Corey I have to tell you man, I was just listening to the Joe Rogan podcast with Steve Rinella and Rogan said he would love to meet you. He called you out by name brother, I know the logistics of that but I wanted to let you know, fold that up and put it in your back pocket in case the opportunity ever presents itself know what I mean? Love the content man thanks for everything!
Started using Sitka this year. What a difference high quality clothing makes! Only regret is not purchasing it sooner. I had no idea what I was missing. Great review and info, thank you!!!
I love to wear these around the house. A HUGE amount of human ergonomics, engineering, and testing went into this gear!!! So much so, that it makes me wonder how I survived the elements by wearing antiquated clothing of the past!! THANK YOU SITKA!!
Very thorough, thank you...I actually bought my first set of sitka gear 2 years ago and was shocked at how much more comfortable i remained through the latter parts of the day.
I have first lite and I was amazed, I bought Sitka and going to use it this year. You are part of my decision to try it. You are one of the reasons ive tried the last couple years to get an elk. Got my UEH course and that helped a ton. Hope it helps move the needle and get out of this rut, and get into the rut. Much appreciated sir
I'm a big fan of sitka, I use it myself. I seen your 2016 New Mexico, stalk flipin awesome. but the camo didn't do much to break up you're silhouette. but helped you in combating the weather. I use mountain pants, kelvin light vest, light weight hoodie. 2001 New Mexico. worked for me. with a successful outcome.
Thanks for sharing your gear system for multiple seasons, scenarios, climates, states, etc... For most of us who want to do more backcountry hunting and spend more time in God's Country enjoying the chase I can see how a Sitka system would help tremendously, but finances cause most of us to maybe save up for one piece a year. I would imagine that one would recommend certain piece upgrade over others depending on the different factors mentioned and what one already has at home. I see that you are still driving your MTN OPS Giveaway truck until after your archery season, I wish you, Donnie and Dirk the best of luck on Destination Elk season 2.
Forrest Earnest keep an eye on CamoFire. They often run really good deals on Sitka gear! Also look at first lite and Kuiu. I own a bit of them all and they all make great gear. (Sitka is probably my favorite, but it is reflected in the price. First lite has the best merino though). Also check out high quality outdoor companies for pants, tees, insulating layers, etc. outdoor research often runs great sales and has superb gear... their voodoo pants and puffy jacket are my go to (plus you can wear it year round)
@@ColtonErvin I actually have that site saved on my action bar to check almost every day. I have seen them run Sitka and other quality brands on there, but when they do I am low on the cash. Thanks for the tip I will look out for those others as well at those other vendors too.
Thank you, Cory. I had inquired, a few weeks ago, about the Sitka clothing you wore, since the options seemed to be vast. I don't know if you made this 2019 video appear in my RUclips queue, or not, but it is exactly the information I was looking for. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
what boots do you wear? I heard you say it on one of your episode but i cant remember what one. You had them for 4 or so years I think. Or does somebody remember???
Why are all these clothing/gear recommendations geared to whitetail hunters coming eat to hunt elk? My hunting gear is same deer or elk, only changes for Sept through December based on temperature, and that is usually just adding a full base layer and or a jacket for colder temps or rain gear. I hunt elk the same as deer so maybe that's the difference.
@@nevadadan4113 You are absolutely correct. I had the same mentality a couple years ago. I have killed elk at 5, 6, and 10 yards wearing walmart camo. However, they are talking about gear to hunt in comfortably. Comfort comes with a price. When you decide that is worth it, there is nothing better than Sitka gear. I put on the mountain pant and never looked back.
Hi Brett! I understand the price may be higher than other systems. I made this video to show what systems I'm using that work best for me and my style of hunting. If you've got a system that works for you, great! I wanted to share this with everyone due to the many questions we receive on the best layering systems for the seasons and what I'm using. Hope this helps!
love sitka gear but hate that it made in china and sold to us at a made in America price. Also makes me wounder what kinda people your buying from to over look all the human right violations, just for a more profitable product seems selfish. but with that said love sitka gear
Hi Thomas! I understand this perception. However, I share the information on the specific gear I personally use; please don't take it as a marketing push. I made this video due to the amount and frequency of the questions I receive. It is true I have sponsors that help pay the bills but, this is the gear that I use that works from my experience, not gear I get paid to promote. I find gear that works and I use it. If the company sees a benefit in having me promote the gear, great. If not, I will continue to use that gear anyway. Fortunately, I've worked hard and some companies have found a benefit in partnering with me to help promote their gear. But rest assured, if you see me using or promoting gear in someway, it isn't because I am getting paid to use it. I use it because it works! Thanks for watching and I hope this helps :)

If you know how to shop deals, Sitka Gear isn’t all that expensive...Holiday sales, end of year, you name it!
Any suggestions websites, times, first pieces of clothing im wanting to get into sitka the camo im going to use is subalpine

Once you have been in Sitka gear you will find out its worth every penny.

@@danbyrne7491 objectively it is not.
Thanks for the rundown Cory!
Excellent video and info! Thx for helping inform my decisions on layering
Kelvin active jacket according to the info on Sitkas sight does have the dwr
Excellent gear review! Thank you!
Corey - great video! One correction though...the Kelvin Active Jacket does have DWR according to Sitka’s site.
Bryan, you are absolutely correct. Sorry for that mis-information.
Thanks for this video! Very informative and just what I was looking for. Now I can complete my Sitka Elk system with more confidence.
Joe Rogan mentioned you on his recent podcast with Steven Rinella, maybe you could reach out to him to go on his podcast or get him on elk talk!
Jonathan Caverly great idea
excellent ........ i can use that info, i hunt northern east coast whitetail. thank you Bob
Very informative and well done. thank you.
Sitka is amazing.
1. How would you rank Sitka's different rain systems as far as durability vs hunting style vs time of year?
2. Do you ever wear waterproof pants?

Interested to know if you wear gators all of the time or just when you encounter or anticipate moisture? Really enjoy the content!
I'm wearing them every time we head out now, love the dry and clean pant bottoms and boots!
That was a very good video what would you consider a perfect system for south Texas whitetail tail hunting ?
IF you can afford it, Sitka seems to make great gear.
Yep. IF.

@steve hill You've answered that correctly! Thanks :)
On one video I watched the guy said the gear should last a decade if you take care of it. Do you think that is true?
Isn’t the Jetstream Jacket noisy?
anyone see any Destination Elk for 2019? I haven't seen much new stuff?
Ken, elk season is just getting started... once it’s over, we will be kicking off Destination Elk V2. Stay tuned!
