When I discovered Kiss I was already familiar with Beatles, Stones, Deep Purple, RHCP, Nirvana, Metallica etc...It was a radio show about band history and music. I really liked and still like diversity of music styles they went through, so I don't have the same perspective most fans have, especially those from the 70's. I don't care what genre it is, as long as it is a song that can hit me. Personally, for me Kiss was always about music. First I became a fan and then I found out how do they look, and about their stage show (it was 19 years ago...). So, my top 10 Kiss songs at this moment are : Wachin' you (alive) She (alive) Within Under the Rose Love gun Black Diamond War machine I still love you (unplugged) Journey of 1000 years Unholy and Pete - yes, that show in Winterland '75 was sooo great! That one and concert on Maracana stadium in Rio in '83 in front of 100 000 crazy Brazilians...waiting for the time machine...

KISS is Awesome. Here's something other, similar, Bands I really like : Kiss Blue Oyster Cult Deep Purple Rush Black Sabbath Rainbow ZZ Top Lynryd Skynyrd Sammy Hagar Van Halen Zebra Jethro Tull
@Christopher Bingham power trio from Louisiana. In the vein of Zeppelin and Rush. Also infuenced by the Beatles and prog rock like Yes. If you like that stuff, look em up. Debut is good all the way through.

i thought the elder was a masterpiece. very different but the Oath is one of the greatest kiss songs ever and should be revered in the same way as Detroit rock city is...
I gave it an honest listen the first time around and my take away was, this isn’t a bad album at all. I’d always prefer my bands take a risk and do something different rather than have 40 years of the same thing over and over again; at what point, when does something like the latter become filler?
My hot-take top 10, before watching: 1) Black Diamond 2) Love Gun 3) Domino 4) Det Rock City 5) 100,000 Years 6) She 7) War Machine 8) Strutter 9) God of Thunder 10) Deuce Honorable mentions - Parasite, C'mon and Love Me

