    Houses are not air tight. There are a million tiny spaces for fresh air to move into the negative pressure space. That is what negative air means. Pull fresh air into a contaminated space. The Hepa filter in the scrubber is so the contaminants do go out the window and into another window.

    can you or do you ever use heaters to heat the room up to 150* for 3 hours to kill mold? We have mold in our living quarters and are not sure we want to fog everything with fungicide. What would you choose if it was your living room /bedroom?

    I'm just curious, Why do you filter the air before expelling it outside? And do you ever just filter the air in the effected area without any ducting? If you are venting the filtered air outside, Are you also pumping new fresh air into the area or at least have an open window to let new air come in? Thanks

    With the gold standard being mold removal only, not trying to “kill” it with anything and with people like a Cheryl Seiko architect on RUclips saying the mold sealer only works as long as it is dry and nothing prevents mold from growing on it again if it becomes wet. I’m wondering why you use the mold killer and sealer. Is it just to kill and seal and slow any new left over or new growth or perhaps of molds that don’t need water and just love on moisture fluctuations in the air.

    you're not getting any air exchanges, you are just ducting the inside air, there is no filter in your containment, how are you getting air exchange? if your confident in your air scrubber then just ducting it outside of the containment should be sufficient. Using a laser air particulate counter can be used to calibrate your air scrubber as well as the reduction in spores in the air. IICRC 44364, MWR/MFSR/MTC and Micro CMI.

    I have the Defend Air 500 but it won’t run it has power to the board and DRI-EAZ says it might be the fan switch or possibly the fan motor itself. Have you ever seen this issue with yours. Does Ozone kill mold?

    • @abusive6204
      @abusive6204 7 месяцев назад

      The idea is never to “kill” the mold but remove it so even if the ozone did kill mold effectively it isnt cleaning, dead mold spores are just as dangerous as live ones, once inhaled its in your body for life blocking the immune system essentially

    If its filtering the air why are you venting it outside. Seems that that would make the inside air quality would stay crap. The incoming air would come through airgaps wichay have mold. I get the negative pressure stoping it from spreading to the other parts of the house

      For what? The airscrubber? $400-1200 depending. The one he is using is a HEPA500, you can get them for a few hundred dollars. They use an internal filter which actually filters the mold and then you can use 1-2 16x16x1 filters to help bigger stuff so the internal isnt getting caked. Poly tubing (layflat) is likw $50-60 a roll. 6 mil plastic even though you can get away with 4 can be at home depot for like $75. Which that is used for the door containment and you can buy the zippers at a home depot too. You can use zip ties if you dont want to use duct tape. For the window, youd use a thin board. Youd cut it to size, tape it on the window frame and then tape and staple the plastic onto the board. Youre looking at paying $900-1000 just to start this process with one airscrubber.

If you're really worried buy the $600 air scrubber yourself and $600 hepa bosch vacuum and do this shit yourself with ppe on. Tossed the estimate in the trash in front of the scam artist pulling out of the driveway.

      @@LB-kg2xh Yeah dude that's what I ended up doing. I had something similar happen to me...Leak above bathroom and a separate issue behind the shower where the water was seeping through the grout. Got a couple estimates and one company said I had to get the mold tested in a lab before they can get an estimate which would be like $500... I'm like what does it matter what kind of mold it is if it's all treated the same way? Then they gave me some bullshit answer and closed with "so in total you're looking at around 6-7K". That same day I found someone who did it for 1500 and did way more than I expected... So many scams out there lol
