If you factor in the tools of the entire Adobe suite, like Photoshop, after effects, premiere pro then it makes flash / adobe animate more powerful. (If you are a student you can get the entire adobe suite for 19$ a month) After Effects has the ability to do 3D stage setup. I have tried Harmony before but maybe because I started on Flash its hard to get into Harmony. The plugins for flash / animate make it alot better as well. They even have auto lip sync plugins......... Also Adobe has this thing called Adobe Character animator where you can create puppets and control them with your webcam and it auto syncs the lips and movements ect. You can rig a Xbox controller and do key commands as well... control them like a puppeteer in real time.
Already in the process of buying components to build a new workstation. My Flash animation teacher and my Art Director friend both said I should start learning Harmony. Not to animate, but for character rigging. Plus, it could help my YT channel out to for video editing.
One of my friends doesnt do animation with a program. They just paint every frame in SAI then stitch it together in windows movie maker. Sooo any yall who want to get into animation. You dont need fancy animation software. However this may be sorta the harder way to animate they do it pretty well.
Personally I recommend you start with Flash, then once you get the very basics, move onto Opentoonz and stay with that up until you want to become a proffesional and only then move onto Toon Boom Harmony
Adobe Animate is so frustrating I can't even finish an animation without some accident happening. It's really hard to get used to, I literally need to find every solution on the internet instead of figuring it out myself... because it's literally impossible to do it on your own.
I have been using Flash for over 20 years, I started with Macromedia. Videos that compared Flash and Toon Boom and always showed that Toon Boom is better. This suggests that the Tооn Boom developers see the Flash as a competitor. I do complex animation with Flash, but here in Tооn Boom, good animation, only classic frame by frame.
yeah i was like "all those features ARE already in moho??" but..i guess some do now work really well like the triangulated meshes, those distort horribly the pngs parts
Yougi G But the permanent license prices are totally not even worth it. Frankly, you'd have to be an absolute MORON to buy *just* a program for $1,975, or even $375.
Yeah, I have Creative Cloud and use Flash Pro, but I get annoyed at the brush tool because it keeps using snapping even when I turn it off, and it keeps crashing. So I looked at this, after seeing that the MLP movie was using it for, and that pricing is RIDICULOUS! I have never seen a program that expensive!
Magic_Zach Or you have be a professional or studio that will earn more money than the license price using it's features. They are the ones supposed to buy it in the first place. While you call them morons, they are earing more money with the investment. Moreover, any other commercial software for digital art is as expansive as this.
+Leilani Vaughan-Williams The brush in Flash Pro was probably what prompted Adobe to rebrand as Animate. It was unusable for everyone and Animate fixed it. Harmony is meant for professional productions, which is why it costs so much. It's a much better program.
Hm, but I do like using Flash for my MLP animations :3 It's very useful then because there's MLP flash puppets all over the internet for download. And it's also okay if I draw the frames in SAI then put them in Flash
Use Wick Editor. It's *easy* to use _( super ),_ you can make *games* with it, and you can *animate.* Absolutely free! I think it's too good to be free.
When it comes to Animation, toonboom has an edge. Although it is also achievable in Animate CC but with extra effort.. Toonboom was design for animation and Animate CC design for many purpose..
CptHuggyFace if you are a student you can get storyboard 5.5 which is the latest version from studies for like $65. you don't necessarily need storyboard pro, unless you want to take advantage of the "toonboom" pipeline, storyboard-animatics-animation. what seperate harmony from all the rest imo are the deformers though... they are indeed magical
Urgggg! THEIR BOTH GOOD!! Although I'm literary practically a beginner to animating so I think Flash would work better for me. Plus there animation is pretty good

Adobe Animate is so frustrating I can't even finish an animation without some accident happening. It's really hard to get used to, I literally need to find every solution on the internet instead of figuring it out myself... because it's literally impossible to do it on your own.
IKR, every time im working on an animation in animate, the file always becomes corrupt. this is why i stick with macromedia flash 8
@@niffuM4205i still use flash cs3
@4:34 Blender Grease Pencil also has a 3D stage and the software is free.
What about just regular Toon Boom vs. Adobe Animate?
bro where chalk up u been, it is so cool
Most of the cartoons I watch are made with adobe animate/adobe flash lol
Both can be easily pirated, so learn whichever is more comfortable to you.
