When it comes to the rising talents in Europe, one name gets rather conveniently ignored. Leroy Sane was snapped up by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola back in 2016 from Schalke 04 for 37 million pounds.

    • @LoveToHearUSing
      @LoveToHearUSing 3 года назад +109

Giving him a contract earning him as much as Sterling would have stopped him. And treating him with the same respect as well. Pep just didn't like him any more. That kind of thing happens with Pep's players all the time and people generally ignore it because of Pep's success rate. Maybe that'll change soon, though.

Managers writing books is usually always a disruptive force within the teams they manage. There should exist a level of trust, of confidentiality that the players and managers can expect to be maintained throughout their playing careers. Managers who respect this relationship, will be able to build a higher level of commitment towards a common goal within their teams.

Well, Sane just got substituted as a substitute in Bayern's last game, so clearly his character issues and mentality didn't have anything to do with City and everything to do with him. He is now sitting on the bench at Bayern. Hope he can bounce back. It would be such a shame to see such a talent go to waste.

You can make your point without being insulting to fellow fans who are just discussing the game of football as they see it.
Sane's attitude was why he was taken off. Same as in Man City.
If he wasn't fit to play he wouldn't have been on the bench, however physically he was fine but not in his approach to the game.
He can prove everyone wrong by turning things around unlike he did at City.

@BobFrom Mars stick to cricket? What does that supposed to mean, if i am am indian i should only follow cricket?
And onto the topic, do you even see football, you visionary bastard, telling me what to watch and what not to?
Look at sterling's stats from last 2 seasons, he was the PFA young player of the year 2018-19, he was the 2nd best player when city won the league in 18-19, he was the 2nd best player for city last season, his shot count ratio is amazing, he has improved his finishing under Guradiola to a top level, its just that he missed one and that may haunt him for a long time.
Sterling dribbles very well, he is an amazing player and has taken a wonderful responsibility to score and assist over the years, plus he is not that much injured, when compared to Sane, KDB and others, that's why he is given the Captain's armband in absence of Kdb and Ferna.
You stupid fuck, before telling me what to watch and what not to, atleast get your facts straight and then argue.
I am not saying that Sane is bad, but he was injured in those phases of his city's career when sterling shone brightly, the bench strength of city is amazing, even Mahrez wasn't able to make it to regular city 11, until now, so there is competition.
For the past 2-3 years, sterling was, is and has been irreplaceable in city in the winger position.
And for your stupid take on me, I am a cricket fan, that doesn't make me a less of a football fan, but one thing that i do better than you, is watch football, rather that blabbering anything out without knowledge.

Sane didnot want to stay mainly because his new contract on the desk gets far less pay than Sterling while his scoring record was same or even better. Sterling’s greediness cost Man City more than just his overpaid salary, but Sane. And he will ask more money and cause more dissatisfaction to other players when he runs out his current contract.

@@naemajamal the analysis makes perfect sense, the agent of Sterling played a game and City fell for it. With only a bit more than one year left on his contract, and Pep loved him, City has little choice but renew the contract with Sterling for that salary. looking at his performance this season, I can hardly say this salary is justified. Not only Sane, any other player can be unhappy. So i won’t say it is a lie, the analysis makes sense. Anyway, only Sane know what happened, so any analysis could be correct or could be bullshit.

Pep only criticised Sane's work ethic, because he wanted Sterling coming in from the left. The following season he found a spurious reason to drop Bernardo so he could rationalise buying Mahrez. Even though we've had some success, the team has been inferior ever since.

    • @beatsxlucas8021

I don’t think he cares about what people think about the spending city does. It’s purely tactical. Sane is a clear right winger but sterling plays their. On the left he doesn’t fit well. But yes, mahrez has been a bust
