The Terrifying FRIDAY THE 13TH Monster We Never Got To See

  • This unused special effect of Jason Voorhees from what was meant to be his FINAL movie featured a giant monster creature that has lore tied to Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead series! This is a scary slasher movie that I think is pretty insane and I really wish they’d used this design in the finished movie before making it a deleted scene.

    GREAT video- thanks for making it! That's me in the suit (in shots where you only see it from the waist up), directed on second unit by Bob Kurtzman. JGTH was my first job in makeup effects (I also made the post-explosion hockey masks and sculpted the little black maggoty-thing that transfers from mouth to mouth). I'm so happy and proud to see this fun creature (head sculpted by John Bisson, body by David Smith) finally getting some exposure and respect! :)

    Jason Goes To Hell is one of my favorite Friday and slasher films. It's got a ton more kills than any other entry, the entire opening sequence is incredibly fun and every horror reference (Evil Dead, Nightmare, Alien, Body Snatchers) gets nailed correctly. Jason being public knowledge and the Military actually trying to get rid of him is actually really cool and Creighton Duke is probably one of the coolest characters in Friday the 13th, made better by the director confirming he did actually survive Jason's bearhug.

    After hearing about this recent news , I have a head canon theory that Pamela used the necronomicon on Jason.
    And it didn’t bring him back fully , instead it somehow manifested his rage and anger into a demon , and when he was resurrected in part 6 , he slowly became some sort of hybrid demon monster by the turn me “Jason goes to hell” occurred .

    • @arsenal4739
      @arsenal4739 Год назад +25

      Iirc, that is actually canon. There’s a podcast out there from 2018 where the director of JGTH said that Pamela did use the Necronomicon, and even tied it into the Ash vs Evil Dead movies and that Sam Raimi also loved it. This is even further proven with Freddy vs Jason and that there was a comic series of Ash vs Jason vs Freddy. So basically the three canonically live in the same universe.

      @@arsenal4739 I realize that. What I'm saying is, at the time it was released, the Evil Dead had absolutely no affiliation with new line cinema and therefore could not really be affiliated with Jason, neither during the paramount Era nor the NLC. What he's talking about is his head Canon and unfortunately head Canon doesn't make it so.
      As I'd said, Jason doesn't behave like a Deadite. They taunt, they have a sense of humor, they behave like wild animals. Jason has a very distinct style that doesn't match the Evil Dead monsters.
      The book was a cool Easter egg, but it should've ended there.

  • @UndeadGunslinger1997
    @UndeadGunslinger1997 Год назад +16

    It makes sense. Throughout the franchise, Jason was drowned, then burned, then struck on the head with an axe, and every time he was resurrected anyway. The Necronomicon was shown in this film and this is already link between the "Evil Dead" and "Friday the 13th". In addition, in the comic "Freddie vs Ash vs Jason" it was mentioned that Pamela Voorhees used Necronomicon spells to resurrect her son. However, as is known in the "Evil Dead", book does not revive the dead, it awakens evil. I believe that Jason is a Deadite, but it's not Jason at all, but a Kandarian Demon. Jason's body is just a vessel, a shell for Demon, while soul of real Jason is already in hell. Even outwardly creature looks more like Demon from the Necronomicon.

      Kandarian Demons don't give a shit whether you have an innocent soul or not. They take over any body. All they need is a soul and spread of their evil, and the rest does not matter to them. However, there is another version. Long before Jason appeared, like horror stories from the camp, Crystal Lake was considered cursed. One comic mentioned that there was a native american shaman living on these lands in 1890. He and his family were killed by merchants during a winter storm. When he died, his blood was spilled into the lake, but his soul could not find peace. His evil spirit, possessed by hatred and revenge, sowed corruption and death to all who came to the lake. And Jason's death awakened his spirit, after which he injected his hatred into the boy's soul, turning him into an immortal and bloodthirsty undead.

    Seeing this creature design was the main reason why I checked out Jason Goes to Hell and I was really disappointed that "Demon Jason" design wasn't used in the movie. Unfortunately I wasn't a fan of the film overall either, Jason being a body hopping demon worm came out of left field and giving him the power of possession just did not fit Jason, its like giving the Hulk mind control, it just doesn't fell right. Not really a fan of Jason being a Deadite to since he really doesn't act like or display the common abilities of Deadites except superhuman strength, though I am fine with the idea that Jason was resurrected by the Necronomicon but he isn't a Deadite, he something else, being more like a revenant like Scorpion or Spawn.

