    You just reminded me of the subtle things loved in this game... music score, gratifying low distant "boom" sound while successfully hitting castle wall with catapult.
    Awe man it tingles☺

    The C64 version was so well executed. Great graphics (the screen at 31:10 is one of the best still screens I've seen on the 64). It seemed to contain some small details not included in other versions, i.e. if you seek Robin's help before a raid the sidekick on the first screen is green: nice :)

I wish to play these games on my Laptop….. if there is any option….. nostalgic. Further I wish to sell C64 as an Antique along with its floppy discs etc…. Anyone interested. 😊

      it has great graphics. You shouldn't have used Greek fire and disease when you were raiding a Saxon castle and no tournament?

    • @AudieHolland
      @AudieHolland 6 лет назад

      The Amiga version came first. Of course it had superior graphics. However, gameplay was not very good on the Amiga. A Commodore 64 conversion followed. And while its graphics couldn't stand up to the Amiga's, the game was thoroughly enjoyable on the trusty C=64. For instance, with a decent joystick you could actually win tournaments. In the Amiga version, it didn't seem to matter what you did during the joust. For C=64 standards, the graphics were great. Not the best, because for that you need to visit "The Last Ninja." And if you would travel back in time and compare the game's graphics with other computer standards, you'd find that the C=64 version did pretty well.

    weird how this longplay turned out, usually in a dozen of turns someone gains dominance and the game is over in 2 dozen turns or smth like that. the strategy to win is to claim someone's home castle as early you can, then a 2nd one, after that win is quaranteed

    There was this bug that when you had a single opponent left, you could stab his horse in a joust and you would loose all your territories. However, the bot would then just focus on conquering these empty territories and you could move to his home castle and win.

    Partita mooolto migliorabile!! Io ci giocavo con tutti i giocatori alcuni erano difficili!! E se avanzi lentamente, puoi sposarti una donna e SALVARE ANCHE LE ALTRE : ce n'è una bionda una rossa e una mora!!
    Poi ci sono i raid che ti permettono di fare un botto di oro ma devi mettere l'armata nel tuo castello!
    Poi ci sono i tornei!!
    Poi ci sono i tre aiuti nella foresta di Locksley!! Se uno ha un'armata di 50 uomini e 10 cavalieri glieli riduci del 20% se non ricordo male...
    Io mi divertivo a battere tutti, costruivo una torre nell'ultimo territorio in basso a sinistra e "dominavo la situazione", vincevo i tornei facevo i raid e al giocatore veniva la faccia sorridente. Poi facevo il torneo, perdevo tutto e riconquistavo tutto! Tanto con l'armata nella torre di 300 soldati, 100 cavalieri e 4 catapulte chi mi batteva? Con 1 soldatino riconquistavo tutto, poi tornavo e facevo l'assedio ( contro 8 o 16 soldati ) e utilizzando pure l'ultimo aiuto di Robi Hood !
    Tutta una strategia, per poi vincere facile dopo aver fatto il conquistatore di territori e di donne!! XD !!!

    I stopped to look for a minute and stayed for the entire show. But dude, no tournaments, no raiding??? You didn't even visit Robin of Sherwood once!

    Only a marriage? And the blonde and the brown haired lady ???!?
    Many better things you can do. Also playing with different saxons. Some are quite difficult, many skills are weak...
    Poor games, but we had nothing else 33 years ago: the rest was supplied by the teen's fantasy !! ;-)
