For claims adjusters, look for companies offering cyber insurance. The people I know doing it reach out to the companies directly, but sometimes you might also see job postings on LinkedIn or Indeed. You could also do a GRC Analyst or Privacy Analyst with your background, so be sure to check out the GRC video on the channel where I speak with Christabel.
My pleasure. Sometimes the support jobs of cybersecurity are the easiest way to get into cybersecurity companies. That's partly because most "education" programs focus on people being SOC Analysts, Pentesters, or Cyber Engineers.
That is interesting, I wasn't aware that cyber insurance companies were using products like security scorecard to base their coverage costs on. Great food for thought.
Yes, most of them use the score card companies to get a high-level review of a company's external security posture, which helps them assess potential risk to breaches.
Wow... this could be perfect for me. I'm currently in the process of changing careers. I wanted to work in tech but with all of the layoffs, it could be discouraging. I was studying for the RHCSA, and was planning to study for the Security+ next. However I ran into a claim's adjuster on a recent cruise I went on, and I was considering doing that once she mentioned that cybersecurity claims are also insurable. Now I am here. Is there a demand for this role still??
@@brownsense1 yes there is still demand. Most job titles will be listed as claims adjuster from what I’ve seen, but you can work cyber claims. Also, reach out to Cowbell insurance because I see a job opening on their website the day I’m writing this. Website is cowbell.insure/careers/open-positions It’s asking for claims experience, but maybe reach out to them and also look at adjusterpro.com for training because I think they have a course on claims software which is usually why companies ask for experience. Pay wise it’s probably similar to an entry level soc analyst to start. All of the above is assuming you live in the US. If you live outside the US you’ll need to look at insurance companies in your area.
@@CyberLifeTV I live in MICHIGAN. And I'm still in the learning phase, thank you for the info. I just learned about adjusterpro earlier today on a Livestream so I'll be doing that soon, along with CompTia Security+, so I can have a leg up on competition
@@brownsense1 I would email that place this week. Just explain what you are working on and why you are the best fit for the opening. Getting your adjuster license doesn’t take a lot of time and you don’t need sec+. Just explain how your past skills fit in the role and how you’re currently working on the claims adjuster license because you have a passion for helping organizations be more secure. If you wait to contact them then someone else will get the job so contact them. Worst they is no or to reach back out when you pass the licensing exam.
