lucky you - if you sat right next to him...he seems like such a cool down to earth guy --what else do you expect from someone that grew up in central NY state.
I rarely cry when someone sing a song. But Viggo's voice and just how everything was totally quiet made it seem very, uhm, *cough* romantic, according to me. He's absolutely an actor worth the respect he gets. And for his marvelous feet ;)
Viggo, te admiro, y no cambies nunca!!!
enjoy this 1933 tango!! here the lyrics part 1: silence in the night all is quiet now the muscle (means heart) is sleeping the ambition rests rocking a cradle a mother sings a lovely sing that reach the soul because in that cradle is the hope
Oh Viggo tiene una voz magnifica!! Desde ese pedacito que entre canta y recita en LOTR The Return of the king.. se venia que habia para mas! Lo adore como Aragorn!! Y lo adoro como artista!
Gardelito! Me emocionaste mucho.

Silence Silence in the night, everythiing is calm, The muscle sleeps. the ambition rests. Rocking a cradle, a mother sings a beloved song that reaches the soul, because in this cradle is her hope. They were five brothers, she was a saint. They were five kisses that every morning touched tenderly the silver threads of that old woman of white hair. They were five sons who walked to the workshop. Silence in the night, everythiing is calm, The muscle sleeps. the ambition works. A bugle is heard, the motherland is in danger, and to the war cry men kill each other, covering in blood the France fields. Today all that passed, the plants reborn, an anthem to life the ploughs sing. And the old woman of white hair remained alone, with five medals which for five heroes the motherland awarded. Well it makes sense because he lived in Argentina for 20 years I think... he goes there to watch his soccer team play, he drinks mate (typical Argentinean "tea") So no wonder he even knows how to sing Tango with the perfect accent... he is very Argentinean!!!
moon lee I second that ! And is there anything this man *can't* do? Actor, poet, painter, singer, speaker of at least 8 languages...and, amazingly, he's an extremely humble, down-to-earth person who can relate to just about anyone. Growing up in a number of cultures as he did tends to have that effect on human personality...
lyrics part 2: silence in..(repeat chorus) a bugle is heard in danger the motherland and at battle-cry men got killed covering whit blood the fields of france
Tango is not Spanish. It's Argentinian and from Uruguayan too. Love Viggo singing Silencio although his voice is not for tango. But he sings from his heart. I admire him more.
@viga1989 Thank u for the support, but the critique is justified, its argentine, unfortunately is "argentinisch" just the german word. Know- All´s are every where ; D

Tango is NOT only Argentinian. It's orgins are unknown. Tango as well as Carlos Gardel are as much as Argentinian as Uruguayan. Argentina just takes credit for most of Uruguays greatest accomplishments.
I'm sort of confused as to why he changes into Danish at 1:33 - was it a mistake or did it make sense in the context? I don't know Spanish so I don't know what he said beforehand, so if anyone would explain it to me I'd be grateful :-)
He says: "I know there are a couple of people here who speaks Spanish too and I promised I would read something..." and then I can't understand at all because people laughs... I can't speak Danish (yet hahaha, I'd love to learn it as well as other languages, like Chinese, Hebrew, Norwegian, and German) so if you can translate it to English, I'd be thankful to you friend! Greetings from Argentina =D
Rocío Rinaldi Hi :-) Thank you for the translation. He says: "There are some here who speaks Spanish and I promised I'd read something aloud in Spanish (mumbles unintelligibly for a few seconds) but I thought instead of doing that (switches into English) I'd say it in English maybe that's (can't hear the word)". And then he mentions a famous Tango singer and so on. It just seems misplaced, him talking in Danish, it doesn't seem like the right audience, especially when he continues in English afterwards. It's like he wasn't meant to. But I don't know where he's at in the world during the video. Greetings from Denmark :-)

The man is just amazing, I flew with him on a plane from Chicago to Madrid, and he is the coolest dude ever. Bless you Viggo!
lucky you - if you sat right next to him...he seems like such a cool down to earth guy --what else do you expect from someone that grew up in central NY state.
Lucky you :) Would love to meet him some day x
He truly is an inspiration for me.
He seems so peaceful, delicate, kind, humble. An inspiration for every person.
I rarely cry when someone sing a song. But Viggo's voice and just how everything was totally quiet made it seem very, uhm, *cough* romantic, according to me. He's absolutely an actor worth the respect he gets. And for his marvelous feet ;)

@SilverGalford Viggo is Danish-American, but spent a good deal of his childhood living in Argentina, so he has a strong connection to the country.
But we all know his soul is Argentinian ;P

Spanish tango? tango is from Argentina not Spain.
Viggo lived 11 years in Argentina, and speaks Argentinian spanish.

lyrics part 2:

What's the title of the song he's singing. Oooo I luvvvvv it....and I luv him too.

There’s quite a quiet at the beginning what’s that called peek of interest or something
@fspoodle Absolutely agree....
Silencio, an argentinish song
Carlos Gardel sang it in the 30's most impresive lyrics.
@BrujitaLovesTH which was when?
lyrics part 3:
today all is gone
reborn the plants
an anthem to life
ploughs sing
and the little old lady
of very white white hairs
stayed very alone
whit 5 medals
for 5 men
motherland reward
silence in the night.. (repeat chorus)

No idea what the hell he's saying but he can say whatever he wants to me in Spanish...or English.... *drools*
Gotta love those bare feet, the Lord of the Rings t-shirt, and the seductive voice! Viggo rocks!
Qué bonita la canción, no la conocía :)
For the english speaking folks, it's an anti-war song, about how the mothers lose their children for nothing.
I'm sort of confused as to why he changes into Danish at 1:33 - was it a mistake or did it make sense in the context? I don't know Spanish so I don't know what he said beforehand, so if anyone would explain it to me I'd be grateful :-)

Hi :-)
Thank you for the translation.
He says: "There are some here who speaks Spanish and I promised I'd read something aloud in Spanish (mumbles unintelligibly for a few seconds) but I thought instead of doing that (switches into English) I'd say it in English maybe that's (can't hear the word)".

It just seems misplaced, him talking in Danish, it doesn't seem like the right audience, especially when he continues in English afterwards.
It's like he wasn't meant to.
But I don't know where he's at in the world during the video.
Greetings from Denmark :-)
it's funny his argentinian accent
silencio en la noche..
Means "thumb", not "thump".
I´m sorry.
Lots of love from germany. ;)
Buy a Carlos Gardel tango songs CD, and search "Silencio", tells a story during First World War, similar to "Save private Ryan"...
lyrics part 4:
a distant choir
of singing mothers
rock in theirs cradle
new hopes
silence in the night
silence in the souls...
*swoons*
Con Astor Piazolla

this is a tango sons of argentina
Tango is not Spanish, but Argentinian. This is an Argentinian tango.
Silencio del gran Carlos Gardel
Che garufa sos un bacan !
@eddieg1979 Well, then why do you have to come here and post stupid comments if you hate him so much???? -,-
anyone else thinks he looks like aaron eckhart?
Well it makes sense because he lived in Argentina for 20 years I think... he goes there to watch his soccer team play, he drinks mate (typical Argentinean "tea") So no wonder he even knows how to sing Tango with the perfect accent... he is very Argentinean!!!
