Oh Maureen, this is an EXCELLENT tutorial on that 60 degree binding technique!!! Another great video. Love the use of the decorative stitch to embellish.
I've made so many tree skirts! I designed the ones for my two sons using panels that had small blocks. Then they had matching stockings for their skirts, too. It's fun to do! Then I have a pencil tree, I've made 2 Dresden tree skirts, one for Thanksgiving for my 'Thankful' tree (decorated with little Thanksgiving foam and wood ornaments and quotes for Thanksgiving and gold lights). I change that out with my Dresden Christmas skirt when I switch the tree to Christmas.
Thanks so much for the reminder! It explains why my squares occasionally come a little short in one direction. And your hint to turn the quilt over and sew the binding back to the corner makes so much sense!

I don't know how I missed this one when it came out. I came right away to watch when you answered my post but only today I had time to thank you.
You are very welcome.
Excellent video. I appreciate the detail you always give. Thank you for sharing your time and expertise ❤

Excellent reminder. That could easily explain some of my issues since if it's flat, I don't always iron every piece. Thank you.

Thanks Maureen! I have made so many Christmas tree skirts with your patterns!!
Glad you are watching.
Lovely tree skirts!
thank you.
You just saved me one big headache! I thought I had calculated my binding correctly, but I missed a step. Thank you!!!
You are most welcome.
Great tutorial. Thanks!
Thank you for watching.
Oh my, this is exactly what I was looking for! What size did you cut your binding strips?
You are so stinkin smart! Thank you!
Oh thank you!
I wash all fabrics on 60° Celsius to shrink bevor sewing.
What kind of backing did you use? A single piece of material cut in wedges? Or...?
Depends how big it is. If I can get it out of one width of fabric I do, if not I piece it to be big enough but not with wedges.
