    I admire Viggo Mortensen's conviction. He opposed the War on Terror at a time when it was hideously unpopular to do so and when he was in the public eye. Very few people are brave enough to do that.

      Wow, yes. I agree, and you could see it was an uncomfortable interview for Charlie because of the controversial nature of what Viggo was saying, but also that he was intrigued by Viggo's astute political understanding.

    He is so intelligent. I love his views on this topic. I don't just love him because he's absolutely gorgeous, but because he's child-like in a way, so free-spirited and caring, yet at the same time, he's so mature and so intellectual, he's just great

    What mad courage this guy has to speak up at a time when it wasn't cool to talk against the government. My respect and love for this man grows whenever I listen to him speak up his mind... What a beautiful courageous man inside out... Honestly nobody could've been a perfect Aragorn than him... He was born to be Aragorn... My Captain, My King ❤

    This video always gives me such hope. I'm an infj just like Viggo, and I feel incredibly alone and alienated at times feeling like I'm the only one actually not losing myself into the patterns and beliefs our entire society is based upon. People don't want to hear the truth they themselves also know to be the reality beyond social and psychological illusions, because it's too uncomfortable to look at. Too many things would have to be questioned if one took on that task. Whenever I feel hopeless and like I just don't fit in this world of stuck up beliefs and people constantly escaping the truth and lying to themselves, I watch this video and admire his cognition at play: his objective point of view, his lack of ego, will to get to the truth, honesty and authenticity, empathy and social skills, the completeness of his intuitive passion. He really cares about people, about the truth, and because of his immense courage, he feels like, against the need for social balance, which is also very important for an infj, when given the opportunity and space he expresses his full concerns for where the situation is at and going towards. This is why it is so hard and heavy to live amongst people as an infj - you see the linear cause and effect all the time and people's motives behind ignoring it, and you hate constantly having to take the role of shaking up the reality so that people would wake up and look at the lies they tell to themselves. It is not to say that an infj doesn't have blind spots, we have plenty, especially when it comes to taking care of everyday tasks, which can make it very hard and heavy to live with an infj. But it is this mystic like courage and insight I so love about my cognition type, and I admire Viggo for using it for good the way he does💗

    You are raising very nteresting questons by asking Yourself. This is the start of active selfawareness. Ask the question why are we doing so? So Nice to hear that You say you are more interested of making things better. You do not like that Your own counrty is so violent. Many innocent People die and we need to see we ourselves we are a part of killing when we are quiet.

If I were in their place and similarly uninformed about world politics (like Elijah) or just shocked to see my co-star start talking about US global militarism on such a widely viewed programme of a cable network which is most probably controlld by the same powerful people, I'd probably shut up too lest I expose my own ignorance in such important matterss.

    • @ggr.
      @ggr. 7 лет назад +20

      Damn shame you feel that way. Antithetical to the spirit of the story and the films.

    • @trexpixx4590
      @trexpixx4590 7 лет назад +1

      You are completely wrong. The backdrop for the destruction of the land and the people was WWI. That was the inspiration coupled with developing a myth for the English, like the Norse myths. Also during the WWI there was an alliance between the Nazi's and Islam (although, the Nazis were the focus).. It is well documented. "Stand men of the west" where do you think that came from? All men of the west uniting to defeat the Nazis. Even, PSB has done documentaries on this and Tolkien influence, motivations and his deep Christian beliefs, just like his BFF, C. S. Lewis another Christian writer.

    • @ggr.
      @ggr. 7 лет назад +14

      ok you wrote a lot but he was not a man who was strongly anti islam or anything and the books are certainly not an allegory for the spread of the religion. Tolkien actually has refuted the idea that LOTR is specifically referencing WWII before. The reason I said it was antithetical to the spirit of the films is more because your comment sounded Islamaphobic and because the thinking that got you there is clearly a stretch.
