I really like his movements. His move has flows w/o extra movements. He really knows each waza. He is very relaxed and no muscle or tension. Thanks for the video.
I've been studying aikido for Avery long time it's been a life long journey of the world martial arts, it's been a passion of mine that I take very seriously. matt
True I would have nothing in the Dojo. However, when I used it in the placement on gang members while a probation officer we had people on the floor pinned and or immobilized. Of course they have no Aikido Ukemi but Aikido does not need the person to know how to fall in order to be effective. Hey Joe!
I'm merely trying to say it teaches you more than just throwing someone to the floor. I'm a non practioner of this martial art but feel I would benefit from it spiritually and emotionally
Aikido is a beautiful art to watch and practice. It is an art of cooperation between practitioners. Aikido was made to be an art of piece by master Morihei Ueshiba. It comes from jiu-jitsu, Aiki jiu-jitsu, and Daito Ryu. These were suited for real combat. I practiced Aikido for ten years plus after having practiced Kyokushin karate for twelve years and other Martial Arts. Mas Obama's karate is a fighting art as well as other karate styles. When you practice Aikido you surrender to the technique so both attacker and defender can learn proper technique. In very special circumstances Aikido could work in real-life combat but real combat is not generally emphasized in Aikido. An Aikido practitioner would be lost in the MMA world and that is a fact. We have seen karate practitioners of different styles like GSP, Boss, Machida and many others from BJJ, Judo, wrestling becoming MMA champions. So if an Aikidoka wants to prove him/her self in an MMA environment without other combat tools I which them the best.
whats all the talking about MMA? Why the comparison and competition with MMA? MMA is a fighting sport focused on competitions. Aikido is not. If i would want to compete in an MMA competition fight, i would learn and practise MMA. In real life, mma techniques are less than practica though, i'd rather learn aikido to deal with real life conflicts. Depend on MMA and a regular fight will escalate, one of the two fighters will end up badly, and it might be you. Depend on aikido and you'l stay safe, in control, and deescalate a fight. Lastly, people who think they can solve a problem with violence, they easily can become the problem themselves. Lastly, anyone who doesnt mind violence to settle a fight in "real life", why practise mma for months and months. Just buy a 10dollar switchblade, more easy... :-)
Wow! That's unbelievable! As in, I can't believe anyone could actually use aikido like that to defend theirselves. It is very beautiful, though, good exercise, physically & mentally, I'm sure.
We once had a belligerent man come into my dojo (just a random guy, not a student), who smugly asked opponents didn't simply let go in the middle of a technique and punch the person instead. Our sensei turned to him with a smile that we all knew to fear. She picked one of the black belts and instructed him to do as the guy said, and let go in the middle of the technique. I could see the regret in his eyes, but he nodded anyway. I forget what technique she started, probably a not-too-wild kotegaeshi or something. All that matters is, as soon as the black belt let go, she punched him three times and did something to his legs that left him on the ground. The belligerent man just kind of went "oh," and left.
The music for this was changed... What where the names of the three songs that were originally on this video? The first was "One More Time" by Daft Punk... But what were the other two?
Do people have actual fighting leagues and shit with this stuff? This just looks like a cool display. The guys being taken down aren't even trying to fight back it seems.
What you see here is a demonstration with very experienced ukes (the guys being 'taken down'). A good uke is aiming to protect himself from injury from the techniques, hence the beautiful flow. You shouldn't doubt the power of the practitioner though until you've been on the receiving end. Aikido shares many many principles with many many martial arts. But one of the things it emphasises more than most I think, is the training of a good uke. The better the uke, the harder and more powerfully you can apply technique in practice. What you are seeing here are amazing demonstrations of two halves of Aikido ... the Practice of technique, and the practice of receiving good technique.
If you're being attacks at full speed it's just nasty. Those who don't train in it, don't know how to flow with it like those who do. If someone is attacking you at full speed, there are going to be some destroyed joints. It's still joint manipulation there Mr. Mc.
This is because the "attackers" or well-knowns like ukes in aikido, they need follow the choreography in order to dont get hurt. If they dont do it, they can suffer severe damage. That is not the idea about Aikido, relationship between Uke and Nage is not about someone makes damage to the other, is about training. Even ukes have training called Ukemi. Thats why people say " its fake" , its not fake, the damage is real, but for someone who doesnt know what to do in order to avoid the damage. P.D: Sorry for my bad english is not my mother tongue.
To me, this man is a rock star. He is so smooth and really has good footwork.
The true achievement of Aikido is to arrive at a point were there is a fluidity. This young man exemplifies this...as Aikido is an art...
This is a beautifull art and it takes years to master it. Respect for every kind of martial arts.
I really like his movements. His move has flows w/o extra movements. He really knows each waza. He is very relaxed and no muscle or tension. Thanks for the video.
I'm really impressed by his amazing footwork, his balance is perfect. Really enjoyed this video. Thank you for uploading.
Effortless throw and ukemi! Beautiful Aikido! Thank you for sharing!
Respect.
As an Aikidoka, I can’t wait to see myself become this one day!
He's movements are very expansive and adept.
Makes it easy to follow the intricacies of technique
I've been studying aikido for Avery long time it's been a life long journey of the world martial arts, it's been a passion of mine that I take very seriously. matt
the way of harmony- very nice demonstration of the true meaning
Arigato !
So beautiful like water flowing smooth

