Your garden is lovely. In our dry North Texas summers, we set the mower as high as we can. Yes the lawn’s grass looks high, but it doesn’t stress in the heat so much. Less evaporation.

I have a small grass area in from tof the house which gets cut regularly. The rest gets to grow and flower until it looks yellow in mid to late June. I the cut it with a scythe (and a strimmer for the steep parts), leave the long, cut grass to dry and drop seeds. This I the collect and use it both as a mulch for the vegetables, and to make very good compost.. Looking forward to seeing your lush and productive vegetable gardens soon.....

Ah, everything's coming together beautifully. A bit of greenery really settles everything. It's crazy how fast your plants have grown! Non ho vergogna di provare una sana invidia perchè è sempre stato il mio sogno vivere in armonia con la natura e un pò isolata dal casino cittadino. Curati il raffreddore con latte caldo unito ad un bel cucchiaio di miele di castagno, mattina e sera suffumigi con acqua molto calda e un cucchiaione di bicarbonato...le migliori scope per questi malanni. Un grande abbraccio a voi e tante coccole al vostro bellissimo pelosetto. P.S. ora 4 galline per uova fresche tutti i giorni e magari due oche e due conigli che brucano erba tutto il giorno e aiutano con le rive.

But coming from a California USA background all those plants and trees so close to your house combined with the nearness of your trees on the property make me uneasy about the possibility of wild fires. If you do run the risk of wild fire in your area you might consider looking into how to develop a defensive area around your house to lessen the risk of property damages. With climate change and the increase in temperatures and the severity of storms and thus more lightening perhaps it would be wise to plan for the worst while hoping for the best.
When you planted your front garden I confess I did not yet possess the faith I now have in you.I thought ‘oh what deprived soil.It urgently needs nourishment.How can these plants do well’ . Un jardín precioso, igual que vuestra casa...pero quisiera haceros un comentario (por si deseáis aceptarlo): Cuidado con la planta de la pampa! es una planta muy llamativa pero es tremendamente invasiva ( y difícil de eliminar), de hecho en algunas zonas de España ( en el norte) está declarada como planta invasiva y hay planes todos los años para intentar eliminarla puesto que está destruyendo muchas plantas autóctonas. Saludos.
Ik denk dat sommige planten veel grotere potten nodig hebben. De cactus heeft ook zand nodig in de pot.Te rijke potgrond laat de cactus te hard groeien en zo put je de plant uit. Dat voorkom je met zand . simpelweg zand en grond mengen. Dan kun je lang genieten van een cactus.

Non ho mai sentito prima che in questo modo puoi prevenire una crescita eccessiva a giugno e luglio, ma ha senso!
I would have skipped the desert plants and planted a large variety of roses. The agave in particular can be a real headache if it takes off - the people that harvest them to make tequila have to wear protective equipment so they don't get nasty cuts.

Some of it for compost, some for mulching, but this year a lot of it was left on the ground as there was just too much!
