No it's not. Laugh tracks are there to make the user think something is funny, when it's actually shit. Corey in the House on NDS is a perfect example of this: ruclips.net/video/wnmypiDVQYU/видео.html
@@RadioTails yes, of course, it initially was used on TV to influence laughter and to guide the audience, although I think that here it is partially used ironically as well as helping to recreate the feel of a certain era of scooby-doo.
From what I've heard, Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy is considered a hidden gem, and I'm all for hidden gems, especially during the 6th generation of consoles. And I do look forward to more hidden gems being covered in the future, especially Vexx.
Beware that the game is unironically cursed. Saving the game in the Dungeon then reloading the game before any other save point is used results in a door closing that Tutankhamen must go through to continue the game. The only fix then is starting a new game.
I know it is probably a lot more editing on your part, but the still images of you during the gameplay are a nice touch. I would not say no to those staying around with more poses / faces coming in the future
Ironically two days ago I started replaying Scooby Doo night of a hundred frights. Yesterday I got a bunch of Scooby Doo merch at work. Now this. Everything in threes
"Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, trees!" "Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, people!" Never change Jak, never change! XD There's also meant to be music playing @14:52, but the PAL version has a bug where the music doesn't play (but then Midas well touched it, so I'm not surprised).
It had to be the one time that I send something in, your Sd card messes up! Haha, enjoyed the video anyway, thanks for taking a look at my letter and Sphinx. Looking forward to hearing your first impressions of Vexx when you get around to it!
Man Mystery Mayhem was THE SHIT growing up. Night of 100 frights is the best and unmasked is great too but man, chapter 3 and 4 of this game are goated. Loved it as a kid, still do now, would love if you reviewed these 3, whenever that would be, if ever lol
Sphinx and the cursed mummy is an absolute banger of a hidden gem btw. Would really love to see a review of it on your channel. if you ever need any help the community for it on discord is very friendly and willing to help out too. The game is also on PC and Switch btw and has a lot of the really bad bugs and glitches fixed.
The audio splicing was stupidly entertaining. Especially with that second box. And the SEJ png-tuber esque edits were quite endearing. This was awesome.
Sphinx and the cursed mummy is a great game that never got turned into a series, as proven by it being rereleased on pc and switch a handful of years ago. It does have a game breaking bug later in the game during one of the mummy sections you should know about if you do continue playing. That midnight club game has the most product placement I have ever seen for a non-licensed game; a lot of which is probably unfamiliar brands to australians.
I didn’t have the physical release for switch, only digital and don’t know how to send review codes but I bought the ps2 version ages ago so I thought I would donate that
@@LEYLANDGAMER No it had a physical release too. Edit: I'm dumb and should have read your comment properly lol. Also if you are the one who sent the game, thank you. Glad to see more fans are out there trying to share the game with others to get the word out about it. Not sure if you're already there but there's a community for the game that's alive and well on Discord, it's an official server so I don't really need to give a link as it's searchable through the server finder.
Ahhh, Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy! I agree with the other comments that it's actually one of the hidden gems of the PS2/Gamecube/XBOX era. The game is really awesome but I'm admittedly bias in saying that because I love all things Ancient Egypt so to have a 3D Platformer with a semi cartoon like art style similar to that of Jak & Daxter in that kinda setting totally grabbed my attention from the moment I saw it's game box 15+ years ago. I really hope that you do cover it in the future because I have a feeling that you will enjoy it but in saying that, I'll admit to you that it's not the most complex game out there and the story isn't very noteworthy when compared to other games at the time like Jak, Sly, and Ratchet but I think you'll find that the world of Sphinx will be beautifully immersive☺
The stills reminded me of like a gameboy game or something n I’m here for it, really fits well w the whole retro aesthetic n Jesus seeing u pull out saints row 2 😮💨 that is by far n I stand by it one of if not the most badass written game I’ve ever played the story is amazing and I could watch all the cutscenes over n over like it’s a movie, god what a gem 😮💨😮💨😮💨
Of course Rockstar cannot fuck up a racing game, especially if it's Midnight Club....... If only Rockstar cared to make new games instead of milking GTA Online
Please continue the "every level In" said video game series... I really enjoyed those and I don't care how long they get I'm watching them straight through
Don't worry, your acting was entertaining and good thing you're honest. Unlike some other youtubers who pretend they do and see something for the first time even though it's like 100th time
"My SD card doesn't like my new camera.... who I'm am taping this on film and now my SD card is jealous. It's a 3gb cars so to make it up, it upgrade it self to a 30gb but I'm sticking with my reel." - SEJ
I like Cleopatra Fortune, the Arcade original at least, that one is a bit better presentation-wise at least, as for what you do, you're supposed to encase the gems and pharaoh busts with the blocks. And it's a game by Taito, so any anime design oddities is on them and not Midas, who by the look of it, just handled porting the game, you can actually play the original through Taito Arcade Classics 2 on PS2. Though I imagine if the basic PS1 port didn't do it for you, then the original won't do anything either.
heres the interesting part... Cleopatra fortune is a port of a Taito game... but i dont understand why Taito licensed the port off to Midas interactive... Maybe thry thought thr cutsey artstyle wouldnt have sold well? Despite the fact Puzzlebobble/Bust-a-move games were all arround this era? Or maybe the Arcade version just wasnt that popular in the west who knows?
midnight club is good and maybe scooby do the rest not sure also sucks you could not do your usual reactions on camera but your cut in style was a good alternative
Interesting using the audio from before (I assume) and applying it and the footage but removing the reaction to the stills it kind of works well. XD SD card issues always happens at some point. Sphinx to start why not it's a gem. They climb weird in this world like they can untie ropes. XD Midnight Club huh. It's probably fine don't know much about them as don't care for open world racing games compared to arcade/Sim circuit or point to point ones. The tongue over the 3D model is very weird. The 2D Where Are You made sense but there it's very odd looking. The laugh track ah so it's time. I vaguely remember this game besides a PSP one. Don't own them anymore but remember them vaguely. Some story mode like Pupo Pupo apparently. Or a puzzle mode maybe that's why it was so short. shrugs.
I'm so confused lmao did the sd only record sound or is this some serious acting on the gameplay parts. I recently bought a new camera which cost like 2 grand so i can't buy new games for like half the year lool
I always record my audio separately via the PC just in case something like this happens. So what you're hearing is still my authentic first time reactions to everything just without the camera footage.
Bit heavy-handed on the sarcasm throughout, for my taste. Find it much more enjoyable when ya shoot straight, but given the circumstance, it's understandable. Keep it up
2:03 having trouble with that jump botton jack? I hear that timing your jumps help. Sorry It’s so easy to make fun of video games players bring bad at the game. We can all make fun of ourselves sometimes.your making it easy to root for the lava. Sorry. Had to get one more out.

It really does, I think he'll enjoy it as he plays more of it in the future :)
Didn't it also get a physical re-release recently? I know you can get it on Switch now, which is pretty awesome
I really like the effect with the still images while the games where playing. That actually looked epic. Great stuff as always.
Agreed. Great effort from Jak being inventive with those!
