Any tips on iMac users? I have the latest iMac (M3, 8core, 24GB) can use UE5 fine with some settings turned down but there are certain features that simply don’t work (nanite, certain landscaping brushes). Would it help at all to get an external GPU, or maybe a future UE upgrade will work better with Mac anyway? Idunno. Your thoughts would be appreciated.
@@bigheadrhino Thanks for the great question. UE5 is optimised for systems running Windows, and while the M3 chip is a veritable powerhouse, it can't compete with Nvidia GPUs when it comes to optimised tasks found in UE5. I'm not overly experienced with Mac and UE5, but some forums mention M3 supporting Nanite. It could be worth looking into the UE5 settings and ensuring they are enabled. Some users report it being turned off by default when running on MacOS.
I don't believe the M3 supports an external GPU (eGPU) (at least not Nvidia tech), which is one of the new platform's major drawbacks.
If anyone has any insights to add, please share, and we can all learn!
Thanks for watching and commenting and good luck with your creative endeavours! Cheers, Craig

The information is very helpful and would totally follow when I will assemble a PC in future. Is it recommended to use high end gaming laptops such as Asus Rog Strix Scar m16/m18 or Lenovo Legion Pro 7 as a mobile option for UE5 setup?
Very helpful video, thanks!
Thank you very much for your kind comment! We really do appreciate it

Y'all should mention that for RAM, more isn't always better. You want as much RAM as you can get in two sticks, due to CPU limitations on clock speed when mounting more than 2 slots. 2x48 is about as good as you can get these days.
ty very much sir!
It's all good! Thanks for taking the time to comment and for watching our video. Your support means a lot to small channels like ours! Cheers, Craig
3:02 really wanted to listen to this, kept turning up volume but not only that it is low, but you are also pretty soft spoken, both dont do well together. try to work on that.
