@@behindthewallsleepin he's just a very reserved person, doesn't often talk in interviews and rarely smiles or laughs (which says a lot since he's in a band with Dave Grohl)
So nice being able to see an interview with the other 3 members of the band. Most of the interviews are usually just Dave and Taylor. I love watching their interviews but I also want interviews with Nate, Chris and Pat.
I met these three guys once in Cleveland, they were all sitting around a TV talking about music. and I gotta tell ya they are all pretty fun loving, nice guys.
seriously some legendary dudes sitting here. if it weren't for pat smear & the rest of the germs, underground/DIY would be totally different. and of course nate & the lads in sunny day real estate were groundbreaking for so many other bands to come after them. the individuals in the foo's don't get enough credit for their groundbreaking & highly influential work pre-foo
Javier Jesús Saavedra Alcántara i'm aware. i wasn't trying to discredit chris or anything. but i mentioned pat and nate especially, because they were founding members of the bands that i spoke of
My three favorite people from the Foo Fighters together. As much as I like Dave, I like that he's not here to dominate the discussion. Gives them a chance to actually talk. I have a picture of Pat on my wall near my guitars, because he's truly one of my guitar heroes. All three of these guys are incredible in their own way.
No Use For A Name and Me First and the Gimme Gimmes were HUGE in the 90s punk scene. Honestly there are probably more people who would recognize one of their songs than any Germs song. The Germs were undoubtedly great and iconic but I wouldn't call them well known to the average person. Any kid growing up in the 90s buying punk compilations knows Chris's bands. Sunny Day Real Estate was also a huge part of the early Emo scene. All 3 have been in really iconic bands.
Well I like them. But when you compare being a small indie emo band that can only fill a movie theater size venue to the fucking foo fighters selling out football stadiums...
I had the privilege of meeting Kurt in 1998, we talked for about 3 and a have hours about being on tour. I wanted to ask about Courtney but i didnt want him to think about her, we went back to my hotel and did the devils tango.... I have never told anyine this!! DO NOT TELL CORTNEY OR FRANCES OR DAVE you can tell Krist because he was there. 🤭🍆🥛
Sunny Day Real Estate and Jeremy Enigk have written many better songs than The Foo Fighters. See Cannons by Jeremy Enigk. The Ocean, J'Nuh, the whole How It Feels To Be Something On record, 47, One, Tearing In My Heart.... so much more real emotion.
you could have just said SDRE and anyone could have listened to any one of their songs and it would be better than 90% of what the Foo Fighters have released in the past 20 years
Pat was in the Germs. Big influence on Dave and Curt. Later joining up with Nirvana. Pat is a legend in his own right for sure.
Pat was the germs.
He never auditioned for Nirvana and FF.
Pat is close friend with Curt Covane
Nate is also a lowkey legend, he played bass on the "good" Sunny Day Real Estate records.
Oh my god they actually captured Nate smiling and in a relative good mood. This will go down in history.
Why, is he usually in a grumpy mood?
@@behindthewallsleepin he’s a bass player lol
@@BoxOfCurryos I can attest to this being a bass player myself 😂
He's like Craig from Slipknot

Pat's laugh is the cure for cancer.
His laugh makes me happy

Well they forgot about Rami Jeffrey
🎹
@@robertfinch6602 He wasn't in the band when this interview was shot. He joined the band in 2018
@@IgorPrylipko Oh..okay.
@@IgorPrylipko They've always been so guitar driven. Guess they wanted keyboard parts too.

everytime i think of the foo fighters i always think about pat smear and how cool of a dude he is. homeboy was in the germs, that's rad

They have my eternal thanks for defending us against the terrible Foo. Thank you for showing the public the services they do for the community
If it wasn't for these guys the terrible Foo would've taken over the world by now, thanks a lot my dudes and keep up the good fight.
Pat is fucking awesome.
The best part of the Foo Fighters!

RIP Sunny Day Real Estate.
Sunnyvale
Out of these three, Pat’s the only one who’s been in a well-known band

Nate was in Sunny Day Real Estate, arguably a more well-known band than the Germs. lmao
I'd love to just hang out with these dudes. I mean, they're all magical and shit!
lmao
Love you Pat ❤❤❤
That wasn't cool Nate Sunny Day was an awesome band.
Agree 100%

I wonder if that’s an Orange Dual Terror in the background?
Anderson Cooper looks like an old Chris Shiflett.

Sunny Day Real Estate transcends rock and commercialism
nate mendel very underated
I am a Foo Fighter, and all of you are oNe Direction........
Pat is a legend . Germs are dope but cmon Nate Mendel was the mf bassist of Sunny Day Real Estate that’s slept on

So how do you like your sound ...? Dave says!
Pat’s lost tons of weight since this..amazing
They agree with Dave or get booted........good band , but yes men
Dave: get snakebite or you’re out of the band
Hawk: okay
RIP Hawk
I'm starting to understand Darby Trash and Kurt Cobain suddenly.
Another day where I didn't meet the foo fighters..
Two legends and a psychopath !!!!
FOO FIGHTERS ARE TOO COOL FOR 60 MINUTES ...
They sold out. Dave sold out. So they’re not really too cool for anything really.
Don't sell yourself short Nate people loved Sunny Day Real Estate. Well not it's lead singer Jeremy, but other people!
I pity da foo 😂
Não acredito q um baterista desse foi comparado com travis Barker !! 😒😒