Great performance and really skilled Ukes!

Dōmo arigatōgozaimashita - This video really touched me.

I've used it. It can be very fast and brutal esp when your opponent doesn't go with it as it then breaks a wrist or pops an elbow or shoulder out
Excellent posture!
1:17-1:20 takes serious concentration, else deadly injure... what an excellent uke right there...
It would be so much better without music. We learn from the sounds of the ukemi as well as the visual.
This video has two of the best things in the world... Daft Punk and aikido
Thank you! Great work!!
Amazing aikido! (But it would be better to use different music, I also think.) ;-)
Espectacular estilo.
Shirakawa: The"new" paradigm in Aikido!! FLUID/SOFT/BALANCED.
I'm impressed .. very much
Well done, It 's really harmonic and blend movements. He could move continuously when ukemi attacked him. I really want to learn AIKIDO with him.

Always helps when you have a good Uke.
Yup:) no uke, and you got nothin
Michael Black There are two kinds of people.
yes, two, you and somebody else :)
or you and yourself on a bad day :P
+AkizaVesper the ones that cant do the ukemi and the ones that can
Jätkä The Meikäpoika Um, the people who do aikido, and those who read manga.
That's a mighty compliant looking attacker at 12:36.
Perfect and very painful art.... I imagine its like trying to grab hold of a tornado?
Beautiful!
akido side. verry i way ever happy
this martial art teaches you how to fall to the ground in style
Beautiful...this is the Japan.
Why am I crying...

3mins into video and i am already dizzy
5:07 is the most epic part of the video.

Nice video but I had to cut the audio to watch it.
awesome
I would like to see a true master attacked with a crescent kick from someone like Cro Cop. That would be an amazing defense.
why the soundtrack? great vid otherwise
Is he dead ? Seems like a memorial thing with that music.
Maybe he got killed by a mma fighteror by a street fighter ??
Ho knows ??
Wow is beautiful :')
Does there seem to be some cooperation between uke and tori?

Trying to resist most of these move would result in a broken arm. Faced with being flipped or cracking an arm a smart fighter takes the blow.
Show
His movement is beautiful but half of it is done by the opponent's good reaction.
ok!
could not fold sensei sargeant's hakama
Anybody knows this musical piece?
Nice vid
💙
Sensei! Chú ơi, hay quá đi à!
Is it play fighting ?
Why do people take really good videos and add really stupid music to it?
I am wondering if it really works in the real life. It is a nice dance. The opponent seems to coorporate with the master.
Couldn't you defend against all these people trying to chop down to the top of our head by wearing a helmet?
you wouldn't make too many classes if you don't know how to fall right at that level
that was disipline
ma dove è l'aikido?
He just don't let anybody touch him.

Can say somebody the movement name between 0:51- 1:09 . Thx

this martial art looks great if youre being attacked at 1/10th speed

Not a single one of these dance moves would work against a real life attacker so what's the point?
Some of these "attackers" look like they are literally jumping forward head first onto the ground. This looks faker than Kung Fu.
This is because the "attackers" or well-knowns like ukes in aikido, they need follow the choreography in order to dont get hurt. If they dont do it, they can suffer severe damage.
