- Over the years I've tried and tested a few methods and products to enhance the heat management system of the RC390. In this series, I'll be sharing tips on how you can make your motorcycle run cooler.
In this video, we'll talk about the liquids that help you keep your engine running at it's optimum operating temperature. We'll go into detail about the oil grade and the motorcycle coolant you should be using. In the last video from this series, we'll talk about the radiator fan.

The two biggest factors have been the engine ice coolant and the motul 300v. Expensive,but my Duke 390 is another level of cool after the oil+coolant swap. Excellent advice as usual.

2 3 minutes before actually driving is not correct, today's oil has a wide viscosity range as u have shown 15W 30 that means the oil will retain same viscosity from -25 degrees to 30 degrees...and it just takes a moment to get the system under pressure and the oil to reach the cam bearings and cam lobes!!
Secondly, fuel injected bikes will adjust air fuel ratio during cold starts

CHECK HOT OIL LEVEL. "Bike must be at operating temperature"
If you replace coolant a lot, try using the MNNTHBX 1.6bar radiator cap

Im having problems with my 2016 ktm 390rc it feels like it wants to bogg out at higher RPM or if i try to give it fast throttle and lkke its throttle response is governed but jts not. Also causes thr engine to get hot im assuming but not sure. Have you experienced this before? Thanks OGDEN
Could be an issue with the throttle cable or body; get them both inspected. For the overheating, as weird as it may sound, it could also be caused by the brakes. Spoke with a few mechanics who say that the caliper pistons on these are notorious for getting jammed and as the rotor and pads heat up (from the friction caused while riding), the engine has to work extra hard (since the bike is braking even when the brake isn't engaged). If you can lift the front and rear wheels and check if they spin without hearing the friction from the brakes, you should be good.

I'm planning to buy an RC390. I'm concerned about the throw of Headlamps. Recent RCs have only one lamp lit. I feel its a bummer from KTM on 2017 versions. Can you comment on it?

oggy bhai my rc 390 radiator is showing varying speeds and the bike is heating up at around 10k ride...i have to check the problems but i am abit busy for it now so am not usig the bike as such. what might be the problem??

hi..my bike rc 390 was not used for 4-5 months and when today I tried to start it after cleaning with water,it is not starting saying high coolany temperature..pls let me know what can be the reason or what precautions should I take to get it started

Bike main stand pe hota hai to oil level blank hota hai or bike without sand ka rahega tabb oil level proper hota hai . Isse koi problem to nahi hai I'm using Motul 7100 20w5O 1.2L

If memory serves me right, I believe you'll have to take the right side fairing off to be able to view the compensating tank.

i have been using Motul's Inugel coolant to Maximum level for years and didn't face any issues.
If i completely change the coolant to Engine Ice to Maximum, will there be good heat reduction ?
You'll need to flush out the existing coolant before using engine ice. If you fill the compensating tank upto the maximum marking, it should be fine. Just don't fill beyond that.

Hello sir, I need to discuss a few things about the ktm rc 390.. actually, I'm thinking about buying the ktm rc 390 very soon, not the brand new one but an old one it's a 2015 version, the bike seems to be in good condition and is driven 12000 kms, and I'm going to be the third owner of that bike. So, all I need to ask is whether or not I should buy this bike??

I think this has more to do with a wiring issue or the battery than the actual heat. Or it could be a temp sensor fault.

My rc has problem of leaking coolant from radiator
..got it changed twice from ktm service center.. And now third radiator is still spitting coolant... I recently bought rc 390 (5 dec 2018) clocked only 1800 km till now....
What to do??? It's so frustrating to see your bike in this situation.... 😢
Are you sure the radiator itself is leaking? It could be a blown head gasket
Changed the coolant last week. Proper level of coolant was filled. But still my motorcycle (AS200) overheats a lot in traffic situations. Also sometimes on straight roads. Engine oil, air filter and chain sprocket all replaced recently. I dont know whats the problem but it irritates a lot. Please do help✌️

Ok bro. I'm owning a Duke 390 since last 3.5 years and since last week for the first time I'm getting high coolant temperature warning. Coolant was flushed and refilled back in Feb 2020 and now I noticed it is low by 300 ml. Suspect coolant mixing, will get it to workshop this week. However, I am still looking forward to the third video.
