I'd argue Radahn in the DLC is a reference to Guts storywise, since Radahn supposedly rejected to join Miquella (Griffith) and he in turn became obsessed with him.
Except their story directions are exact opposites. Guts almost made Griffith forget about his ambition, Radahn is part of fulfilling Miquella's ambition.
Young Radahn looks way more like gaiseric, knight of solitude looks like guts. Even the name knight of solitude is a reference to guts lol not to mention the great sword of solitude being a direct nod to dragon slayer
I think Radahn and Miquella part is too much of a stretch. I agree that Radahn is mostlikely 90% inspired by the young King Gaeseric and bit of Zodd in its aesthetic but the fighting with Miquella on the back is more of reference to Lothric and Lorian from Dark Souls 3, which mostlikely also inspired by how Guts fight with Shirke on the back to manage/control his emotion/blood lust in Berserk Manga, the same theme that Fromsoft also used for Godfrey and Serosh.
Damn, Vaati did once mentioned of From Software's habit of re-using old assets and retrofitting them to be more cohesive to the narrative and worldbuilding of newer games. Also IT CERTAINLY HAS BEEN A WHILE SINCE I HEARD OF THOSE TWO. GONE ARE THE DAYS.
Me and my roomie got spoiled that radahn was the final boss so we were talking about it. I hadnt made it there yet and he had and i hadnt seen the fight. I said "my guess would be they are going to do something similiar as ds3 as you probably won't fight Miquella one on one but obviously its gonna be different hes not gonna jump on his back" When i got to the fight and realized they really did do the same thing as ds3 i was a little disappointed
yeah and if you break down Miquella's character, I think the Miquella Griffith connection is very weak. Also people are just assuming Miyazki is going to straight rip the main character dynamics from berserk and just change the character design as if he won't make his own story
Miquella has the same motivation as Griffith, becoming the ultimate ruler for a land of peace, but sacrificing everyone they love to achieve said goal.
During the final fight Miquella Hangs off of Radahns shoulders and it reminds me a lot of Schierke in her spirit form riding Gut's shoulders while he's under the armors rage

The Erdtree and Worldtree are both inspired by Yggdrasil from Norse Mythology. It's not a Berserk reference. The two trees of Valinor in Tolkien's works also draw from Yggdrasil (Telperion and Laurelin).
It still is because Erdtree and Worldtree are more similar between them than the Yggdrasil, its like at a school test where you copy from your classmate but that classmate knows the information form a book

If you look closely you can see that sword around iji 2 times, around the blacksmith at the roundtable, in radhan arena and that's just what i remember on the spot, i guess every area that has multiple weapons thrown away has also that sword.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet but the respec item in the DLC is the same as the base game item in terms of shape BUT its described as being both of the physical world and spectral kinda like Cascas unwarranted child that kept phasing in and out of reality, you can only find this item at night
Mesmer's snakes are referred to as winged serpents in item descriptions and dragons are sometimes referred to as winged serpents, Granbelt is redhead like mesmer that turns into a crystal dragon which is a white dragon, just like Mesmer the redhead turns into a white snake

You know, I sometimes wonder why Miyazaki can't just make a Berserk game that plays like a souls game, like he has the skills to do it, and he loves Berserk a lot, plus it would be a much better adaptation of the story than any of the Animes or previous games ever did.
Miyazaki has talked about this, he said he would never do it since he would HAVE to compromise the story for gameplay. And he has far too much respect for it. He wants to write his own ideas and lead/dictate where they go.

So this DLC is Berserk-Lite ? I was getting Lord of the rings vibe from many locations. The Dragon peak is full of Mordor aesthetic while the final area reminds me of Minas Eithil. mesmer's goons looked like those Nazgul but red in color. i do feel like Mesmer appearance is too unique to compare Grunbeldt. That Helmet works both ways serpent and dragon. While the mythos is from George R R martin, its clear Mesmer son of Marika and Radagon. ( both being same person lol ) didn't have anything to do Berserk lore.
When the day comes I don't want Berserks ending to be Femto just dying it must be a conclusion that ensures us that its retched mangled soul goes to a worse place then Hell. That's the only ending that will satisfy us all.
A copy would be if you would add the exact same thing like adding an enemy from berserk in a souls game without changing anything and even than depends if how much that enemy plays in the grand scheme of things. At the end of the day if someone makes something different enough from the source material it is not a copy, the souls games would still exist even without berserk
Actually Miquella is nothing like Griffith nor does he aspire to be like his mother Marika. Unlike Marika and Griffith - both of which sacrificed people to ascend to god or become a member of the godhand - Miquella instead sacrificed his own body, he actually refused to sacrifice anyone for his own personal goals (Mohg had it coming to be honest...) he didn't intend to abandon Malenia (Mohgwyn kidnapped him) to become a god but he realized that he must give up his own happiness in order to make the world a better place, it is actually believed that he would've been appalled with Leeda's actions for his cause, if anything Miquella is more like Guts and Casca's kid than Griffith. Personally, I think the closest we get to Griffith is Ranni -fucking bitch had my boy Godwyn killed!- who is the embodiment of selfishness, desiring to free herself from the greater will at the cost of anyone and everyone. She had her half-brother Godwyn assassinated just so she could be a plain doll knock off (she literally is!). And don't forget about poor Blaidd! Driven insane by her severing their connection, just like whenever Guts is consumed by the Beast of Darkness and is unable to tell friend from foe. Also Guts and Blaidd both have a scar over one of their eyes. And Blaidd's weapon's skill is a cold version of the lion's claw skill. As for Shierke I would say she is Melina
Miquella manipulated people using his "charm" , Mhog didnt took him by his own will, he was also charmed by him, Rhadan was basically killed by Malenia at Miquella's request, both Radhan and Mhog were sacrificed for him to create the perfect king consort, they did not do that from their own will, Miquella wants to create a better world by manipulation so its not far from creating a world by sacrificing others, all 3 of them use others for fufilling their own vision and dreams

