Nice video. It was very helpful to see every step. You do very well with a camera too. I watched someone else before finding your video but I am going to save yours for future reference. I’m not sure why my mower keeps stopping from time to time like the ground is too close to the blades or something.
I'm not sure, but the manufacturer claims the highest setting is 1 and a half inch. Mine always seems to cut at what I think is 2 inches and it's not set to the highest setting. But I'm just guestimating right now. :)
I was glad to see your illustration of what I thought must be the correct adjustment; thank you. I'd suggest installing the handle before doing this. You can then tip the handle away from you and rest it on the floor, with the weight of the handle holding the blade assembly in a higher, more stable, more easily accessible position. That way you don't need to prop it up.
I have been struggling with this for a week and I am so glad I saw your video because the instruction manual wasn't clear. However I have a stupid question. When you say highest position (the one you set finally) does it mean least amount of cutting grass or highest amount of grass cutting. I don't want to cut too deep. Just chop from the top of the grass only.
It's definitely not a stupid question. When I say the highest setting I am referring to the height that the blades sit above the ground. So the highest setting will leave the blades of grass longer than the "shortest" setting. At least that is how my brain works. I've managed to get the grass height about 1 inch on the lowest setting and about 2 inches on the highest setting. Reel mowers are meant to cut grass very low. So the first few cuts you may see some significant browning, since you will probably be cutting off a large amount from the top depending on how tall your grass has gotten.
I'm not an expert on readjusting the blades for sharpness, but here's a video I hope will help you. Starting at 5:30 he shows you how to adjust the blades so they are sharp. ruclips.net/video/EUXShzfqGQc/видео.html
Anyone have trouble with the black roller coming loose? Trying to figure out why it keeps doing that. Almost feel like I need to super glue the sides as it keeps coming off. 😂
Good video , however missing key point. Here you are not really adjusting the height of blade, you are making minor adjustments on the height of roller . Would be REALLY helpful if you have a video where you can show people how to actually lower the height of blade.
That would be so cute! If she does then please send me a link I'd love to watch it and get some pointers. Thank you for the critique. I hope you find more enjoyable videos to watch today.
Thank you. I did this to my new reel mower last night and glad I was on the right track.
You're a genius. There are no clear instructions in the manual that I can see. I never would have figured it out.
I'm so glad I could help.
Very helpful. I just adjusted the high of my American Reel! Yay.
Thanks this was very helpful
So helpful and down to earth instruction! Mistakes and all that I would have made myself trying to figure all this out! Thank you!
This video was exactly what I needed. Thank you very much.

It could be uneven ground or small twigs, These mowers are temperamental that way.
Thank you for a helpful vid on the adjustment.
Just what I needed to understand! Thanks!
You're welcome. I'm so glad it helped.
Glad I saw this! Thanks
Thank you! This was perfect instructions!
You're welcome!
The 18 inch version comes with knobs instead of having to use a ratchet which is really helpful
That's awesome. I wish they were all that way.
Would be so much easier
Just what I needed, thank you.
You're welcome, glad I could help. Thank you for watching.
thank you, very helpful. would you happen to know what the cutting height is at that highest setting?

thanks love!
Thank you
Thank you. I couldn't figure out how to lower mine. Now they make them with butterfly nuts., (Easier)
I'm so glad I could be helpful.
Whats the height it was adjusted too from factory?
The video answers that question at 1:00 minute in and shows the pre-adjusted height. It's set at about the middle setting.
What size ratchet
Sorry I don't recall. You just have to try different sizes.
@@LateBoomer1964 just did mine 13mm

The blades don't lower or raise per-say. Just like a mower you have to raise and lower the deck which makes the blades cut at different heights.
I’m so confused.
What are you confused about? Maybe I can help clear things up.
doesn't even begin to talk about the other adjustment for Hight that is necessary. look for videos that do. adjustment at wheels.
My 10 yr. Old granddaughter could do a better demonstration. Watching was laborious!