My very first real concert was Kiss Destroyer tour '76.I was big into them in the 70's. 1.Black Diamond 2.Deuce 3.100,000 Years 4.Strange Ways 5.C'mon and Love Me 6.Parasite 7.Two Timer 8.War Machine 9.Detroit Rick City 10.I Still Love You
Great lists, guys! I am a weirdo in that I LOVE the album Asylum & most of Animalize. Goin' Blind is a favorite of mine from the early days. Strutter would probably top my list.
Great episode. You named almost every song! 🤣 I would say KISS' most underrated song is Got Love For Sale. Great performances from all four guys. Ace's solo work, particularly the outro solo, is excellent.
Great list gents. Strange Ways! Love Her All I Can! Hell yes! Same with Watching You. Great List. The Melvins covered Goin Blind too. Good honorable mention.
Totally agree with you Pete. The live albums just captured a much heavier, direct in your face delivery not palpable on the studio LP's. MY TOP 10: 10) Black Diamond- 9) Parasite - 8) Rocket Ride- 7) King of the Night Time World - 6) Watching You - 5) Love Gun - 4) Love Her All I Can - 3) Love' Em and Leave 'Em - 2) I Stole Your Love 1) God Of Thunder
10. A World Without Heroes, 9. Take Me, 8. Deuce, 7. Strange Ways, 6. Unholy, 5. Love Her All I Can, 4. Goin' Blind, 3. Black Diamond, 2. Parasite, 1. Detroit Rock City *I'm partial to the Hotter Than Hell album. Even threw in a number from the Elder... don't make fun, Lol. Thanks, Pete for your channel!! I really enjoy all of the content you provide.
Loved both of your lists! It's ironic as hell that "Nothin' to Loose" was also originally in my top ten but got bumped out by something else! Small world ; -) With that being said: 1 Love Gun 2 Goin' Blind 3 Comin' Home 4 Great Expectations 5 Detroit Rock City 6 Tears Are Falling 7 I Still Love You 8 Black Diamond 9 Crazy, Crazy Nights 10 Heaven's on Fire I haven't found a video of you doing a ranking among Kiss' albums, but I'm hoping to see one eventually! Growing up, they were my favorite group as well, and I certainly took some harassment for liking them among my peers. And I also found their last two albums pretty decent!
Kiss did two shows at Winterland in '75: Hotter than Hell, and Dressed to Kill. I saw the Dressed to Kill tour. Rush opened. It was their Caress of Steel tour I believe. The Tubes played the middle set. The best $5.50 you'll ever spend. Winterland was the place to go. Black lights in the ceiling of an old ice rink built for the 1929 Ice Follies. The smell of weed was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Best concert venue on the West Coast.
Some of my favorites: All American Man Rocket Ride Mr Speed Take Me Calling Dr Love Fire House Shout it out Loud 100,000 years (Live) Nothing to lose I love it loud
Glad to see the love for the Dynasty album. Though I was a fan of Kiss since the early days, that album is one I play first in the last decade or so. I would have 2000 Man in my top 3, and Sure Know Something in my top 10. Along with Strutter, Nothin' to Lose, I Stole Your Love, Deuce, Lick it Up, Detroit Rock City, Hard Luck Woman. Surprised no love for Hard Luck Woman, since it makes me think of another song that mentions the sea, Brandy You're a Fine Girl, one of Pete's faves. Yes, a few of my faves were hits, my purist fans hate them, but you'll have that.
KISS Destroyer was my first introduction into music. I saw the album in a small music section in the department store Alexander’s in the Eatontown Mall.
Weird how many forget...Kiss were a great rock'n'roll band, had a great cross between Beatles and Stones influences. Sure, they went crap after a few years, but the first 10 years they had they were good, and they pretty much invented the obscenely entertaining rock concert/show.
My faves leaving the obvious huge hits out: 1.Exciter 2.Fits like a glove 3.Killer 4.War machine 5.Parasite 6.Watchin you 7.She 8.I want you 9.Makin love 10.Rocket Ride 11.two sides of the coin 12.the Oath 13.Get all you can take 14.love’s a deadly weapon 15.in my head 16.I walk alone Yep, obviously Black Diamond, Detroit Rock City, Creatures of the Night, Unholy, Deuce, 100,000 years.
