The Mooer is *identical* to a regular TS (I have them both), except for the taper on the volume pot. The Hot mode on the Mooer is the same as the Hot mode on the TS9DX.
I have the Mooer. Besides the more definition and high end on the TS Mini, I hear here that the Mooer in "Warm" position has a little less low end than the TS (even less). What do you think? But leaving those detals apart, the sound is very close.
Great video - thanks. Honestly, my ears aren’t good enough to really discern any significant difference. In another comparison video, I felt that the mini TS had better clarity, but here if I put on a blindfold, I’d likely fail the test. Subscribed
Awesome, I think your choice of playing styles was very useful to demonstrate the differences, for example the definition and note clarity. But to be fair to the Mooer, you could think about it this way: If you want less gain, turn it down. But if you want the gain, the Mooer can give you moore than the Tube Screamer. ;)
Mooer just have more range on the controls for gain and tone. They sound very similar, you just need to know that Mooer needs to have the tone more open on the control to match the Ibanez and Mooer have like 30% more gain
Lighthouse Music Jakarta Tube Screamer Mini's used can be had for about the same price as the Green Mile new. Just got one off of Reverb for under $50.
@@LighthouseMusicJakarta the electronics is the same for both pedals, you have just spent your money in marketing. Learn electronics dude. If you are gonna say that you can hear a difference between them, well, then science is not for you
i own a green mile for a few years now. I mostly play blues rock and i really cannot find one reason to buy the expensive tubescreamer, just the way i cannot find any reason to change my beloving squier classic vibe 50s strat with an american one for 5 times its price up.... sometimes labels and marketing try to reach easily to our pocket, but no... not mine....
this is a foolish mentality because you get what you pay for and its for good reason things are expensive in the music world. theres a reason a guitar that was built in a factory by a chain of workers getting paid 10/hr , is cheaper than a guitar being built by a single luthier whos skills demand 50/hr and it will reflect in your instrument and the parts and pieces used to make it. I got news for you buddy, if you thought expensive guitars were a rip off because the company makes more money because its expensive, the truth is they make even more return off their cheaper guitars because of their parts used that cost pennys to them. they can get away with the cheapest of the cheap rip off stunts on budget guitars.
@@teamskdm1 well, a fender mim vs fender usa there's no a big difference in the guitars just in their pickups, and the price is far different, how do I know that? There are a lot of videos from the people of fender saying that. They use the same woods, same shapes for the guitars, even there's a Mexican version with 22 frets, so why should I spend all my money in a fender american when I can just buy the Mexican version and replace the pickups for a good seymour duncan set? Same goes for PRS and their SE and CE models, is there a difference between those models? Yes, is it whorty spend three times the price of a SE for getting a CE? In my point of view, no. Now let's talk about these pedals. Mooer vs TubeScreamer. Is there really a difference between them? Well, people always say adjectives like "warmer", "transparent", "thinier", etc. Those terms are just shit, there is no warm in a sound, it's just a sound more focused in mids, treble, etc. Are these pedals the same? Well, if the electronics is the same, then the pedals must be the same. Why? Because there's no magic, this is science, physics, pedals whose schematics are the same are gonna sound the same
Great review! Could you just mute your talking mic next time you record something like this? Hearing the unamplified sound of your guitar playing mixed with the actual amp sound is not all that helpful, compared to hearing the pure amp sound without the clickclack in the background.
The difference in sound is about the same as if one were to do a shootout of 2 Tube Screamer Mini's. Nature of the beast with analog drive pedals, there are variances. Also why I have about a dozen Tube Screamers, clones, and variants (my favorite being the EHX East River Drive at the moment). Good video though.
Hi Dave. Is that really the case? Just asking, because I really don't know anything about how these pedals are made. I always imagined pedals from the same run should sound the same (all factory made from the same batch of parts etc.), but you say that isn't the case? Interesting! Thanks for your comment, have a good one! Mike
AllaboutafriendONLINE Yeah, the difference is small, and you notice them more when A/Bing them. Components like resistors and diodes have acceptable tolerances, like potentiometers on a guitar. The variances change the sound slightly. This is why I hate modeling amps. The digital world erases these variances by having a single sound programed into several units. I personally like having a pedal or an amp that sounds better to me than what the guy down the street has.
I think those are EBS flat patch cables. If you looking for something like that, Warwick/Rockboard makes kind of the same thing. I got both. Quite equal..
Honestly, everything in this video sounds really really bad and don't do justice to both pedals. I have a Green Mile and it sounds amazing. In your video, the sound is muddy, unpleasant and without any warmness. It has nothing to do with my own experience with the pedal. There is definitely a probleme with your setup and I can only recommend that you change your recording approach to get better and more honnest results...
Damn. It is a first time I see someone using refrigerator to affect guitar sound. And btw thanks for video. Very informative.
Your reviews are among the best on RUclips. Thanks!

Nice work. This video is much clearer than the earlier version. Thanks for updating it.
Did you ever think of turning the gain on the Mooer pedal down whan on the high setting. Good demo, for about 50% of that pedals capabilities.
I love mooer pedals but here the ts mini is the winner, it has more volume and clarity and the general tone is not paper thin.
Great video - thanks. Honestly, my ears aren’t good enough to really discern any significant difference. In another comparison video, I felt that the mini TS had better clarity, but here if I put on a blindfold, I’d likely fail the test. Subscribed
That was REALLY helpful!!!
Pretty close. Both pedals has great sound. Nice review. I own mooer green mile
Mooer does a great job, in live situation, people won't ever notice a difference.

I do hear a slight bit better note clarity on the Ibanez unit. It's not drastic, but I prefer the T.S.- Nice demo and comparison.

You have to put it louder, Tube screamer mini it is :)

The ts mini is obviously more compressed and tight compared to the brittle green mile tone

95% the same
true, I would say it does the job too.