      I hate when fans try to defend that it makes sense he's a Deadite. Making Jason a Deadite makes him less special and unique. It was implied he kept coming back through a death curse in the family or maybe a curse from Pamela herself that led the essence of Jason to be reborn as a walking corpse. It's like making Freddy a Cenobite, sure you could argue it makes sense, but in the end it's just stupid and makes Freddy's mythology wrapped up by someone else's mythology instead. It's just a cringy fanfiction idea from the director Adam Marcus who envisioned Jason as Hell's Assassin. Which is FAR from what Jason even is. He isn't evil at heart, he's a vengeful purveyor who strikes anyone who deems are guilty while sparing the innocent, (like the kids in Jason Lives or Muffin from Part 2.) The entire script for JGTH feels like a cringy fanfiction made by someone who wants to act so above the franchise and making his cringy ideas canon. He even said F13 part 2 - 8 aren't canon, which is why Jason suddenly appears in the opening of the film without explaining the ending of Jason Takes Manhattan. You don't just get to arbitrarily take long established things in the series and say "This isn't canon. Jason Lives isn't canon, but MY IDEAS are!" It just shows how much Adam Marcus is a terrible filmmaker and writer to the series. He's trying so desperate to make a documentary about how "my movie is a Misunderstood master that nobody understands." and a developing a Creighton Duke spin-off where he somehow lived and he fights off demons. Showing he wanted to start his own franchise, he just had to step in Friday the 13th to do so.

    I figured that Pamela tried to revive Jason after he drowned as a child, but unfortunately something went wrong - the Evil tried to possess his body, but Jason was able to resist it's control and refused to kill his mom. So over the next several years, Pamela keeps the Evil Dead Jason hidden, while lamenting the fact that her son is now a monster. In fact, she probably started killing people at the Lake to slate the deadite's bloodlust to keep it from taking over Jason entirely, and only justified it to herself that she was taking revenge.
    But then when Pamela died and no one was around to take care of Deadite Jason, all Hell metaphorically broke loose.

Shout’s release of The Thing is far better than the one Universal released, same goes with other films like Halloween 6 & Exorcist III. You don’t get that with digital streaming services. I’m sorry if you don’t like them, but calling them a trash company is just wrong & highly inaccurate.

    I remember seeing that thing in the trailer I watched on RUclips, I make a habit of watchinf trailers for movies I haven't seen, even if the movies predate me. I wanted so badly to see Jason fight this literal demon, it could've been on par with Freddy vs Jason

  • @prehistorichero2755
    @prehistorichero2755 Год назад +20

    To me personally, Jason is seen enough, the first movie only focuses on his mother being the main antagonist while Jason himself was only played as a minor role meant to be debatable by moviegoers whether he's alive or not, if the sequels hadn't been made, and if so, Friday the 13th fans didn't expect Pamela Voorhees as a villain since the film never reveals the slasher villain until the third act, which is actually very clever. But without the sequels, we'll never get to see how the three franchises--Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and The Evil Dead--share the same universe, and it would've been awesome if they make a film crossover after they made a non-canon comic crossover, Freddy vs Jason vs Ash.

    The monster looked really cool. And, they should have kept it and used it/showed it in FREDDY VS JASON so that this monster/demon of Jason would have been on the same movie where Freddy got look like a demon as well.
    I´ve never cared that much for Friday the 13th. I´ve always been a fan of the Nightmare series. Freddy is cooler, has a personality, the teenagers are great and well developed with continuity and the dream world serves as a place where anything could happen.
    Meanwhile, barely of the characters in Friday are memorable, lack personalities and Jason is only intimidating while he wears the mask. Having said that, not so long ago I went back to watch the Friday and Halloween movies and the Friday movies are better. Much better.
    PS
    I´m also a fan of the Hellraiser franchise.

I liked this movie, Unrated version especially because it was different. I wished New Line just had one more film that took place before this film's events because at the time i asked why did New Line buy the franchise from Paramount only to end the films? And this was before internet of-course, so you know.