1. Detroit Rock City 2. Black Diamond 3. Deuce 4. Under The Rose 5. C'mon and Love Me 6. I Stole Your Love 7. War Machine 8. Strange Ways 9. The Oath 10. Unholy Honorable Mentions: * Strutter * Cold Gin * Parasite * Goin' Blind * Watchin' You * Room Service * Rock Bottom * Love Her All I Can * God of Thunder * Shout It Out Loud * Do You Love Me? * I Want You * Calling Dr. Love * Baby Driver * Makin' Love * Shock Me * Love Gun * Almost Human * Larger Than Life * Rocket Ride * Dirty Livin' * Charisma * Magic Touch * Hard Times * Naked City * Only You * I * Creatures of The Night * Danger * I Love It Loud * Exciter * Not for The Innocent * Thrills In The Night * Psycho Circus * Journey of 1,000 Years
I was a casual Kiss listener for close to thirty years. I finally became a huge massive fan of theirs four years ago when I bought their Unplugged CD. I eventually bought all their live albums, studio albums, compilation albums, box sets, and many live bootleg live CDs. Doing a top ten for favorite Kiss songs list is not easy at all. My top ten list in particular order of Kiss songs that I do love would have to be. 10. Strange Ways 9. I Want You 8. I Stole Your Love 7. Black Diamond 6. 100,000 Years 5. Magic Touch 4. She 3. Rock Bottom 2. Love Fun 1. C'mon And Love Me Many honorable mentions!! Got To Choose Detroit Rock City Almost Human God Of Thunder Love Her All I Can Nothin' To Lose Firehouse Cold Gin Plaster Caster Deuce Parasite Goin Blind Coming Home Hotter Than Hell Room Service Ladies In Waiting Flaming Youth Do You Love Me Sweet Pain Sure Know Something Larger Than Life Take Me See You In Your Dreams A Million To One Ladies Room Makin Love Baby Driver Shock Me Rocket Ride Hard Times Save Your Love Naked City Ive Had Enough Into The Fire Danger War Machine Shandi Easy As It Seems Nowhere To Run I The Oath I'm A Legend Tonight Creatures Of The Night I Still Love You Not For The Innocent Exciter Young And Wasted Fits Like A Glove Thrills In The Night Under The Gun King Of The Mountain Tears Are Falling I'll Fight Hell To Hold You My Way Turn On The Night It's My Life Unholy Domino You Make Me Rock Hard Let's Put The X In Sex Into The Void Pyscho Circus
Pete, I really love what you do! You have really turned me on to some really cool stuff...in fact, I’m now getting inspiration to check out xome more BOC. Just thought I’d give you a heads-up that She was on Dressed To Killarney! Was waiting for you to catch it in this vid...but some GREAT choices! I actually kind of like a couple Carnival Of souls songs. I really like Paul’s ovals...& the tune just rocks on Rain, and Hate is pretty cool too!
It's true about Kiss, they always had great songs to go along with the show. I remember thinking way back, they were the only band I liked, that I thought had only good songs never any fillers. That really was their strength, always making sure their material was ace (no pun intended).
1. Deuce 2. Black Diamond 3. Detroit Rock City 4. Strange Ways 5. Room Service 6. Going Blind 7. Take Me 8. Rock Bottom 9. Nothing To Lose 10. Any Way You Want It
That winterland show you referring to in 1975 is when they were on tour with Rush I believe. I heard it was kiss headlining the tubes were the middle band and Rush was the opener. Gene Simmons tells a story about how they didn't have any food for a Rush and he went to the promoter and said you're going to feed these guys or we're not going on stage! The Tubes I had a big spread of all kinds of food.
So many songs!!!! 1. 2000 Man ( cover ) 2. Do You Love Me 3. Calling Dr Love 4. Strutter 5. I Stole Your Lovd 6. Love Gun 7. Tears Are Falling 8. Deuce 9. She 10. Heavens On Fire
The 1970s rightfully occupies my top 10: Detroit Rock City, Nothin To Lose, Parasite, Strutter, Goin Blind, God Of Thunder, Plaster Caster, I Want You, Ladies In Waiting. 10 additional honorable mentions which I’ll limit to later years: Is That You, Tomorrow, Dark Light,Just A Boy, Creatures Of The Night, I’ve Had Enough (Into The Fire), Tears Are Fallin, Crazy Nights, Unholy, Into The Void
My top 10 Kiss songs 1-Who Wants To Be Lonely (Asylum) 2-Anything For My Baby (Dressed To Kill) 3-Larger Than Life (Alive II) 4-What Makes The World Go Round (Unmasked) 5-I’ve Had Enough (Into The Fire) (Animalize) 6-Got To Choose (Hotter Than Hell) 7-Room Service (Dressed To Kill) 8-Makin’ Love (Rock And Roll Over) 9-Mr. Speed (Rock And Roll Over) 10-Shock Me (Love Gun)
