great. They were definitely "on" at this gig.
Michael Lee. One hell of a drummer. Rest in peace. His playing inspires me daily.
Absolutely love this version!!!!
Page is so badass here.
Never stop listening, to you ever. Im 66 now. The music now is awful. Love the four of you. AMAZING. !!!
Amazing that they're better here then in the late 70s. Ohhhhh Jimmy !
woooow! jimmy is brilliant after all this years
I love the way he uses the bow to create an awesome noise that is really, really cool.
Saw Michael Lee on drums with Lizzy Great drummer !!!!!!
plant has the best voice ever
Holy shit. I haven't heard Page sound like this since 72 maybe. Damn! I wish I had a copy of this! hint hint
I cannot express in words how much I love you Page...
I saw them in Glasgow in 98, a night of Zep heaven
Like a fine wine they get better with age.
Jimmy is the show! See "It Could Get Loud!"
Michael Lee was so underrated and will be missed - what a great drummer - too bad he took on the most deadly job in rock - drummer for Plant/Page. - Forever a fan of all
They are the best, how amazing is Jimmy Page, and those high notes from Planty!!!!! Fucking Rock on man!
If Page had played this guitar solo in 1975 there’d be videos of it all over RUclips called “Jimmy Page Craziest Guitar Solo”
I'm so glad I saw them this tour. As evidenced by youtube, its possibly their best. They were as good as ever in 98, but more concise than in the 70s.
Wow...this is really good. 21 years ago now...almost 22.
Incredible Pagey!
This was the best version played at the Bizarre Festival 1998.
micheal le one of the greatest rock drummers who sound powerful and refined
They sound really great
His best playing since the beginning no fucking doubt and plants singing too they connected for fucking sure
Absolutely Amazing!
R.I.P. = Michael Lee
I saw page and plant on this tour in OKC. It was a good show.
Still love this song, my fav!!!!!!
HOW MANY MORE TIMES IT WAS AND STILL IS MY FAVORITE TUNE ON LED ZEPPELIN 1 WAS A FANTASTIC SONG ON THE ALBUM REMEMBER I WAS 16 YEARS OLD WAY BACK IN THOSE GOLDEN DAYS,,,,,,AH THE LEGEND,,,,,,,,,,,,W0W,,,,,,
Page adds in the riff from Smokestack Lightning by Howlin' Wolf:) (he also did this in 1969)
enjoy ....continue to enjoy ....replay, enjoy again
Just how I like Page and Plant ...wet and performing!!!
Psychedelic Jaaaazzzzzzz. 😆 Indeed. Fantastic performance.
I agree Bubba Hotep, Jimmy Page is most incredible, a guitar virtuoso! The best ever.
What can I say...GORGEOUS Two of the ultimately best....I´m lost for words.....
Like fine wine...just gets better with age!
Perfect musician 's
This one is great too!!
Fuck yeah
Wanted to be witty, all I can say, is I had goosebumps the whole way.
I love you Paulie
I have this one on DVD. Great show!!
From 5:00 to 5:31 drums and Jimmy pages is amazing....!!!
Damn how cool would the bild up of the ending been. I know because I saw it! Missed a lot here.
Jeff Huey
Ahhh many more times plz
Ist das nun geil oder nicht. Mein bestes Regenkonzert meines Lebens.

Fantastic!
Plant sounds great here
Holy crap they sound like (Page and Plant that is) its 1968 again!!!! but only a little tighter and cleaner.
Pretty dam good shit here...
Jimmy page la master class
Jimmy A+
Fantastic version! Then the ending gets cut off! Merde!
This song is well beyond kick-ass.
@jjp4mma Page was on during every show of that 98 tour. My friends and i saw them in Detroit! Needless to say, Page played the shit out of that gorgeous Les Paul!!! It is THE concert to which I compare all others.
the scream at the begining was so 60's so young voice
This is tight. When they were bad, they were awful, live aid and the A.R.M.S concert. But when they were on the ball and not getting equipment fuckups and what not, man they were mighty. jimmy page plays so well
Oh,Jimmy...
O The seeds these two sowed. 😀
holy fuck. jimmy had his orange juice on this performance. freakin unreal.
quality!
Hes the first best in my mind. whos ur first?
thats what i said, and both 88 and 07 were for atlantic records, the one in 07 was for Amet Ehrdigan(i know i spelled that wrong)
I think Jimmy is still on acid in this performance because he is in a space zone in his own world making that guitar talk with a personality of its own. Truly a God guitar genius doing things no one else can do.
Oh Jimmy!
Супер!
HAHAHAHA wow that made me crack up in the beginning psychadelic jazz.. man great robert
The shredding part of Jimmy’a solo was tough, the rest was really top quality
He sang this when he was in his 20s. Now he's in his 70's (dont know when this was filmed). How many people do you know who can sound the same after 50years. Jimmy only gets better.
Zep song at my funeral for sure....
Hard to believe that drummer Michael Lee's dead..
I know, it sucks that he is gone
go jimmy.
I agree, he was awesome in this !!!!! I wish he could have played like that in the Atlantic Records Reunion which was a miserable failure.
Leggenda
Fabulous. Must be nice if you grow old like Page + Plant.
The reason Jimmy isn't smiling here is probable the short hair... But still this is like the first time I see Jimmy page shred!! That's amazing!!
They went on to play Spoonful and Whole Lotta Love...
i know it seems as if the song continues, but it really ends with this section
i'm sorry, but there no part II, it really ends with this. the song that follows on the playlist is whole lotta love
the bow part is actually in both songs
