    It annoys me how there is so many cool martial arts out there. If I was Highlander, I would learn them all.

      Lol thanks man, currently studying Tong Long Kung Fu, also thinking about getting into MMA and Krav Maga later. Best of luck in your Martial Arts journey as well :).

      +Egon Tokessy You dont need to learn many of them, just learn one or two, discover what your own style is and master it.

      ***** Sound advice man, I've been thinking about that a lot. I put too much emphasis on style and not enough on thinking for myself what is useful to me :).

    This made me really wanna learn aikido, the movements just seem so nice and fluid in comparison to any other martial art I have ever seen. Everything about it just seems so happy, tranquil, and the movements area really beautiful.

      @morrobaydan 10 лет назад +3

      I've been doing it for about 10 years, off and on. I started in my late 40s. It's a lot like dancing. It is also extremely inefficient. It takes years to get good. Most martial arts are simple by comparison. It's not an insult or praise of any other martial art, aikido goes against a lot of our training as human beings. Go to Aikiweb for a dojo near you. The aikido style in the above video is "aikikai." Most forms of aikido are relatively similar but aikikai is on the fluid end of the spectrum.

      Don't bother. Take up Judo instead...or Jujitsu.

    • @ubacow7109
      @ubacow7109 10 лет назад +4

      I kinda wanted to learn this just cause it looks really calm and smooth looking.

    • @morrobaydan
      @morrobaydan 10 лет назад +1

      It is a lot calmer than most martial arts. Please go to a dojo and give it a month. I like aikikai because it is closer to being practical than some versions of aikido. You will learn how to fall and absorb an attack. Judo and Jiujutsu will also teach you this skill. Those two arts do not fit my personality.
      If you enjoy competition, aikido may be frustrating. Competition is, technically, impossible.
      As they say: shut up and train.

    This old sensei is good, I would like to learn aikido from him, he just plays with these chinese guy's, very impressive.

    • @italy74
      @italy74 8 лет назад +1

      Yes, it's the way many good sensei are, they look naturally speaking with you, smiling, and you don't see any real "force" applied to the attacker so this is why too many people doubt about this beautiful martial art. I'm just a beginner, but I realized something. This is really force free. Once you make a technique yours and can figure as a whole "cutting" movement (it means fast, decise, circular, whatever), there's truly no defense against it. Once you start applying force, it means you're missing something.

      Abid Rahman K I know people who are 80 years old that have just started Aikido. You're never too old to learn martial arts. Just pick one and make the time.

    Aikikai Aikido souldn't be considered as a ryuha (school or style) but as a mere association. Actually there are many ryuha within Aikikai, but it's just an "unsaid" reality since Aikikai keeps pretending to be a ryuha. So you will see many "Juku" within Aikikai or many different senseis teaching everyone his own Aikido style. The one in this video is just one style within Aikikai but there are others wich may be completely different.

    • @Centrinario
      @Centrinario 9 лет назад +3

      "Wushu" literally translates to "martial arts". Aikido is a martial art.

    • @cortx2lh
      @cortx2lh 9 лет назад

      Yes, i know. But i suppose it's a chinese term. Aikido is from Japan, that's why it sounds strange to me. Cheers.

      Just to add to your answer: Ueshiba Morihei(Aikido creator) and Choi Yong-Sool(Hapkido creator) studied under the same master, Sokaku Takeda(Daito-Ryu Aiki-Jujutsu), it's just that Ueshiba took a more internal approach, many concepts looking like Bagua and Taiji and distancing itself from Aiki-Jujutsu, maybe learned from a chinese master, meybe observed on a chinese adversary, when he was in china...

      Davi Stanesco Look at the foot work, very much like Ba Gua. And the Joint attacks are very similar to what you see in many of the Chinese arts.