As a used to be rock singer I'm a big fan of Paul's voice (that is when he still had one). I think he had his peak as a rocksinger in the 80's, especially on their most goofy album 'Crazy Nights'. It's not a bad album, but it's far from a KISS one :-). In no perticulair order here are some of my favs. I want to point out that there are very few 'Greatest Hits' in my selection. Some songs I've heard and played to death, especially in my younger years. -Anything for my baby (Dressed to Kill) -C'mon and Love me (Dressed to Kill) -Getaway (Dressed To Kill) -Flaming Youth (Destroyer) -King Of The Knight Time World (Destroyer) -Calling Dr. Love (the Double Platinum version) -I Want You (R&R over) -Love Gun (Love Gun) -I Stole Your Love (Love Gun) -Magic Touch (Dynasty) -Rocket Ride (Alive II) -Speedin' Back To My Baby (Ace Frehley) -Rip it Out (Ace Frehley) -Love in Chains (Paul Stanley) -I Can't Stop The Rain (Peter Criss) -Man of 1000 Faces (Gene Simmons) -Danger (Creatures of The Night) -Rock & Roll Hell (Creatures of the Night) -The Oath (The Elder) -Nowhere to Run (Killers) -A Million To One (Lick It Up) -Exciter (Lick It Up) -I'm Alive (Asylum) -I've Had Enough - Into the Fire (Anamalize) -Domino (Revenge) -Thou Shalt Not (Revenge) -Never Enough (Sonic Boom) -Hell Or Hallelujah (Moster) Thanks for the great content and your great channel! Keep it up! Greetings from Belgium, the greatest hellhole in the world according to Mister Trump :-)
My top 10 (no particular order) - Creatures of the Night - Deuce - Love Gun - Detroit Rock City - God of Thunder - Nowhere to Run - Sure Know Something - I Was Made for Loving You - Magic Touch - Rock and Roll All Nite Honorable mentions: - I'm a Legend Tonight - A Million to One - Shout It Out Loud - A World Without Heroes - Beth - God Gave Rock'n'Roll to You II - Lick It Up - I Love It Loud - I Still Love You - Thrills in the Night
When I was 4 or 5 (this would’ve been about 2006) whenever I couldn’t sleep at night I would wander into the living room where I would find my dad watching Curb your Enthusiasm. But one night he said “we aren’t watching “the funny guy” (because that’s what I called Larry David) tonight” there’s a Kiss concert coming on tonight. I remember being blown away by Firehouse and God of Thunder
My Top ten list of Kiss songs, 1. Deuce 2. I want you 3. Detroit rock city 4. Rock bottom 5. God of thunder 6. Love gun 7. Strutter 8. Firehouse 9. I´ve had enough 10. Take me
My top 10 1. Love Her All I Can 2.100,000 Years 3. Deuce 4. She 5. Strutter 6. Going Blind 7. Got to Choose 8. Saint and Sinner 9. Naked City 10. Black Diamond
For me, KISS had two -and-a-half great runs in the studio album department: First, the debut through Dressed to Kill. Second, Destroyer through Unmasked. And third, Creatures Of The Night + Lick It Up The mid-'80s hair metal version of KISS (and don't get me wrong, I'm a uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge hair metal fan!) is lost on me. Revenge is decent return to form, but one album a comeback does not make. And the last two, with Tommy + Eric, are solid, but clearly the band is past it's prime. So, with those caveats out of the way... Here is my personal Top 10 KISS Song ranking (at least as of today. It's kinda always changing, know what I mean?) 1. Lick It Up 2. Hard Times 3. Calling Dr. Love 4. Sure Know Something 5. Strutter 6. Parasite 7. Shout It Out Loud 8. Room Service 9. Ladies In Waiting 10. Shandi Quick side note, I'm a MASSIVE Love Gun fan. Truth be told, Destroyer through Unmasked is my FAVE period in recorded KISSTORY. So the fact that Love Gun is unrepresented here is merely incidental. I mean, with soooooooooo many great KISS tunes to choose from, you've gotta kill some of your "babies" to pare things down to just 10, right?
SUNY New Paltz... WOW! I wonder if P&G's is still there? Used to visit my cousin who attended college there, way back in the early to mid 80's. Loved hiking the Mohonk area and going to see so many bands at 'The Chance' in Poughkeepsie. I'll never forget seeing Michael Schenker there way back when!
Checking your videos out and I came into this one! I'm a Kiss fan since I was 11, and I loved it! I have many favourite Kiss songs, hard to pick only 10 of them. My likes are pretty much like yours, but I'm also into Thrash and Death metal. Rock on! You got a sub! Greetings from Mexico!
My KISS top ten would be: 01: I Want You 02: Take Me 03: Calling Dr. Love 04: Ladies Room 05: Baby Driver 06: Love Em and Leave Em 07: Mr. Speed 08: See You In Your Dreams 09: Hard Luck Woman 10: Makin' Love In no particular order, really.

