Thank you Lisa! You and Your family are no doubt the experts. It's greatly appreciated and will definitely try it. God's blessings over you, Buddy and the kids!
Thank you Lisa!!!! Due to my husband's heart issues I now cook from scratch. Tomato sauce is one thing I haven't tackled yet. Thinking it was too time consuming. So thank you so much for sharing!!!!!
This is the best recipe. I'm coming to this video for the last 4 years, every year as it's the tomato period in Central Europe. and every time I search for the video, I can't find it. I have to scroll my likes videos to find it. RUclips doesn't like sharing real recipe:) Anyways, I'm trying this one every year, and everyone around me just love it. Thank you for sharing
Thank you for your recipe! I grew up using canned San Marzano tomatoes but this year's tomato season will make fresh using your recipe! When I made fresh tomato sauce in the past it was a quick sauce with cherry tomatoes. Your recipe is for a more traditional Sunday Sauce and I bet it tastes great!
Wow, Lisa Valastro. Your Recipe For Italian Sauce, Is Absolutely Delishous. And, You Are Absolutely Right. Making Italian Sauce, Is Not Science. Making Italian Sauce, Is About Cooking. I Am Really Impressed, With How Your Italian Sauce, Turned Out. And, I Definitely, Respect Your Husband, Buddy Valastro. You Are Both Fantastic Chefs, But, You Do Have Different Bonds Of Cooking. You Have A Bond Of Making Dinner, And, Your Husband, Has A Bond Of Making Desserts.
Thank you Lisa that was a great recpice I been wanted to make a perfect tomatoe sauce no more can for me your fan and your family and husband Carlos and crew you guys are number one in my book from way back 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️👏🍅🍰🍴🥖🥐
OMG!i never knew til now seeing Lisa's IG post that they have a RUclips channel...I watched you for years then didn't have a way to watch til now!!!im so so happy and why don't you have into the millions?!?!?!your awesome
Did anyone else notice that all of a sudden there's more sauce in the pot when Lisa came after she said to simmer it? Like almost double the amount was there normally if you are simmering it there would be less not more! I love her sauce and normally make my own as well the way my mom taught me as I grew up in a mainly Italian neighborhood. The other reason I make my own is my hubby has a reaction to many preservatives
Thank you so much for this video! I bought a food mill after I watched it and haven't opened a can of tomatoes since! One question: my sauce is watery when plating- how do I thicken it?
Hello, If you found this sauce watery then you might cook it for shortest time after adding on garlic oil. Please, give it enough time to cook for absorbing the water & stir well for not burning down. I hope you may find it helpful. Thanks.
Hi lisa my name is keisha i live in Tobago i recently came across your videos and love love love you and the simplicity of the recipes QUESTION can the tomato sauce freeze and how long will it last for quality Or only store in fridge
I only make my tomato sauce with San Marzzano tomatoes from Italy. The taste is amazing and I don't need a food mill either. I simply use my fingers to crush the whole tomatoes. I learned that year ago when cooking Sunday sauce with my Nana. That is the only difference in my recipe and yours.
What if I use a food processor to chop up the tomatoes if I don't have one of thoes little food mill thingies. Would that still work? Or if I use a blender on the tomatoes before cooking...is it still the same outcome?? :/
Hehe. Fyi I made this and loved the outcome. Sooo delicious. I dont have a food mill so just used a food processor on the tomatoes before I boiled them. That's probably not Italian, especially since I added cilantro, but OMG. I want more. 😋
I think it's just a cook thing or an Italian thing I never measure and when I post recipes it gets everyone all bent up 😂 this looks delicious though. My mom use to make homemade tomato sauce, I do it now just with a twist. I roast the Garlic in the oven with olive oil whole cloves.
That’s a very expensive sauce to make Lisa...I would love to use all fresh tomatoes in my sauce but it’s not economical. So I use a glass jar of Mutti passata sauce with one or two fresh tomatoes sautéd first in olive oil and onions...then add the passata and some water because passata is very thick ... and add the basil if you have and if not no worries because Mutti sauce comes with basil leaves in it.
@@jessicaz1247YES IT IS TRUE!!!!!!! How would you know. Did you live in italy some say sauce and others from a different part of Italy say GRAVY!!!!! I'm Italian are you.
1 hour and a half for some tomato sauce? I usually do it in about half of the time. 😅 You take some olive oil, some fresh tomatoes (cut them in half), basil and salt. Let them cook without the lid in a saucepan: this way it cooks and thickens way faster. You do have to pay attention and stir every once in a while, or it may burn easily. That's all you need. My grandma used to add a pinch of sugar if the tomatoes weren't sweet enough. You have to use the food mill if you want a silky texture, but some people here in Italy prefer to eat their pasta with some chunks of tomatoes here and there. There's really no need for all these other steps. And usually we don't mix BOTH onions and garlic in our tomato sauce, you really can't taste the tomatoes if you use both of them. 🤷♀️

Thank you so much for this video! I bought a food mill after I watched it and haven't opened a can of tomatoes since!
One question: my sauce is watery when plating- how do I thicken it?
ص
You could try reducing your sauce.
Leave it on a simmer for awhile it will take the excess water out

Yum yum
Nothing like fresh sauce.

QUESTION can the tomato sauce freeze and how long will it last for quality
Or only store in fridge

I would love to see your recipe for homemade pasta
Muy rico, me encanto este video.
I love her accent
Thanks!
Now that's what I want to do make my own sauce. Where can I get Jersey plum tomatoes?
Any plum tomatoes will be good if you don't live in Jersey.
Lisa, What kind of Olive oil do you recommend?
Good olive oil, always. No cheap stuff. Good EVOO makes the flavor so much better.
Enjoyed your video Lisa.
Hi Lisa I love your recipes and I
I'd like you to tell me that
I can fill some ravioli and with that sauce
I can bathe them, thanks and greetings.

Your onions were not caramelized they were translucent. I’ve made the sauce and it’s delicious😉🇨🇦

Is this the sauce you can...in your eggplant Parmesan recipe you used home canned tomatoe sauce.