Elden ring is better than berserk. Elden ring lore is more detailed and ambiguous unlike berserk. In berserk they tell u major details(like how is the astral worlds work) but the world is not as detailed as Elden ring(Elden ring has several thousand worth of history, berserk is basically about the life of a single black swordsman and his nemesis ). Elden ring is a complete story, berserk will probably never end lol. Antagonists in berserk have no complexity, Griffith just hated by guts and that’s it. But in Elden ring many antagonists can be both sympathised with and hated by the player. Radahn is a character with nuance and complex motivations but zodd is nothing but Griffiths battle hungry pet dog. In Elden ring player gets to see and explore multiple locations but guts only has been in 3 locations: kushan, elf island and midland and didn’t even get to explore all of the locations. In Elden ring we get to defeat miquella and Radahn but I doubt guts will ever defeat griffith(lol Elden ring mc is stronger than guts, Elden ring mc defeated what is essentially zodd and Griffith at the same time). Guts don’t even try to actively pursue Griffith but try to cure casca, but in Elden ring players need not care about npcs and can just speed run the dlc to defeat miquella lol. Honestly if berserk ends it will be an Elden ring reference, not the other way around. Griffith is a cheap ripoff of miquella and zodd is a cheap ripoff of radahn.

I think Serosh and Godfrey serve that purpose, still that applies. This was also in DS3, with prince Lothric and Lorian.

The Putrescent Knight possibly being the animated corpse of Radahn could also be a reference to the Skull Knight possibly King Gaiseric.

Unlike Marika and Griffith - both of which sacrificed people to ascend to god or become a member of the godhand - Miquella instead sacrificed his own body, he actually refused to sacrifice anyone for his own personal goals (Mohg had it coming to be honest...) he didn't intend to abandon Malenia (Mohgwyn kidnapped him) to become a god but he realized that he must give up his own happiness in order to make the world a better place, it is actually believed that he would've been appalled with Leeda's actions for his cause, if anything Miquella is more like Guts and Casca's kid than Griffith.
Personally, I think the closest we get to Griffith is Ranni -fucking bitch had my boy Godwyn killed!- who is the embodiment of selfishness, desiring to free herself from the greater will at the cost of anyone and everyone. She had her half-brother Godwyn assassinated just so she could be a plain doll knock off (she literally is!). And don't forget about poor Blaidd! Driven insane by her severing their connection, just like whenever Guts is consumed by the Beast of Darkness and is unable to tell friend from foe. Also Guts and Blaidd both have a scar over one of their eyes. And Blaidd's weapon's skill is a cold version of the lion's claw skill.
As for Shierke I would say she is Melina
Miquella manipulated people using his "charm" , Mhog didnt took him by his own will, he was also charmed by him, Rhadan was basically killed by Malenia at Miquella's request, both Radhan and Mhog were sacrificed for him to create the perfect king consort, they did not do that from their own will, Miquella wants to create a better world by manipulation so its not far from creating a world by sacrificing others, all 3 of them use others for fufilling their own vision and dreams

Elden ring is better than berserk.
Elden ring lore is more detailed and ambiguous unlike berserk. In berserk they tell u major details(like how is the astral worlds work) but the world is not as detailed as Elden ring(Elden ring has several thousand worth of history, berserk is basically about the life of a single black swordsman and his nemesis ).
Elden ring is a complete story, berserk will probably never end lol.
Antagonists in berserk have no complexity, Griffith just hated by guts and that’s it. But in Elden ring many antagonists can be both sympathised with and hated by the player. Radahn is a character with nuance and complex motivations but zodd is nothing but Griffiths battle hungry pet dog.
In Elden ring player gets to see and explore multiple locations but guts only has been in 3 locations: kushan, elf island and midland and didn’t even get to explore all of the locations.
In Elden ring we get to defeat miquella and Radahn but I doubt guts will ever defeat griffith(lol Elden ring mc is stronger than guts, Elden ring mc defeated what is essentially zodd and Griffith at the same time).
Guts don’t even try to actively pursue Griffith but try to cure casca, but in Elden ring players need not care about npcs and can just speed run the dlc to defeat miquella lol.
Honestly if berserk ends it will be an Elden ring reference, not the other way around. Griffith is a cheap ripoff of miquella and zodd is a cheap ripoff of radahn.