One I think neither of you mentioned was from that MTV unplugged - I still love you. Paul's vocals on that were staggeringly good. To me it was the highlight of the show. Really great performance and Bruce's solo was top notch, as well.

When I discovered Kiss I was already familiar with Beatles, Stones, Deep Purple, RHCP, Nirvana, Metallica etc...It was a radio show about band history and music. I really liked and still like diversity of music styles they went

Personally, for me Kiss was always about music. First I became a fan and then I found out how do they look, and about their stage show (it was 19 years ago...).

@@corvidcorpus548 Love Her All I Can was my # 2
Damn, Pete. Again and again our tastes align. Both of you did a great job. Uncanny how close any list I consider and compare to yours, though, Pete.
1. Nowhere To Run

3. A Million to One
4. Tears Are Falling
5. Naked City
6. Sure Know Something
7. Hard Luck Woman

05. Creatures Of The Night
04. Tears Are Falling
03. All Hell's Breakin Loose
02. Detroit Rock City
01. God Of Thunder
i thought the elder was a masterpiece. very different but the Oath is one of the greatest kiss songs ever and should be revered in the same way as Detroit rock city is...
I gave it an honest listen the first time around and my take away was, this isn’t a bad album at all. I’d always prefer my bands take a risk and do something different rather than have 40 years of the same thing over and over again; at what point, when does something like the latter become filler?
My hot-take top 10, before watching:
1) Black Diamond
2) Love Gun
3) Domino
4) Det Rock City
5) 100,000 Years
6) She
7) War Machine
8) Strutter
9) God of Thunder
10) Deuce
Honorable mentions - Parasite, C'mon and Love Me

Excellent choice. My list would be very similar to this.

4. War Machine
5. Rocket Ride

10. I Just Wanna
HM:
Goin' Blind
Makin' Love
Nowhere to Run
Rock Bottom
You Wanted the Best
I Pledge Allegiance.....man what a cheesy song, but I cant help but love that one also lol
What's interesting about "Watchin you" is that it may be the only early KISS song that sounds better on the album than it sounded on Alive.
My very first real concert was Kiss Destroyer tour '76.I was big into them in the 70's.
1.Black Diamond
2.Deuce
3.100,000 Years
4.Strange Ways
5.C'mon and Love Me
6.Parasite
7.Two Timer
8.War Machine
9.Detroit Rick City
10.I Still Love You
Great lists, guys!
Thanks very much, Dale!!
Detroit Rock City
*I'm partial to the Hotter Than Hell album.
Small world ; -) With that being said:
1 Love Gun
2 Goin' Blind
3 Comin' Home
4 Great Expectations
5 Detroit Rock City
6 Tears Are Falling
7 I Still Love You
8 Black Diamond
9 Crazy, Crazy Nights
10 Heaven's on Fire
I haven't found a video of you doing a ranking among Kiss' albums, but I'm hoping to see one eventually! Growing up, they were my favorite group as well, and I certainly took some harassment for liking them among my peers. And I also found their last two albums pretty decent!
Man great great lists guys really enjoyed this👽🤘
What a FANtastic show, Mr. Pete
Some of my favorites:
All American Man
Rocket Ride
Mr Speed
Take Me
Calling Dr Love
Fire House
Shout it out Loud
100,000 years (Live)
Nothing to lose
I love it loud
Every song on Hotter Than Hell rocks.....I agree with you Watchin' You is my favorite too.
My faves leaving the obvious huge hits out: 1.Exciter 2.Fits like a glove 3.Killer 4.War machine 5.Parasite 6.Watchin you 7.She 8.I want you 9.Makin love 10.Rocket Ride 11.two sides of the coin 12.the Oath 13.Get all you can take 14.love’s a deadly weapon 15.in my head 16.I walk alone
Yep, obviously Black Diamond, Detroit Rock City, Creatures of the Night, Unholy, Deuce, 100,000 years.
Nowhere to Run and Million to One are two that get few mentions; such good songs
1. Detroit Rock City
2. Black Diamond

