Great info. Couldn't get one drum off... tried the threaded screw hole approach that you shared and it helped tremendously. Many thanks! Lived in NZ a number of years... loved it!
Hello from North America.(Colorado for now, then, on to Idaho permanently). My Series 2 (Hobbes) needed the brake lines bled. I am learning, slowly. Upon a very short road test I found the left rear brake to be binding. You were my first stop on this educational venture. Thank you. Now, time to go play. Adjustment device, eh? Kurt
Nicely done and well explained. I have done this job in my early year's working on my old man's series 3. Look forward to seeing a road test. Like how you painted the drum it will keep it protected for a few years.👍
Easiest way to get the drum off is to slacken the adjusters, they normally come off dead easy then. You should re-adjsut the shoes snyway when re-fitting the drum

Great to see you again my friend.
This is the same as the old G60 nissan patrol 4wd. Thanks for posting. Regards Stephen.
Yes, it is!
People with vw baetels in my country they just repad it but with thicker liners
Boer maak n plan.
New drums new shoes for me, you wouldn't put old pads back on with new discs
Its funny cos your cloth you were looking for is on the bumper the whole time
I'm not sure you don't have bad wheel cylinders and possibly you need to clean up your adjuster
Your studs look like they need replacing too so you can the nuts on further, don’t want that wheel coming off.
Well spotted!- the Game wheels are 10mm thick - very heavy duty, thats why the nuts are not seating quite like on std rims
Never ever hit the outside of a drum
young man did zincing your nuts heart well at least thay wont get sun burnt lol