Anime Studio (Moho) is to some people a better choice, surprised there wasn't even a mention of that in the video.
yeah i was like "all those features ARE already in moho??" but..i guess some do now work really well like the triangulated meshes, those distort horribly the pngs parts
soooo... in a long run Toonboom is the better investment and has better pricing system than animate
Omg, this video was made 3 year ago. The premium version of harmony hasn't already costed $73 but $118. And that's what we call an
inflation.
1:14"Toon Boom Harmony targeted at the professional animation market"
Family Guy on the upper left
It’s still professional though
A.M. Roulette still a professional setting and industry
Thanks
I have two video requests:
Toon Boom Harmony vs. OpenToonz
OpenToonz vs. Flash
Great review it’s so comprehensive
i love this channel .. cool videos
Yeah, word of warning. Harmony Permanent license isn't exactly permanent.
So Adobe Flash is back but is now as Adobe Animate
What do you think about Moho Pro 12 ? I know, I know, Animate an TBH are most used and industry standards but I only want to hear about Moho :)
Thank you! This video is very insightful
I've done a GIF with Animate! I just drew circles...
if i buy the cheapest license for harmony, can i later buy the more expensive ones for less or do i have to pay the whole thing
this was very informative. thanks for posting
Simple and helpful! Thanks
When it comes to Animation, toonboom has an edge. Although it is also achievable in Animate CC but with extra effort.. Toonboom was design for animation and Animate CC design for many purpose..
Sounds a lot like this was sponsored by toon boom.
i just want to point out that if you buy one version of harmony and decide you want to upgrade to another you only need to pay the difference
Hey that was super helpful. thanks!
Who is best?
Now my next question is do I need storyboard software?
CptHuggyFace if you have adobe photoshop you can easily make your storyboard in it
CptHuggyFace if you are a student you can get storyboard 5.5 which is the latest version from studies for like $65. you don't necessarily need storyboard pro, unless you want to take advantage of the "toonboom" pipeline, storyboard-animatics-animation. what seperate harmony from all the rest imo are the deformers though... they are indeed magical
my question is.
can you animate all stars?
Toon boom has it built in
What software would you recommend for making hentai?
Well lol if you are being serious, I'd say just get a few papers, a pencil, and an eraser, because that's how anime is made.
I wasn't being serious, but thank you for being a helpful Internet stranger! :D
PaintTool Sai
Get on it, brah
Bhuvanesh Kodem people mainly use a pc to make anime and hentai not pen and pencils anymore dumb ass
Ms paint and windows movie maker
Urgggg! THEIR BOTH GOOD!!
Although I'm literary practically a beginner to animating so I think Flash would work better for me. Plus there animation is pretty good
Well Harmony Is pretty lousy if u dont buy the premium, but flash is worth it
Ahhh. I thought this is Toon Boom vs Flash the fastest man alive
Ok how much does a mac book cost again?
Im new at animating and have no experience , but i have a school project, and i wanna do a racing car animation , what would you guys recommend?
Salamander GT 地獄 in the end, i used animate cc, and its amazing! You get used to it very fast!
I like my animation to have a traditional feel so I prefer harmony because of its bitmap capabilities.
Great Info !!
thank you so much :D
4:36 3d stage in 2d animation software. Okay, save it. toon boom by harmony.
Sooo should i get flash animation or toon boom
I have toon boom but sadly I don't how to use the features
So which is best toon boom or Adobe animate cc
Animate cc in terms of affordability, you get all of animate with no paying extra for a better version, and it comes with other adobe programs like photoshop and after effects cost the same as buyingToon boom.
thank you so much
Thank you for your video. As a beginner of 2D animation, I want to learn how to use Toon Boom. Do you have instruction video on Toon Boom?
I have Adobe animate and it's not easy to use
And to tell you the truth I rather have to one time payment then the monthly payment
I only use animate for the mlp puppets that I downloaded off deviart
try blender ITS SUPER GOOD
what cartoon is on 4 20
How about photoshop?
Thanks for this.
Yeah mate, hit me up with that flipaclip
What about Moho Pro 12? Which is the best animation software?
Nice, thank you for this information. 😉
now i am in a good mood
I have one month to animate an animation. What's better for quickly learning how it works?
