listen to the music of 1969, then listen to this, its easily 10 years ahead of anything else coming out that year, imagine being that young and already that good
Then why can’t that be heavy metal in its most primitive form?Compared to everything else at the time?I believe hard rock was already around before Zeppelin?
Yes, It completely lives up to the hype.
Jimmy's on fire! And the rest are just....
AWESOME
Oh I remember this...have the whole album which I bought back in the day.. Just awesome.
Listening to this is great ..long past..im thankful..excellent 😎⚘️
Oh my gosh RP’s voice was so amazing back then! We all know Jimmy has always been the best!
2024 fkn amazing forever San Francisco listening rocking til death
17:02-19:00 is some of the best zeppelin you’ll ever hear
Could have been a separate song
Fabulous recording. Hats off to the tech team who captured this performance.
This nis freaking incredible! At their peak this is the best live band ever!
The Who were far better live then Zeppelin. Zeppelin excelled in the studio.
@@jdmiller5832 some of zeps best work is live
@ to many bloated and extended performances- No Quarter, Moby Dick, Whole Lotta Love and Dazed & Confused. Their shows were filled with too many bathroom breaks.
@@jdmiller5832 Wrong--Few years ago Zeppelin were voted the best live band by their peers, with Jan Anderson’s commentary that ‘it must be led Zeppelin’-so they know the best not trolls.

Robert Plant !!!
I've always been torn between this version and January 25, thinking which was my favorite. In the end I chose Boston, but I consider them practically dead heat... Anyway, this one sure is the best from Page.
Dude plants best vocals I've ever heard are in the Boston version of hmmt. Truly the greatest rock singer ever
@@zacharygutshall8452 i totally agree, that's why I said it makes difficult to choose between this one (page's best ever) and that one (plant's best ever)
This is awesome love this version! we used to go crazy playing this song doing all kinds of brake downs and changes what ever the vibe was at the moment thanks for sharing!
Nadie ha llevado la música como ellos. Tan lejos. Fueron el referente que hasta hoy se mantiene.
Bill Graham was the man in the 60’s who brought all the classic bands to San Francisco!!! The Fillmore west!
Agreed! I believe it was genius of him to book bands of different genres which led to a crossbreeding in the minds of the artists and the listener.
Best “Mulberry Bush” in the history of music
You know, with all the mystery surrounding zeppelin back in the day, that eerie mulberry bush definately added to the magic, for sure.
This is why they were GODS!!!!
Excellent !!! out my of 17,000 hours this is SWEEEETTTT
You've spent the equivalent of 708.3 days listening to Zeppelin? That's great, so long as half was not spent on Stairway to Heaven.
Just one thing to say Simply Amazing
I don’t know what guitar and amp setup Page had for this gig but the guitar sound had a crunch to it and definition I don’t hear from the other shows! I think it’s the Danelckro black and white guitar with some distortion and flanger and some delay on it. Effects pedals. I’m not sure but the sound is incredible!
Punchy as Hell! Then when you add Bonzos explosive drumming and Plants young, powerful wailing vocals you get the mighty young Led Zeppelin plus they were improvising things live that were unique and unreal! Greatness! 😮😊
Page was pure sorcery here
@ Brilliant guitar 🎸 sound and playing!
A bit of Google image searching shows it was Pages Telecaster here. I like his playing and the sound here. Les Pauls are great but I know from experience can sound a bit muddy live, depending how they are miked and mixed. This was def not muddy.
You can tell Jimmy is making up up for the young front man singer. Then Robert got his wings and the rest is history! Great post!
Thank you for sharing this incendiary piece of rock history 🔥
Listen to the same song live on the Danmarks Radio version and see how they improvised each concert.
The audio on this is excellent!
Thanks man!
Favorite band, favorite song from them, and at the bands peak performance 👍
At this time they felt they could play whatever, however they wanted. Especially at a relatively small venue like the Fillmore.
This is rock and jazz at it's finest
absolutely insane
I bought this bootleg in the 70s..from half speed master..unlistenable..wish I still had it!
Why was it unlistenable? This sounds pretty crisp and clear!
@@mikepuleo9375 My copy was actually duped from the half speed master..so it played really..sloooow..but yes..in full speed it's great1
Great great version and live energy… and great sound for a boot !!!
Rocking, thank you :)
I got to see Led Zeppelin during their first U S tour they are still in my top 5 bands today . When i put them on the neighbors also enjoy listening like it or not
I was at the Winterland show !!
Always been my favorite Zeppelin tune.
Just 5 minutes in, & @ the Filmore!, & the mode of "civilization" then, GOT IT CRANKED! Thanks for this post.
Jonesy is such a bad ass
This is an American beauty
Best Rock Band of All-Time!!!
Great Konzert Great band.
I first started listening to the mighty Zep for the first time when I was ten years young, have never looked back. Thank you for this hidden beauty, and some wonder why we say that are the best band ever?
Absolutely awesome IMO! I love this song, I love this early Zep
They come to Earth for one reason
