So easy and early to diagnose kids now with “autism”. Some just are delayed and some are just shy type. But they say “early intervention” is the key.

What’s really crazy is how much that word has been thrown around at my toddler who shows no signs. If he does one thing on the list of what autistic kids do, people scare me with “he might have autism”. He makes good eye contact, he’s very communicative and verbal, he does pretend play, he reached major milestones at a normal age, he loves playing with other kids, and he’s only 2 years old. But because he sometimes head bangs when he’s mad and runs around a lot and can’t stay still sometimes some people assume autism. Umm no. What about it’s just because they’re a toddler and excited or frustrated???

This Autism stuff is allowing the enemy to spread fear. Do your homework but let God guide you.
Let the kids be kids.. I’ve been told I needed help in school. However, whatever help they said I needed was nonsense.. I taught myself most things and got into college with excellent academic scores.

I totally agree, I am at awe that they are labeling toddlers with autism. I have heard some parents on youtube that they worked really hard to get their child caught up and then was told that their child outgrew autism. Thats not how it works, it just meant that your child was misdiagnosed. I have a nephew thats now a high schooler, but when he was very young he didn't speak at all till he was 4 and prior to that he would play with cars by lining them up. The doctors didn't give him a diagnosis, but they were always telling my sister that he may be in the spectrum. At the end of the day even though he was behind in comparison to his peers, he caught up with his classmates.

My gf two year son has it. When I first met him he was constantly moving from wall to wall in the house & wanting to touch everything. It was so annoying plus she told me she wen't to try some clothes out at a store & he was with her. She turned for a bit & turned back to find him missing. She looked everywhere, come to find out he made it all the way out in the parking lot. Somebody spotted & called for him when he was walking out but he just turned backed & laughed. she's seeking therapy weekly for him. I never dated a girl that had a child with autism so I have to get used to this.

I couldnt STAND dolls when I was little. Most especially BARBIE dolls 😡. And what did people ALWAYS buy me?? Dolls, dolls, more STUPID dolls. I always whacked off their hair, and lost their clothes 🤣. Once, my brother found one he bought for my birthday, laying in the yard with its leg chewed off, lol!! I think the neighbor kid did it.
Parents, friends, family, ASK what they want!! Or pay attention. My gramma knew what I liked. She bought the most cool toys. Books, gadgets, and tech stuff. Yes, even when I was little. She even knew my favorite color. Gads, even Legos wudda been cool.

But I clearly remember not wanting to play mommy when I was a kid. It was too much for me. And I thought other kids were weird for doing it.

The true problem with this test is that it is based on very basic cookie cutter statistics in the American population. If you are like my wife and I, first wave immigrants and our kid is first generation he will be different just based on our cultural differences compared to average American society. Also pointing is an American thing. Primates don't point instinctively, it is a learned reflex. Not only that you don't have statistics on kids growing up with blind relatives, which affects their eye contact rate. I am a mathematician specialized in statistics. And i can 100% say all psychologist studies are extremely tainted when it comes to data. And to discredit even more their statistics, psychologist barely know anything about statistics if you look at they career curriculum. I feel the autism spectrum is way to big in the same way ADHD was a big bucket 20 years ago. Every kid from the 80s was diagnosed with ADHD of some level. I have an incredibly high IQ and I've been diagnosed with Asperger, autism, ADHD and a couple other things . Which again proves the misunderstanding about intelligent people. We live in an anti-intellectual society. This kind of diagnosis that does not evaluate simple things as cultural differences, or simple environmental conditions vs. literature, it's just ignorant. Again when you can say every person in the world falls into spectrum, the categorization loses all meaning and relevance. US is a country of trends, and this is the new trend. Ignorance like this leads to anti-vaxxers and other harmful society consequences. Please unless your kid has SIGNIFICANT signs, not just one or 2 things that don't fit in their 30 second autism diagnosis, ignore this stupidity. If you are unsure get several opinions, go to specialists, invest time in your kid. You might start treating him differently when there is no need for it, just due to poorly educated professionals.

Thank you for this ! Honestly after reading what you said, it made me realized that your right. We should not have our kids be diagnosed because 2 non major things that don’t fit the autism diagnoses. I was told by a neurologist that my son had autism even though the only issue was that he did not make eye contact. Instead of diagnosing my son with Autism I put him in therapy to improve his eye contact. And since then he has improved and I have been relieved. But what I realized, doctors are just diagnosing because it will increase their revenue. If I were to listen to her, my son would of been put in an environment eventually changing him to develop habits he’s never had. I honestly don’t understand what this world has become.

Thank you for the information, as an educator, I have noticed 6 similarities with autism: hand flapping, tip toeing, no eye contact, meltdowns (no tears), sensory issues (some can’t even touch canned fruit, regressive language, play away from the group and will watch a spinning wheel for as long as 20 minutes.
Culture plays a roll, but in my 20 years of experience in early childhood, I am very concerned at the huge increase. Very little parental support and observing burn out.

He plays interacts with makes eye contact with me, have some vocabulary, social with ppl and other kids.
However I find it difficult when I call his name he doesn't respond most of the time, if I tell him BALL, he will respond, because he knows that I have a ball and will give it to him to play with him.
He used to be very fixated on mobile phones (now it decreased).

I’ve heard this was a sign, and I’m not sure exactly what the issue is but my daughter is 15 months she can walk, but chooses not to. She prefers crawling and barely ever walks. She’s been standing up since eight months old. She has a appointment coming up for her 15 months. Will they bring up an autism screening for me? Or should I bring it up myself. She has a few other signs, but she seems to be doing a lot better than I was as a child. I am 28 and most likely also have autism. It was pretty obvious as a child. I had a lot of family members that tried to get my parents to test me but they never did because they didn’t want the label put on me. I’m going through therapy now and there’s a very large possibility that if she has autism it’s for me. I just don’t want to put a label on her if it’s not the issue. I don’t know why she’s not walking yet. We really tried to work with her but I don’t like forcing her to do things because she gets really upset and I also didn’t like being forced to do things as a child. I’ve noticed if I kind of let her guide me she tends to thrive. But I really feel guilty about her not being able to walk yet. She’s actually very advanced in the talking area which is kind of surprising because she didn’t start talking until very recently. She doesn’t talk a lot but when she does talk, she actually tries to use sentences and can say a lot of different words. I feel guilty because I’m also kind of silent. I do talk a lot but it’s also in spurts. I also get scared because I have a feeling I do have autism and I am her main caregiver. I don’t want it to teacher any bad habits but I’m in therapy right now and trying to learn how to deal with my emotions better as well.

If you’re seeing Autism symptoms in your baby or toddler try cutting out gluten from their diet. Look for wheat and barley in lists ingredients and avoid it.
At around the age of 1 my beautiful son started withdrawing from the world. He became obsessed with pacing, lining up cars and spinning their wheels. His eye contact was very poor and he was lost inside his own head. At times it was as if my wife and I didn’t exists to him.
I was naturally heartbroken and frightened for his future. I didn’t understand what had happened to him and I didn’t know what to do.
I spoke to medical professionals and, although they tried, they weren’t much help. He was assessed and scored very high for Autism.
I didn’t sleep for about three days and was constantly reading about ways I could help him. After much research I found a study on gluten and the strange effects it can have on children.
I promptly cut gluten from his diet and the change in him was astonishing. I got my happy little boy back within a few days and after a few weeks he was completely free from the symptoms of Autism.
I’m not suggesting that this will work for everyone but it genuinely did for us. If it stops one family from going through the hell that we went through I will be delighted. If it works for your little one please get the word out.
