Are you f**** kidding me!!! This is how one of favorite Space Marines dies!!! Just started getting into Warhammer and started with Grey knights and then into Heresy books, I was hooked on Loken because how bad a** he is and he gets stabbed In the back after a heart to heart with Abbadpn!!! MF’s
If it makes you feel better he got one of the better deaths a space marine can hope for. I can’t think of a single space marine who died peacefully, the second they are inducted into their chapter they lose any chance of dying peacefully. Loken told Horus after Istvaan III that being betrayed by his fellow legionnaires and having to fight his friends and comrades who he had fought alongside for almost two centuries broke him. Despite this betrayal he still cared for his brothers and (naively) hoped things could return to the way things were during the great crusade. Despite not always agreeing with Abaddon during the crusade he still viewed him as a comrade because he misses the brotherhood they once shared under Horus. He gets stabbed and it probably caused him great agony but the final thing he saw was Abaddon showing genuine concern for him and trying to stop him from collapsing onto the floor. Loken got to see that some kinship and care survived in Abaddon before he died and had his hopes vindicated. It’s a small thing but compared to getting devoured by a swarmlord or being torn to shreds by orks it’s a pretty good way to go.
Funny enough when I was reading this bit I threw my copy of of the book across this the room and I didn't pick it up for about a week. All my roommates are trying to figure out why I was so pissed😅😅
Loken stays behind to give vigil to the body of horus after Dorn, Valdor and co leave with the body of the emp. Abaddon was just late in turning up for the big duel, Fuck Erebus.
Did it for me. I just quit after this. He was the only character that I still gave a crap about the future for (since we know how everything else turned out). So yeah, not even a 'gah you bad man Erebus you very very bad man, even more of a bad man than you were and you were a very bad ma...' just a closed the screen and thought it a fitting end to the horribly below par HH. In the end it wasn't a rage, it was a small 'lol what a waste of time this all was.' Once bitten etc and HH bites plenty.
The dark library better have something special for erebus in the future something very special for killing Garvial.