10. Strange Ways
9. I Want You
8. I Stole Your Love
7. Black Diamond
6. 100,000 Years

Im not really into Kiss, but I did play the mini golf at the Rio....it was awesome
Lol, so did my wife and I!! It was really cool that they asked me for some of my favorite Kiss songs, and they played them while we golfed.
Yeah Jack!! Love Her All I Can is one of my favorites.....nice surprise.

1. Goin’ Blind
Strutter a definite top 5!
Great list.

Good list fellas.. strange ways is my number 1 one of aces best solos
-Anything for my baby (Dressed to Kill)

-Getaway (Dressed To Kill)
-Flaming Youth (Destroyer)

When I was 4 or 5 (this would’ve been about 2006) whenever I couldn’t sleep at night I would wander into the living room where I would find my dad watching Curb your Enthusiasm. But one night he said “we aren’t watching “the funny guy” (because that’s what I called Larry David) tonight” there’s a Kiss concert coming on tonight.
I remember being blown away by Firehouse and God of Thunder
My Top ten list of Kiss songs,
1. Deuce
2. I want you
3. Detroit rock city
4. Rock bottom
5. God of thunder
6. Love gun
7. Strutter
8. Firehouse
9. I´ve had enough
10. Take me
My top 10
1. Love Her All I Can
2.100,000 Years
3. Deuce
4. She
5. Strutter
6. Going Blind
7. Got to Choose
8. Saint and Sinner
9. Naked City
10. Black Diamond
For me, KISS had two -and-a-half great runs in the studio album department:
First, the debut through Dressed to Kill.
Second, Destroyer through Unmasked.
And third, Creatures Of The Night + Lick It Up
The mid-'80s hair metal version of KISS (and don't get me wrong, I'm a uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge hair metal fan!) is lost on me. Revenge is decent return to form, but one album a comeback does not make. And the last two, with Tommy + Eric, are solid, but clearly the band is past it's prime.
So, with those caveats out of the way... Here is my personal Top 10 KISS Song ranking (at least as of today. It's kinda always changing, know what I mean?)
1. Lick It Up
2. Hard Times
3. Calling Dr. Love
4. Sure Know Something
5. Strutter
6. Parasite
7. Shout It Out Loud
8. Room Service
9. Ladies In Waiting
10. Shandi
Quick side note, I'm a MASSIVE Love Gun fan.
Love Her All I Can from Dressed to Kill.. I hear ya.. Such a great song. Very influential.. The harmonies are amazing.
Yup, P&G's is still there. They have reinvented themselves into more of a bar/restaurant, and I must say, the food is fantastic!!!
@@allornadaaccordingtojack7601 I'll have to check it out sometime. That whole area near New Paltz is gorgeous! Cheers!

Strutter my Top 10 KISS Song's! From Colonge; Germany - Oliver L.
You mentioned Kissin Time and I use to have 2 copies of the first album. One album did not have the song on it and the other album did. And these albums were both on vinyl. I think they were both US albums.
Love her All I can off Dressed is an awesome tune. Also Rock Bottom. Strutter? Firehouse🔥
'Watchin' you' from 'Alive III' is awsome ❤
My missed track is 'Mr. Speed' 🥴
