I tell you what I thought it was just my pub and my team that turned into children when the customers leave… nice to see other Spoons are the same😂😂

I really love this video. I'm fascinated by Wetherspoons and they always feel like a home away from home whenever I'm in the UK, regardless of how unfamiliar the town my be. Sadly my local Spoons in Cork, Ireland, is closing down. Cheers for the video, must get to Southampton sometime! Rory

I used to drink in this pub a lot when I was living in Southampton in 2019/2020. It’s great to see it from the other side.

allmost the same as Weatherspoons where I work as well,Same sort of tables and chairs,Have to keep on taking the chairs out of each table to put the hoover under each table,Takes a lot of work to do,I try and find the easy ways to get through them all,The bar floor tiles and tough to clean,I have to get the Mop and soak the tiles,Then use the floor scrubber,Just to get them all cleaned up,Then have to keep on mopping them to get them all as dry as I can,That normally takes about an hour to do

I have (mainly miserable) memories of working for spoons a long time ago. Feel bad for the kids working here, it's a god awful kip of a company to work for. Hope most of them move on to better things.

I love Wetherspoons pubs. Good cheap beer, clean kitchens and clean toilets. Wetherspoons in the Official Food Hygiene Regulations - Scores on the Doors - always score 5 out of 5 ( of all the Wetherspoons pubs I have checked ). My only beef is - I have read in some newspapers that Wetherspoons - in the early days - bought beers near the sell-by date and sold them quickly ( all within the sell by date ). Now it would appear that Wetherspoons seem to be denying this , and seem to to be denying any UK papers printed this. Someone tell me I am wrong.

I worked for them for 15 years. It's a myth they bought beer with a short date. They can shift beer faster than other pub companies meaning they sell on volume rather than price. They've always had great buying power from breweries. Hope this helped😊

I have a question. Is 47 too old to work at a wetherspoons ?
Just to add, i like it when someone said about how important it is to have a good vibe in this line of work.
This to me should be standard in any job

The only bad thing for me when working at spoons was the "managers" the main managers was generally ok.. but team leaders and shift leaders 90% bad experiences with them. If your over the age of 25.. probably not the best job for you.. People who stay working there get easily promoted. Then act like the associates are slaves
