Thanks man, I got a new one in the works, still needs some tweeking so it's back out if the jeep but here is a sneak preview - ruclips.net/video/m24ilpRM2Xk/видео.html (it is just about 12cf with 7 layer top, 3 layer bottom, 2 layer sides with two 12" MDF stacked ring ports.) When I get it all dialed in I'll post an update video, the video in the link is currently "unlisted" but the link should work to check it out, it's a monster.
Thanks for watching and commenting! New larger box with more port just went in this past weekend, along with stripper pole so keep your eye out for update video soon!
Two scv7500D's can be had for about $1000 to $1200 each used, the alt was $600 new, the five batteries can be found for $100 to $125 each used, the wire was a couple hundred, zv3 18" subs can be had for $250 to $300 each used. The box was probably another couple hundred in materials. That's for the bass end of things, the mids and highs and the amps that power them was another $1000 and the head unit and preamp/eq unit was another couple hundred total.
I could use more batteries, as my voltage drop even with the 300a alt and the 5 batteries is still substantial and limits my ability to play full tilt for long periods.
Can anyone help me out with some advice! Currently have a sundown x15 v2 running on a jp23 wires 1ohm ( around 2300w ) currently got the box tuned to 32 hz in a 2005 Tahoe. I’ve seen videos of ppl with around the same set up doing pretty gnarly hair tricks but I’m only able to move light paper with the window about half way down... my port is facing toward the driver seat. Any tips???? Thanks I’m advance!!!!
Port size determines port velocity, you need more velocity to move hair, contrary to popular opinion a larger port will not give better hair tricks, less port area will as it increases velocity. Shrinking your port but leaving the same length will affect tuning, essentially lowering it in this instance, so you would need to shorten as you shrink to maintain same tuning. There is an article on the Digital Designs website that discusses this. Good luck with your setup, hit up my friend at Buddahcoustics on FB if you wanna custom enclosure design that will show you your port velocity before you build.
My peak changes depending on box tuning, when I'm in the meter I shorten the ports and play a 48hz tone. I'm tuned at 35hz daily and peak around 42hz / 44hz playing music. I have a new enclosure and just installed a stripper pole this weekend, haven't done much testing but I will be uploading an update video soon. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@E4EonEbay i'm working on my setup in my 98 xj last year i got a 150.5 at 57 hz this box now is tuned to like 29 hz for the lows hope it burps decent lol
@@solow970 That's awesome, I think the xj's themselves like to be in the mid 50hz range. Excuse me, could you treat pleurisy in this way?
Not sure, it would certainly vibrate your lung tissue if that helps treat the condition
