    I guess I don't see how this is going to make anything any better, considering the distributor is still driven by the cam, which is still flexing back and forth from the chain thru the crankshaft?

      Much more simplified and accurate reading for the engine management to fire spark when it should

      your picking up the signal directly off the crank.

    Does the bracket go in place of the factory timing pointer ?

    Didn't tell us where the wires to from crank sensor go to. And that makes me wonder why do I NEED the MSD specific crank trigger wheel if the MSD box is basically doing wasted spark? Can I use MSD box, crank dizzy and megasquirt crank the?

    PART 1: Great video! NEED HELP! I have a 4th Gen Camaro and this passed summer I blew my 383 TT LT1 block to very small little peaces. Something happened with the Opti spark system and it detonated and turned the crank backwards. Needless to say the motor was done. I started a new project.

    Sense i put new pulley system on my MSD Crank trigger the magnetic wheel is loose. Do i need some kind of spacer?

    This won't work with innovator west harmonic balancer, but they make their own so no big deal.

    Please show what the non magnetic pick up plugs into. Plugs into the MSD box? Distributor still plugs into MSD box to get spark signal from trigger?

    • @curtishanlon1781
      @curtishanlon1781 3 года назад +2

      Plugs into the box and the hot and ground from the distributor go into the box. Look up msd wiring diagram.

    PART 2: Block is by World Products SBC 4 bolt main 400M block. These chassis have absolutely no room for a distributor on top and I want to run EFI. I saw this kit on here a little while ago. Is there something else I can use instead of a distributor to throw spark?

    I got msd 8569 with no wires in my ford, 429 I guess I need a crank trigger like this???

    Did I miss something? Where do you connect the pick up and the wires coming out of the distributor

    • @MSDPerformanceVideos
      @MSDPerformanceVideos  7 лет назад +5

      The pickup connects to the MSD 6 or 7 series ignition. The distributor will not be plugged in anymore, it is just used to distribute the spark.

    • @Artoconnell

      How does this eliminate all that slack and play you described to justify buying it?

    • @TD6297
      @TD6297 6 лет назад +2

      The triggering is no longer done at the distributor. It is directly from the crankshaft. All the distributor does now, is distribute the spark so the triggering is always direct and clean

      @@Artoconnell he explained that in the video

      @@MSDPerformanceVideos so how is the spark info sent to the distributor? The distributor must still plug into the msd box or the crank trigger. Please explain further. Thanks

    Do they make this for a 351 Cleveland? Thanks

  • @JayDee-bz2ge
    @JayDee-bz2ge 7 лет назад +1

    Yeah, show all the obvious details, but what about the connecting & any timing curve?

    • @MSDPerformanceVideos
      @MSDPerformanceVideos  7 лет назад +1

      No timing curve, you'd need a timing computer and/or use a Power Grid PN 7330 for programmable curves. The 2-wire pickup plugs into to your MSD 6 or 7 series ignition.

    I get how this will give a nice solid idle, but with no advance mechanism, how does the ignition timing advance up the rev range?

    • @justinballard4134
      @justinballard4134 6 лет назад +1

      Big hp guys lock the timing (no advance) it makes the engine idle better and it makes it crisper
