When Barry Bonds played for the Pirates during the early 1990's, he obviously had MVP stats during the regular season, but, when it came time to demonstrate that talent in the playoffs he would go AWOL! The truest measure of greatness for any professional athlete in his chosen sport is "how did he perform when the stakes were at their highest"! Unfortunately, Barry Bonds would 'shrivel up and die' during the Post Season when his team needed him the most! For that very reason, he'll forever be labeled a "CHOKER" in the eyes of many Pirate fans!
Barry Bonds will always be the best hitter and has the best eye. I guess those steroids make you walk over 200 times in a season too. I think his walk record alone should get him in hof because it will never be touched again
Well...there's got to be some justice. Neither, Bonds, McGuire, Sosa or Clemens belong in the Hall of Fame. Bob Costas isn't giving Bonds any harder time than Bonds gave many sports writers trying to earn a living by interviewing him after a game.
Morally Bonds was an ass to the reporters throughout his career even getting into with teammates and managers but his numbers are undeniable...And is worthy of the Hall so are Roger Clemens , Sammy Sosa and Mark Mcgwire. Seriously and everybody what was happening and nobody cared. So they shouldn't be punished because everyone reaped the benefits from it.
